Tony's Unique Upholstery

After joining Angie's List, I looked for an upholsterer to help recover the cushions on my queen-sized sofa bed. Though I live in a city with many upholsterers, I could not find one that any of my friends recommended nor can I usually speak their language. So I called Tony's and from reading the reviews on Angie's List, it was like I had known them for a long time. Karen answered the phone and she was wonderful. Not only did she listen to my needs, she did not try to push me into purchasing what I did not feel that I needed. Rather than have the entire couch recovered, I only wanted the cushions replaced and covered. She asked for pictures which I emailed to them and she called me early the next morning with an estimate. She gave me numerous options to meet my price range including looking at material already in their shop for a lesser cost. My daughter and I went to the shop and found some lovely corduroy that would meet our needs. Knowing that my family was coming in for the holidays, Tony and Karen worked hard to have my cushions ready before that date. When my husband and I picked up the finished cushions, it was comforting to hear Tony speak of his absolute love for what he does - the joy he feels when he brings people joy in seeing their furniture redone so it looks beautiful again. Having someone who enjoys his work is a blessing. When the time comes to have the entire couch recovered I will definitely take my couch to Tony's.

The work Tony did was exceptional. The sectional came back looking brand new. The matching of the leather was unbelievable. Everybody who sees the work can't believe it and ask for his number.

They were just as pleasant as can be. We took pictures and sent them. We paid a little extra for them to come down. They were able to match the fabric with the pattern. They even ran out of fringe on one of the fabrics and found something they could used that matched perfectly. We were in a rush and they got it done on time. We couldn't have been happier. They were delightful.

They were the nicest people I have ever dealt with, and they did wonderful work. They did exactly what they said they would do from the first phone call to the delivery. The price was extremely fair, and the people were delightful to deal with. I couldn't be happier.

Came and gave estimate for time & work to re-stuff sagging sofa. Work was done as promised and on time. No real issues or complaints. I thought it was very costly for what was actually done, but the estimate was clear and there was no additional charges so I can't really complain if I choose to have the work done.

OMG... The workmanship is out of this world. Tony is and ARTIST in his craft. What I had Tony do was make 12 removable cushion covers in a high end faux suede for the bottom cushions of my leather sectional. Now don't get me wrong I love my leather , but the faux suede and the workmanship is so beautiful, I think my couch is prettier with the removal covers on than without. Karen, who is the exceptional service rep. Her attention to service is beyond perfect.She knows her fabric, she knows the companies to deal with and she has style. I'm going to have more of my furniture done as soon as possible by them The service was done in 24 hours once they recieved the material and my cushions. So of course I'm thrilled. Karen came to my home we picked out fabric, then I waited a couple of weeks for the sloted time that they would be available to do my covers. Then only 24 hours later I had my covers. ALL twelve of them.

The folks at Tony's were extremely helpful, patient and professional. They called us to give us a date for delivery when they told us they would call us and the chairs were ready when they promised. We could not be happier with the quality, the chairs and the entire process.

From the moment I called Karen to get a quote to the very end of the services rendered, Karen and Tony were very responsive, detailed, organized and lived up to every expectation we had of them. I called Karen and she came down to give us a quote for the job. She was punctual, professional and offered knowledgeable opinions based on our needs. Once we decided to use their services, Karen assisted me in finding almost a perfect match for the fabric we wanted since the original had been discontinued. They picked up all of the seating that needed to be reupholstered - the contents of an entire 7000 sq foot restaurant and returned the seating in a timely manner prior to the date that it had been promised. We visited their workshop to check on the progress of their work and found it to be organized and clean. While the work was being done, Karen kept me informed either via email or by phone of their progress. We had a nail biter situation where the fabric we needed was on back order but Karen kept in close contact with the manufacturer and it all worked out in the end. The delivery and subsequent re-installation of the furniture was effortless since Karen had kept detailed records of where the furniture had been positioned. I cannot stress enough how meticulous and wonderful this company is. On top of that, they are honest, hardworking and super nice to boot. I would gladly use their services again and would wholeheartedly recommend them to both family, friends or other businesses. We are just completing work and I will be posting pictures of their beautiful work momentarily. Thank you Karen and Tony - we hope to see you attire grand opening in about a month!

I called and spoke with Karen ( very nice ) about what I needed.. we discussed a price which seemed fair, plus an additional fee for pick up and delivery.. also a fair price. Tony came... on time and was a pleasure to deal with. He was in and out quickly, and able to turn the job around within a few days. They did a great job at the price agreed upon. We got the company from Angies' List. The couches were beautiful as were the cushions. We are certain to recommend these people and us them ourselves.

Looked for a highly rated upholsterer in our area and found Tony. His office manager, Karen, responded to my initial e-mail asking for an estimate. After exchanging photographs of each chair, she gave me the quote and we arranged for pick up. Tony and an associate picked up the chairs as well as one of the bolts of material; the other two had not come in. They arranged for me to drop the material off at their site, which I did, a few days later. The chairs were delivered and placed in their respective places and all look wonderful. The repair work, Tony did on the one chair and the new cushion he recommended for another chair, made a world of difference. Tony and his crew are easy to work with and Karen's responsiveness to all my questions and changes was top rate.

Overall experience was great, they were very helpful in picking out material, and the job was completed much quicker than estimated. We would definitely use them again.

Tony and Karen were wonderful to work with! They returned my calls in a very timely manner, picked up the chairs and unfinished needlepoint and returned the work in a little over one week, and communicated during the entire process regarding details of finishing. The craftsmanship is beautiful. I would use Tony's Unique again and recommend them to my friends.

We found Tony through Angie's List; he has great reviews, so we decided to try him out. There were 10 dining room chairs that needed to be reupholstered. We took 2 of them to Tony's shop so that he could give an estimate. While waiting for Tony to become available (the man is BUSY!), we went into a waiting area to look at some fabric selections with Karen. There was a lot to choose from and we finally selected one that worked for us. Tony walked over and gave us an estimate for the labor and Karen calculated the entire bill. We arranged for Tony to come to the house and pick up the remaining 8 chairs and then have all 10 chairs returned to the house when they were finished. What a pleasure to do business with! They were both very professional and downright charming! Tony delivered the chairs about 3 weeks later, and he did a fantastic job! The fist time I used Tony's services was to upholster a corduroy couch I had. The fabric was bad, however the frame was great quality and still in excellent shape. So, I decided to keep the couch as opposed to purchasing a new one. They did, from start to finish, an excellent job (including providing spot on estimates and showing up for all appointments on time). In addition they provided several options in terms of the different materials I could use within my price range. The end product was amazing - I would venture to say better than when the couch was brand new. The attention to details was something that really made a difference and the stitching on all of the pillows was perfect. Everyone thinks this is a brand new couch. When they delivered the couch, I learned that they also provided window treatment services. Since I had just built a brand new house, I called them up for a free estimate. Karen provided again, spot on estimates and several different options in terms of material I could work with. I went with shutters for all the bedrooms (5 in total with 6 large windows) and custom drapes for the living and dining rooms and a french door in my master bedroom. Here, again, no disappointment. From start to finish, they did an amazing job. The shutters were perfectly installed and they look great on all bedrooms. The drapes (actually an idea Karen offered as I had originally planned shutters throughout the entire house) were custom made for the dining room, living room and MB french door and look very nice. During her first visit to take measurements, Karen brought a lot of fabric samples and really offered great advice in terms of material and finishes (rods, finials, etc), which made the drapes go really well with the color of the walls. So, bottom line, it was a pleasant surprise to learn that Tony's Unique Upholstery offers window treatments. At first, I was a bit skeptical, as most reviews I had read were for their great work in upholstery. I would strongly recommend their work to anyone thinking about either replacing or purchasing brand new treatments. They offer great quality, are extremely professional and most important, are willing to work with you to meet your budget without affecting the quality of their work. The project might sound pricey, however I have a total of five bedrooms, plus living room, dining room and a french door. No one offered me an estimate close to the one I got from Tony's.

Contacted through Angies List, all email communication and estimates with photos. They picked up the furniture and delivered it back in about 2.5 weeks.

They were professional. But, I had to remind them to send the estimate. My overall experience with them was good.

The work was immaculate, prompt, and professional. My fabric had large deco designs that Tony matched up perfectly. The workmanship was top flight. I will recommend Tony's Unique to everyone I know in need of upholstery, Added bonus: Both Karen and Tony were a pleasure to deal with -- friendly, nice, immediately responsive. What a terrific experience!
