Description of Work: They installed a brand new 5 ton carrier system. They wired it wrong and it took them 2 days to get it right. This being a system they recommended to me as a solid unit they were trained on. I also carried a yearly maintenance program with them. They never got the filter right in their system and never brought the right filter on the truck. About 10-12 months later my electric bill didn't go down infact, it had been more. I called them to send a truck out to verify the wiring was correct. they refused unless I agreed to pay the fee on sending a truck out if they didn't find anything wrong with the unit. I was reluctant because it took 3 different techs to wire it up when they installed it. Not sure of the tech competency I refused. They refused to send a truck. I asked for management. They refused. I explained i was a long standing customer with these maint contracts and everything. they refused. I told them I would call someone else and never come back....they refused... Well I never went back...the send fliers, I just toss them away. I had another A/C vendor come out and they confirmed the wiring was incorrect. The a/c seems to be operating correctly now and the overall wattage has went down as I expected. | |Snyder doesn't care about doing the right thing in order to keep their customers.

Description of Work: I have used this company for several years now for semi-annual maintenance. I sign an annual conctact and I am always notified when it is time to schedule maintenance. The service tech always arrrive within the alloated time and are also very courtious. The service techs are always very knowledgable and have many years of experience working. | |

Description of Work: Installed a UV Sterilizer in our AC unit. The installer was on time, professional and completed the work to my complete satifiaction.

Description of Work: There was Freon leak in the A/C unit. The first technician said the coils of the unit need to be changed, which cost me $4000. The problem did not resolve. I had 3 units. Three technicians 'consulted' with each other and 'concluded' that the coils of the other 2 units need to be changed for $7000. I was suspicious. I called another company for 2nd opinion. He fixed the leak, refilled the Freon for around $700!!!

Description of Work: I've used Synder since April 2001 when I bought a Trane XE1100 air-to-air heat pump from them. This unit was close to top of residential line at the time. After about 10 yrs. an electrical component failed. I believe Synder was on-site in 4-5 hours with a replacement component. After repairing the unit the tech to an overall look of the out side unit and the inside air handler. He said for its age the system was in good shape, but I might want to look over their new yearly service contract. After reading the contract (including the fine print) it was a viable way of extending the life of a required expensive system here in Florida. So, every April and October Synder calls to make an appointment to clean, inspect, and test critical electrical, freon levels, and efficiency of the system as a whole. The tech always calls at least 30 min. before arrival, on time, clean, and respectful of our home and property. I have mechanical skills and understand the principals of heat pumps. If a part is failing the tech either shows me the problem or explains the degree of failure and possibility of complete failure in the coming months - you don't want to be without A/C in August in Florida. I have never had a tech try to "sell" me something I didn't need or that would improve the performance. When it comes time to replace this system, yes I'll call Synder.

Description of Work: Our air conditioner quit working over the weekend. We called first thing Monday morning and got scheduled for the afternoon of the same day. Luckily, we had an extended warranty which was still in effect. It wound up to be a capacitor of some sort; costs us nothing because of the warranty. They were prompt (actually early)and fix was immediate.

Description of Work: Snyder Heating and Air Conditioning performs maintenance service twice a year on the two AC units in my Florida home. Snyder offers a maintenance contract that allows me to pre-pay for a one-year service contract, so that at the time of service, I only pay for extras like filters or pan protectors. | |As the original units were installed in 2000, Snyder has replace both AC units in recent years--they did good work with the installs, and provided prompt assistance with issues that arose on one of the units following installation. | |My only issue with Snyder is that at almost ever service visit, the Snyder service person seems to recommend something new to be added. This may be due to the fact that technology does advance and change. But as there is also little consistency of individual providing service from one visit to the next, it leaves me wondering why the previous person didn't also identify the important finding. Therefore, it sometimes feels that each 'important recommendation' is an effort to sell me something new or additional--and it is incumbent on the individual to weigh the options presented, and make the decision that is in his/her best interest.

Description of Work: They came out and found organics growing in our unit, cleaned up the unit and installed UV lights to assure the problem wouldn't happen again.

In all these years, there was only 1 technician that we didn't care for and I informed the company as to why. He hasn't been back since. We have been very impressed with this company.

Description of Work: Six month service/cleaning. Tech was professional and respectful. He was surprised to discover a hole cut into area above air handler. I explained that it was done by his colleagues during the previous visit to try to force me to buy an ultraviolet light, which I stated I was not interested in three times. I spoke to the office and asked them to note on my account that I am not interested. They assured me this behavior would not be displayed again. I was quite pleased with the tech who came on this last visit.
