The first time they contacted me about taking photos of the home I was 5 days postop from abdominal surgery. My house wasn't staged to sell, it was lived in, as any rental property would be. In addition to my poor state of health at the time, I have small children who have toys and kids things around the house. They reported to the property owner that the house was "filthy and cluttered with kid stuff." Which is interesting given the $400/month we paid for our housekeeper. When Sherilynn contacted me to show the house I told her that 3pm was during the time when our nanny was in and she didn't drive. She pushed on anyway stating "I don't see why she can't take the baby outside." So I reluctantly agreed that the nanny would take the baby out to the driveway while the house was being showed. I arrived home 1 hour after the showing to find my baby and nanny still outside waiting because no one had shown up to see the house. Shortly after that an agent and potential buyer showed up wanting to see the house. When I asked the agent why they hadn't arrived when they were supposed to she explained that the buyer had gotten lost and that they had contacted Remax on the Coast to let them know in advance they would be an hour late. Remax, however, decided not to notify us of this, even though they knew our infant was sitting outside in the summer heat waiting. Then, while on a family vacation, they contacted us about a showing. When I asked how they would manage it with our home alarm set I was told by Sherilynn "give me the code and I'll have someone meet the buyers agent." I was a bit concerned about "someone" having my master code and felt like I had the right to request that if I gave the code to Sherilynn that she be the party who kept the code and managed the showings. However when I requested this of her she sent me this text "I have already told them no. I find your comments extremely offensive. Not appreciated. We can discuss the sale oif the home when u return. I will delete your message with the code." Later I discussed this with my friend who is a practicing real estate attorney in Florida and he told me that the law states only the 1 agent who was given a rental code can show the property, therefore Remax would have violated that law by sending "someone." We spoke with the homeowner during this process and found out that remax had told him that we refused all showings and that our house was too dirty to show. We requested that he visit the home for himself and offered to provide him with copies of all the texts exchanged with remax, as the things they told him simply were not true. My overall experience with Remax on the Coast was disappointing and unpleasant. Numerous times during the 2 years we rented with them we had trouble getting repairs made on the home. When the dishwasher broke they suggested we wait for a few days and see if the water standing in it would clear itself up. Needless to say it didn't and the repair took 3 additional weeks. When the light above the stove went out and a simple bulb change didn't work they had their handyman take a look. He stated it would be a "big job" to fix. Remax requested that we just live without the light. When we pointed out that for nearly $3000/month we should have repairs fixed appropriately they reluctantly called in an electrician who changed the fuse in about 2 minutes and left. Things like this were constant. I point these things out because I feel like it demonstrates and general lack of concern and care for customers and their properties on the part of Remax. We were renters only because we are building our own home. Not because we aren't trustworthy or because we are financially irresponsible. We did however receive almost a full deposit refund, as the house was very well cared for. Again, a contrast to the "filth" that existed during the showing process. The bottom line is this, they treated us badly and took shortcuts with this property
Description of Work: Remax on the Coast was our rental management company. We paid $2900/month for 2 years. When our lease was expiring at the end of the second year, they listed the house for sale.
