I was hopeful when we hired Bryan to remodel our bathroom because we hoped he would be able to do a few projects for us. I’m glad we waited because hiring him was definitely a bad choice. We asked him to add certain features to our new shower and he ended up talking us out of it, now thinking back I don’t think he wanted to do the work. The final result of the shower was mediocre, the tile is not straight and there are noticeable flaws in his work. The worst part of the project was the flooring, we had him install tile floors and it is so uneven that the door doesn’t even open without getting caught on the tile. Please do your homework and hire someone else.

Hired him for a exterior job ran over budget but I gave him a second chance to remodel kitchen and baths. Really bad workmanship, took beautiful new cabinets and butchered them. Left things undone said he would be back and wanted to be paid in full. He is always asking for money upfront wants to be paid before the job is complete,

Bryan installed the crown molding in the wrong direction; going inward instead of outward like a “crown”. He said this is how he has done it in the past but he re-installed the molding when I asked. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough full pieces so he had to piece the molding together to have enough to redo and there is a large gap in the front corner of the molding. There are also gaps between the drawers, spotty adhesive shows along the trim pieces, and the drawers are damaged at the corners with the finish “chipped” off. He referred to the damage as “scuff” marks and said I knew about it but the boxes were unopened until he opened them and he never told me they arrived damaged so I had no opportunity to return them. When I told him I didn’t know about the “scuff” marks because the boxes hadn’t been opened he said he had no reason to lie and refused to communicate with me further or do anything to fix the problems with the poor job he had done. Don’t use this person.

Brian was expensive, nickel and diming me for every little item. He was late or missed every appointment but most disappointing about this project was the quality of his work. As a carpenter, the expectation is a great attention to detail, that is not what you will get if you hire Brian. I had to continue to ask him to come back to finish up items (taking time off work), eventually Brian just refused to come back. The last conversation he told me, that is a simple fix (caulk around the cabinets to close the noticeable gap), he said : "You can just finish it up". Mind you I'm 8 months pregnant and I've paid Brian very good money to install our cabinets in a professional/workmanlike manner. In addition, he didn't measure properly the install of my back cabinets so his solution was to cut out my door frame. As you can image, this just looks horrible!!!! There are so many people that care about the quality of their work, helping you as homeowner with an important project, Brian is NOT one of them. You will be disappointed and frustrated if you use him.

Hes a sweet talker he will con you for the money .. Beware ...... HORRIBLE... To many pics to list besides the pile of garbage we needed a dumpster for he left in the middle of the garage.. Do not give him a dime until he is finished and watch his work, if you dont have knowledge to make sure the job is right choose someone else..
Description of Work: I had Bryan at our newly bought old home to do some drywall work and work before we moved in he was to remove some soffits in the bathrooms and remove the ceiling in the kitchen with the cabinets and re-sheet rock the walls and ceiling 12 X 12 kitchen. It went absolutely horrible his workmanship is terrible instead of putting nailers behind the sheetrock he would screw at a 45 degree angle to catch the stud off to the side. he would only use about 6 screws per 5/8 x 8 sheet. He wasted more material than was installed ( we bought the material) everything he cut to fit was so bad he had to fix his on newly installed stuff. our cabinets were damaged in the process. He collected $875 dollars from us to start the job needless to say he didn't finish and we did not receive money back BEWARE OF THIS MAN ..

This is a portion of a letter that we sent to Mr. Young of Master Handyman. It was sent certified, but he never responded to the letter itself. I have pictures of the bad job that he did. I would not recommend him to anyone. Let me preface this by saying that we are very pleased with the job you did on the french doors. However we are very disappointed with the way you performed the job on our porch. But even more than that is the unprofessional way that you have handled the communication with us when we have tried to contact you. We have called you and left messages and you haven't had the courtesy to return those calls. I left you a message offering a solution to the problem and you have not even had the decency to respond or return the call. As a professional you should have given us a written estimate, as it stands I do have the text message where you quoted us a price. A week long job, you managed to stretch to almost two months. Because of this we had to cancel three family and friend functions that we host monthly or yearly. Several times you were supposed to come and finish the job, we made arrangements to be home or have someone open the porch. You called at the last minute and told us that you were stuck on another big job. If you do not have the man power to do a couple of jobs at a time you should not start another large job and then do a sloppy job. Our mistake was to give you draws against the "bill" because you cried the blues. It seems that after the last draw, you decided that the job was done. When asked to come back and fix some areas, you did come back, once and replaced a couple of tiles. But that didn't work, I then contacted you to come back and you returned on November 20th. When you came my wife took off of work for a while to meet you at the house. She showed you what had to be done. I should have known when the comment made to my wife was "I will try to make it as perfect as possible" that there probably would still be issues. If you weren't doing the job, then I will give you the benefit of the doubt that perhaps you weren't aware of the mess left behind that day. The mess that was left that afternoon was unacceptable. Not only did you or your helper not finish the job, but you also left boards with a cement block on it to "hold" down a tile. Not to mention the tiles hadn't been replaced or grouted in. My back yard at the door was destroyed as well. When the job was supposedly complete the first time with the exception of a few tiles needed to be replaced I had new blinds installed. When my wife came home after the last time you were there (November 20th) they had cement on the bottoms of the blinds. This was all due to cement just being slopped on the floor. That is the only explanation for how cement gets from the floor to the windowsills and on the blinds, not just one blind but several. We had to "fix" the tiles at the back door because they were loose with a hollow sound. When we pulled them up, there wasn't even enough cement or mortar , to hold the tiles stay in place. One tile only had a small about under it. In the beginning you were told to use a self-leveling agent and you said you didn't need to that you could do it with cement. But that didn't work, that is probably why there doesn't seem to be a row on the porch that is level. Several of the tiles have the sharp corners sticking up which have caused toe stubbing incidents. You also left cement all over the walls at some points the mess was two feet up the sides of the walls. While doing the step down from the house to the porch, you cemented them, because you said tiles would be too much to put there. Ok, that could be painted so I agreed to that, however, you have so much cement on the step of the single door that you cemented it shut. I finally forced it open, but it still sticks when trying to open it. You kept telling me that we needed more tiles, more grout etc. We purchased what you told us was needed for the porch, but it seemed like there was always something else needed. You told me that you had to thin out the grout to have enough for the job. We then purchased more grout so you could do the job right, but you didn't even fix the first set of lines. All of the grout lines are still horrible and some don't have much grout in them at all. Everything is an uneven color. When you washed the grout lines you left grit all over the floor, so the tile now has a grainy feel and the color is not what it should be. Because of the issues mentioned I am having to have the job completely redone. As mentioned in the message I left you, which I can only assume you ignored and possibly deleted, because you never returned the call or even acknowledged the proposal I made to you. Now the job is going to cost us an additional $2350.00. I offered you an option of paying us the $2350.00 all at once or $500.00 a month until it is paid off. Since you haven't responded either way , I will have no choice but to take further actions.

Bryan did an excellent job in retro-fitting a new office door. He had some serious challenges in dealing with a poor opening created by another contractor. He was punctual and came back twice to ensure the job was done thoroughly. He under promised and over delivered. I plan on hiring him again in the future.
Description of Work: Bryan hung my office door. He took a square opening and installed a double arched door.
