 + -1 moreAs for the cost of a very minor cosmetic windshield chip/repair, I felt was a little expensive to justify overall. They did however come to my house to perform the repair on my auto glass, but wrapped-up in a brief time; still a value I found very convenient.
Description of Work: Very punctual, highly professional. The phone representative was a little hard to communicate with; 2 technicians arrived, service was fast, friendly and efficient. A couple of their hidden charges to watch out for, but the Angie's list discount took $20 off, so it's all good!

 + -1 moreOther than the delay in the arrival of the technician, I am very pleased with the repair provided.
Description of Work: I had a small crack in my windshield. I submitted an online repair request prior to leaving to run errands. They called to confirm and let me know about my insurance coverage before I was even out of my neighborhood. However, the day of service wasn't quite as prompt. I picked the 8-12p window. The technician called around 10:30 that morning and said he was about an hour out yet. He showed up a few minutes after noon. Once here though, he was very professional and the service was quick. There is just a slight visible change in the windshield now.

Description of Work: Car windshield was cracked. Called Safelite for repair. No morning at home appointments. Made 8:30 appointment a couple of days before, at their Largo location, 2580 71st Court. Before they removed cracked windshield, they said windshield they planned to installed was also cracked. Another windshield would be delivered by 10:30. Technician, Jack, did a good job, very neat. As required by the state of Florida, the cost was covered by insurance. The first time driving car on highway, there was very loud wind noise. It started about 40 MPH and got much much louder as speed increased. New rubber moulding at top of windshield, where sound was coming from, was higher (Thicker). Called Safelite. Woman stated that was the moulding the windshield manufacturer supplied with the windshield. I said it was higher than the original from Honda. She told me Honda did not make the windshield moulding. I corrected my statement, that the moulding, which was on the car, when I purchase it new, was lower. She made me an appointment. The night before the appointment Safelite called to change the time of the appointment. It came out, that they had made the appointment at a location many miles away. Not where the original work had been performed. I requested it be changed to the Largo location where the windshield had been installed. The location was changed. Explained the problem to the technician, Jack who did the original installation. He understood and showed me the new moulding he would install. It was in bulk on a spool. Almost exactly as what was on the car when it was purchased. Again he did a good and very neat job. No more loud wind noise. We can now carry on a conversation at 60 MPG. As always the quality of the job comes down to the person doing the work.

I did not pay anything out of my pocket because I had insurance. They were personable and on time. They came to my location and did not try to pull anything that I had not anticipated.

The crack was still visible so I called back. They returned the next day and replaced the windshield. The repairmen were very courteous.

 + -1 moreI had a golf ball sized ding with cracks and two smaller sized chips in the windshield. The golf ball sized damage occurred on Friday. Safelite Autoglass was contacted on Saturday. An appointment was made for the technician to come to our home on Sunday. The technician called before he arrived to inform me of his estimated time of arrival and was on time. The technician explained the procedure before he started to do the repair. He explained that the golf ball size chip and the cracks were within the limits that a repair could be done and that some flaw would still be visible after the repair. He said that if I wasn't satisfied with the results I could have a new windshield installed and the cost of the repair would be credited. The two smaller chips had existed for at least a year. The technician explained that due to the age of the chips that all the dust the would not be completely removed and that a bit of dust that remained in the chip would still be visible. He then asked me if I wanted to go ahead on do the repairs. I agreed. The results of the repair was as the technician had predicted. Some cracks where the golf ball sized were visible but the windshield was now smooth again. The same was true for the smaller chips. The technician was knowledgeable and courteous. He was careful to protect the car from damage when he was performing the repair. He cleaned the work area and removed any debris after he did the job. This was an insurance claim so there was no charge for the repair. The $25.00 was for replacing the windshield wipers which is another service that Safelite offers.
Description of Work: Repaired stone chips in windshield and replaced wiper blades.

 + -1 moreThere's really not much to tell...other than the chipped windshield was fixed in less than 15 minutes. The technician arrived at my office, which was very convenient for me. After he was done, the chip was virtaully gone. Excellent job, courteous and professional. As far as price goes, my insurance company took care of it, so I cannot rate them based on this.
