John's Sliding Door Wheel & Window Spring Repair

This was amazing. I almost replaced my doors for over $2000. John came out and had them working like new in just a few hours. His new wheels actually work better than the ones on new doors. Plus the wheels are American made.

I was extremely impressed with John from the moment I heard his message to the call he returned to a job completed. He was punctual, professional, fairly priced, and a very wonderful person to meet. He completed the job cheerfully and did a great job. I would strongly recommend him.

John, the owner first called me to let me know he was en route to my house. He was on time and professional. He then promptly went to work and made the necessary repairs. The slid glass doors quit, smooth and efficient.

I left a voice message at my initial contact and John called me back promptly. He was able to schedule an appointment for me within just a few days. He arrived on time and went right to work. He replaced the bad sliding door roller assembly and checked the rest of the door rollers while he was there. He cleaned the track and applied graphite, and was meticulous in ensuring that the doors opened and closed smoothly, and he even double-checked the lock assembly to make sure that everything was lined up accurately. I have enjoyed an absolutely silent sliding glass door ever since!! Thanks, John!!

John was very nice and professional. He told me he had been doing this for 15 years and it showed. He removed two loud single-wheel assemblies (made in Taiwan) and replaced them with dual-wheel assemblies that are made in the USA. The door slides like butter and is extremely quiet... exactly what I was hoping for. He was finished in approximately 45 minutes and I am very happy with the results.

John was prompt, extremely courteous, and changed exactly as he estimated over the phone. Our doors were only 12 years old, but the problem slider works better now than it did when it was installed by the builder. That heavy, oversized door now slides like butter. He arrived promptly and quickly did the job. We had to reschedule 2 times because of my schedule and he was always great about it.

First, kudos for Angie's List. I had no idea whether sliding glass door tracks could be repaired. With little confidence I would find anything, I searched "sliding door repair" on Angie's List, and up popped John's name in first position with A ratings, so I called him. He told me how much various things would cost, what the maximum price could be, and we scheduled a time for him to come and do the repair. The prices are low enough and the distance to my house far enough that it would make no sense for him to come out just for a proposal.He was so pleasant and thorough on that call that I had every confidence in him. Indeed, he came out, put new wheels in ("$20 ones to replace $2 ones") and replaced the track that had two deep ruts in it that were keeping the door from sliding. He tested everything, sprayed dry silicon, cleaned up, and was utterly charming while doing it all. He got along well with my dogs. I got everything I wanted and could not expect anything more.

John was EXCELLENT!!!!!!! He knew his stuff, was extremely efficient, and, because he was late, gave me the door lock for free! It's been one month now, and the door still works better than the day we moved in! I'm amazed, and I consider myself skeptical of repairmen.

Excellent all the way around. Fast callback, easy schedule, on time, nicest guy, professional job done quickly, and my doors work like new. If your doors don't roll easily call John, - I wish I did a year earlier.

John is a master of handiness. He was a dream to work with, a very good communicater. He is capable, courteous and very knowledgable. He carried the parts he needed with him so he didn't have to come back a second time. My patio door worked so hard that at times, I had to pull it open from about a foot off the floor. John showed me that the bering was ruined and the roller was trying to slide rather than turn as a wheel. He had it fixed in no time. I can now operate my heavy patio door with one finger and it is whisper quiet. While he was working, I remembered how the front window was getting harder and harder to close all the way down and lock. I asked him to look at it. First and foremost John has an excellent attitude and provides AWESOME customer service. He also wants to make his customer happy and aims for 100% satisfaction, rare these days! Cost was a little more than I would have expected to pay (400+), but I guess you get what you pay for as the doors work like new now. I would use his services again!

I called John Donahue the morning of 04/17/2012 and he returned my call at 5:00 P.M. the same day. John only repairs sliding glass doors; he doesn't replace them. When I told John how old my problem door was he told me there was a good chance that he would not be able to repair it. He recommended two of his competitors who could repair the door if that was possible or replace it if that was the only option. He went on to suggest that would be a better option and I would possibly save paying him a $50 service call and still not have a serviceable door. I appreciated John's honesty and in addition found him to be pleasant and friendly as well. I would call him again in a heartbeat.

Working with John was a very positive experience. I left a message for him, he called back, gave me a quote, arrived at the scheduled time, and did the work as promised. He's pleasant (he whistled while he worked), got along with the family dog, and my door sounds and feels like new. His service is as good as it gets and I highly recommend him.

He gave me costs over the phone, he called the day before to confirm his coming, then on the day of service, he called to let me know he was on his way. He worked quickly and as it turned out, he fixed a lock instead of replacing it, which saved me the cost of the lock. He also checked the other locks and wheels, and siliconed dry sprayed them. Smooth and quick and very pleasant to speak to and work with...all with a smile!

Our sliding glass door leading out to the pool/patio was almost inoperable. We use the door regularly. It vibrated so much when opening and closing it would rattle your teeth. I am handy and do most repairs around the house so I researched on line where I watched a video showing how to replace the rollers on a sliding glass door. On the video they removed the door, separated the frame and seals from the glass, pried open the metal frame - hold on, this is no job for an amateur. I could visualize broken glass all over the place, an unseated seal, and a bent frame to say the least. I made one of the best choices ever, I tossed my do it yourself pride and decided to hire a professional. Went to Angie's List and located John's Sliding Door Repair. Called John and detected early he was friendly, professional and accommodating. He showed up the very next day on time. He replaced the rollers, aligned and adjusted the door without removing it. this was magical and a sight to see. I warn don't try it. John has done this service for many years. The door now slides easily on the tract with a nudge with a finger.

John quoted me a price over the phone for replacing the rollers on my sliding glass door the day I called for information. He explained what he does and how he does it and the price was great, so I set up the appointment right away. He called the night before to confirm and then called when he was on his way over. He finished the work quickly and at an extremely high level. He knew more about sliding glass doors than most people know about any other topic.

After putting this job off for a month I finally called John's Sliding Door repair. I left a message and received a return call that evening. John first said that it was a simple job and walked me through how to do it. When I replied that I really was not comfortable doing the work we scheduled an appointment for later in the week. He showed up exactly when he said he would, came into the house with all the parts and tools necessary to do the job. The work was performed professionally and neatly without any false starts. He cleaned up at the end of the job and presented a bill that was for the amount that he quoted. I would use him again without reservation.

I don't have time for details, but overall I was very happy.

My initial call to John's, after finding him on the list was on 11/19/2012. That call was returned the same day and John laid out all the options and prices for his service. An appointment was set for today, 11/21/2012, at approximately 2 PM. John called on 11/20/2012 to confirm our appointment and called again this morning to give me his approximate arrival time. He arrived right on time, took out the three door panels, replaced the wheels in the offending door and re-installed all the panels, being very careful in how he handled the panels. He also did some filing on the door track to ensure a perfect slide and vacuumed up all the dust created when the used wheels were taken out.
