Earl Pruitt Well & Pump Service

Description of Work: I called and talked with Earl. He was very nice and took the time to talk to me, even though my land was outside of his service area. He gave me suggestions on who to contact in my area, including giving me some phone numbers. Even though he was not going to be doing any work for me, it was very nice of him to help me.

Description of Work: He is so nice! He advised that he doesn’t service Sarasota, but he gave me recommendations for whom to use in Sarasota, how much I should pay for the service and how to tell if the job was well done. He did all this even though he knew he wasn’t getting the job.

Description of Work: The only time Earl Pruitt was on time was to write up the contract and collect the payment. He quoted me a price for a minimum of 165 ft. When I called swift mud to find the average depth in my neighborhood they told me it was an average of 65-80 ft. When I told Earl about this he said that his company goes deeper in to the limerock so the water is cleaner and won't put that yellow stain on the house. He even pointed out other houses that had the stain and said that wouldn't happen. Well they found water at 65 ft and when I told Earl about it he started making up reasons why they couldn't go any deeper. I still had to pay the full amount even though he was 95 ft short of what he had quoted me. I had sand in the lines and when he came out to clean them out he broke one of the heads. It took him 2 more weeks to get back to finish. Thus guy is a con artist and a good ole boy who can talk his way through any situation. Plus the pump sticks 5 ft out of the ground and is an eye sore. He could have cut it down lower but just didn't. And I have yellow stains on my walls. I have had a few people tell me that he's a crook. I wish I had read the reviews before I called him. Lesson learned

Description of Work: A leak in my irrigation well pump turned out to be a rusted pressure tank. The old one was removed and replaced and they cycled through the zones to make sure everything was working correctly. They waived the service call fee since we are Angie's List members.

Description of Work: No water coming from my well. Came out on Labor Day (they were in neighborhood) and got it primed and working. Suggested clean out well for $550. Did not charge for immediate service on 9/8. However, when I called to ask for written estimate for proposed "clean out" none was forthcoming. Also, when asked how/why pump, check valve and pressure tank work, I was told he did not "have time to teach me all that." So, I never called them again. P.S. I have since "jump-started" the shallow well pump and it's working to my satisfaction.

Description of Work: Earl Pruitt Sr. came out and told me my well had not collapsed. They only needed to sleeve the down pipe because it had rusted through. The other well company was going to charge me $4800 to drill a new well. Earl Pruitt's company saved me $3000! They new what they were doing and didn't take advantage of me. They did an awesome job!

Description of Work: He checked my pump that had been acting up. It was working fine while he was here. He said it was getting some air in the lines. He also told me not to use the timer on the sprinkles run them manually. Also watch the pressure when the sprinklers are running. He told me if it is not broken wait to fix it. He did not charge me for the service call. He was extremely professional. I will definitely call him when my wells or pump gives me any more problems. It was really refreshing working with such an honest serviceman.

Description of Work: We moved into our home in August 2012. We noticed that the house had a well pump but was not working. We called Earl Pruitt for a free estimate. He and his son came and determined that the pump, which was over 50 years old was defective. He gave me an estimate of $450.for a new pump and associated duct work and new faucets. They returned later that week and installed the new pump and we had water but since there was only one well, it did not produce the amount of water we would need for the lawn. That bill was over $900. it was high but after seeing the work involved, I had no complaints. He said we should have at least 2 more wells drilled so that the pump would be drawing from three pipes rather than one. He quoted me $200. per well plus the $52. permit fee. I called and agreed on the price. On Jan.7th I got a call from Earl saying that his son would be over to do the job. After the son did the job we had plenty of water and everything was fine until I got the bill which was $911.64. I told his son what his father had quoted me but he said that they normally get $800. for a single well. I paid the bill but was very upset. I told Earl's son to have his father call me but never received a call back. Let me state, the work done was excellent but if you use them in the future, make sure you get a realistic estimate and hold him to it within a %.

Description of Work: I spoke to Mr. Pruitt by chance and he came out to the property to help diagnosis a problem. He drove over 60 miles and did not charge us.

Description of Work: We used Earl Pruitt Well and Pump Service to drill a new shallow well for us and hook our Artesian well back up.

Description of Work: I received an estimate for a new pump for a well used for yard irrigation. They were very proffesional and helpful in diagnosis of the burned out submersible pump. The replacement cost was reasonable but I decided to use my reclaimed water bib instead of repairing the pump because the well was probably under the house. This was more trouble to repair for the convenience of watering a few plants outside my sprinkler system. If we ever decide to replace the pump, we will call them for the job.
