After returning home at 6:30 PM and finding the air conditioner not working, I called Modern. The phone was answered by a real person and after some technical questions said a service rep would call within 15 minutes. Joe called in 5 minutes and said he would be here in 30 minutes. He arrived in 20. Found the problem and replaced a sensor and was on his way in 20 minutes. Joe was great. Modern truly offered emergency service,

I can not speak highly enough of the the work the two Modern & Anderson techs (Rick Mead & Chris Jamison) provided while installing a new air conditioning and heating system (compressor, air handler, thermostat) on December 29, 2014 in a third floor condo.
Their work was CLEAN (vastly superior to the previous installation) and there were no missteps or sloppy execution in tight quarters. It seemed as though the the guys always went the extra mile to get it right and the installation was one of the best I've ever seen.
The Modern & Anderson price was competitively excellent and I recommend this company to anyone who along the SW Florida Gulf Coast who needs AC/Heating work or service done.

It went very well from beginning to end. Sales person was very timely in getting there. Said the job would take a day and it did. After inspecting the work I decided they did a really great job.

I first used this provider last year for routine maintenance. There was a ?deal? on Angie?s List. I was satisfied. This recent visit the technician was prompt, professional, and provided routine maintenance. He found the refrigerant may be a bit low so advised me to call and schedule a service call and they would come out and test the system and add refrigerant that would of course be additional to the service call. Why did I need to pay an additional $79.95 service call when he was already there? Other a/c companies have added refrigerant if needed at the time of the routine maintenance visit. This policy didn?t make sense to me.

We needed a new A/C and we called Modern and another company. Modern's salesman "Rob" was prompt, knowledgeable and had the best price for a great quality system. He did not pressure us or try to sell us something we did not need. We are very happy with their service and products.

They fixed the problem right away and told us the service contract that includes just about everything. We have since had them for a few things and they do actually standup for that. They have not charged us for any of the other calls. Their service is wonderful. They solved the problems that we had with the company that I used before. They solved them right away. They are here when you call them. I would highly recommend them. I would absolutely continue to use them again in the future.

Modern did a great job overall. I received 4 prices from AC contractors. Modern was not the lowest nor the highest. They did price a better unit with a 10 year warranty. The manager who worked on the price for me was very helpful in explaining the options, the benefits of the unit I selected and the warranty. Modern also was very helpful in scheduling the work around my schedule. The installers were very professional, showed up on time and worked hard all day. When they were done they cleaned up their work and made sure everything worked as it was suppose too. The final inspection had to be done about a week later and again the office staff worked with me to make sure it was done to fit around my schedule. This company is truly well run. Spending a little more money than the low "bid" was well worth it. You know the saying you get what you pay for. We are big fans of Modern Service and would not hesitate to give them a thumbs up to anyone who is considering using them.

Modern provided our small business excellent service and responsiveness at one of our rental properties. Initially, we were not of the mind to replace the entire A/C system because we wanted to wait until the current tenant moved (9/30). The old system failed twice and Modern performed the service on both occasions. By the second call, we realized we had to have a new system rather than throw good money after bad. We obtained three bids as always, Coastal Cooling, Inc., Core Air Air Conditioning and of course, Modern. Not only did Modern come in with the best pricing but they did credit us some of the money we had just spent on service calls/repairs. They also included many items which the other proposals didn't even mention. Modern worked in a very professional & timely fashion, and even scheduled the county inspection for the following Monday. We were extremely pleased with their work.

They are a very great company. They offer good service. They always come within two or three hours after I call them. If you don't have enough money up-front, you can always pay it over three months. They have no problems with that whatsoever.

Modern service was sent out by my Home Warranty company. I called on a Friday, but they said they could not come until Monday because my home warranty would not cover weekend work. They showed up on time and got the unit working. The part they replaced failed again last week (5/26/11). I did not renew with my Home Warranty Company First American, (it seemed nothing was covered). When the cover was removed, I found that the part was installed with the cardboard box covering it and held in with electrical tape. The air conditioner only ran about 3 months before the part that was replaced failed.

"Customer’s unit was 14 years and in poor condition at the time of the service call last year. Technician advised customer that the unit was at or near the end of its useful life and recommended that the system be replaced. The customer opted to go with the repair to extend the life of the unit. Capacitor box on or off does not impact the functionality of the capacitor and at times is left in the box due to mounting difficulties associated with different styles. Several things can cause the failure of a capacitor; such as the condition of equipment, voltage variances from the power company, as well as voltage spikes and brown outs from storms. The defective part was covered by a one year parts and labor warranty. While we cannot control the quality of a repair part that we did not manufacture, we would welcome the opportunity to honor the one year parts and labor warranty. The customer did not give us the opportunity to replace the defective part. We have spoken with the customer to explain the circumstances. She has subsequently purchased a new air conditioning system and has no issues with us."

I don't have a plan with them, but they are reasonably priced. I give them a call every year and they come out. They come out to check if everything is running properly. They have always done a good job. Whenever there is a problem they get right on top of it.

I was very happy with them. The only reason that I did not continue with them was because their annual service contract was very expensive. They did annual contracts and I could not afford that. Their service was excellent and they did a great job. I think they had offices in Fort Myers and Naples. I am not sure if they were based out of Fort Myers but they covered both the areas. Their price was too high.
