Vaughans Door Service

I have an old sliding door that was VERY hard to open, and was looking to replace it. Unfortunately, replacing this door would be costing between $3500 to $4000 due to it's size. In calling Vaughans, they suggested replacing the rollers to be more cost effective. I finally decided to do the roller replacement, and am very happy with the results. Dan was prompt and quick, explaining as he did his work, and using quality replacement parts, not the cheap stuff. He replaced the worn track as well, and had the door on, adjusting it so it met his standards. It now slides w/ 1 finger! Dan also fixed the lock, which hadn't been working. In a couple hours, the door was working like new! I would HIGHLY recommend this company and would use them again.

Dan showed up on time explained what needed to be done to repair the problems and did an outstanding job. Explained as he went along and made minute adjustments to the door operation that i didn't notice. He obviously thats great pride in his work. If you need door repair don't call anyone else. I spoke with Dan himself on the phone and received a quote. I made the appointment with ease and was able to get an appointment the following morning. He showed up on time and was very professional. He noticed that my front door needed some adjustment and said he would do it for me at no charge even before I showed him the sliding doors that needed to be fixed. Work was done with care and completed with attention to detail. He was very friendly but efficient in his work and cleaned up after the repair was complete. I spoke to Dan and got the priceing for the work, from the least possible to the most the job would cost. I made the appointment with ease and was able to get an appointment the following morning. Spoke with Dan himself on the phone and although it was a problem that he does not tend to, he spent a long time discussing the issue and advising me as well as steering me in the right direction to find a company that will be able to assist me. If this is how he deals with people that he cannot get business from as the problem is not something he fixes, then I would imagine that his service is exemplary and I will certainly use him in the future if I have a need. Dan was fantastic and well worth a call.

Tina accepted an appointment for the next day. Dan arrived right on time and did an excellent repair to make the double sliding door work easily and smoothly. He replaced the roller bearings at the bottom of each door. Dan was very friendly but efficient in his work and cleaned up after the repair was complete.

Scheduled appointment, worked around my schedule, & came as promised. Work was done with care and completed with attention to detail. VERY friendly. They were all around great to deal with and I am very satisfied with the outcome. Have already recommended to friends. He was a genuinely nice guy with visible moral character... Although you may not be looking for that is a contractor... It's a plus when you see it. Need a door, call them. Not the cheapest you'll find, but very fair pricing.

He made sure the view finder in the door was at the appropriate height for my "vertically challenged" mother-in-law. Dan was very prompt and professional. He explained everything he was doing and made suggestions to improve the longevity of my door.

Spoke to Dan on the phone and received a quote. He came out to do the work very quickly and I had to replace a new part so it cost a little bit more, which we were okay with. The door opens and closes so smoothly now that it took me a few days to remember that and not pull so hard to get it open. It was fun to watch my kids reactions (whom I didn't tell) when they came by and went to yank the door open. It has been bad for years and recently got worse before Dan repaired it. He was very professional and very nice. We couldn't have been happier. We are waiting for him to contact us with an estimate on replacing the front door.

We contacted Vaughn Doors on Friday to replace an outside, steel clad door for $625. The start time for this job was 10:00 am, but the installer called and stated he would be late. Entirely acceptable. When he did arrive, I waved him into the driveway of the vacant house next door, since it would be close to the door to be replaced. When he started to back in, he drove across the grass between the houses, causing my wife to ask him to stop and back in straight. He pulled out, sat in the middle of the road for 10 minutes on the phone, then drove away with no explanation. Our calls went unanswered at first, then we left a message on the company answering machine. Noone returned our calls, so I called today(4/10) @ 11:45, and was rudely told simply that "the job would not be done by that person". I asked if there was an emergency yesterday, causing this behavior, and she reiterated what she said to me. I asked if the person had been fired, same non-answer. She then hung up. I had to check my calendar to see if somehow it was April 1st again. I have never been treated so rudely by ANY COMPANY at ANY TIME. I am also amazed to see this company has such high marks. It is inconceivable to me that, after all of the companies I have employed through Angie's List, this one would turn out to be a rotten apple. Beware of VAUGHN DOORS-they might be having an inexcusably RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL day. I think you will see that, after at least 15 reviews I have written, this is the only time I have given the company less than an overall "A". CER

Everything as you would expect from a highly rated provided on Angie's List. Promptly returned the call, arrived on time for the quote, found a solution for a strange problem, and performed the installation when he said he would. No drama, things simply got done. By the way, the precision rollers they install are worth every penny. My 25 year old sliding doors are now gliding as if they were on top of a cloud.

The guy is straight-up, no nonsense and professional. He doesn't mince words, tells you exactly what's wrong, what he'll do, how much it will cost...and then gets down and does it. The work was superb.

I can only rate these guys the highest rating of A since Angie doesn't have A+. I have an interesting situation that finds me replacing my non-standard door once every couple years. This last time however, the door lasted only a year. I knew I had the right company when Dan came out to survey the job to be done. As he explained what he was looking at and what needed to happen I was more encouraged that I would be finally rectifying my issue. He totally explained everything and I made mental note of the fact that he seemed to enjoy what he does for a living. When you find someone like that, you don't mind paying a little extra because there is a sense of pride a person like that takes in doing a good job...and that's what I wanted to have done! And frankly, that's what I got!! Dan was professional in his service performance and just a down to earth nice guy. I have no negatives to provide. He cleaned after himself thoroughly and placed items back in their original places where he found them. Would definitely use and highly recommend Vaughans Door Service.

I contacted the provider on Tuesday and got a reasonable quote. They called right back with a proposed schedule of within 48 hours. The day before my appointment, I received a call confirming the appointment, and was advised that Dan would call when he was son his way. The next morning, I got a call from the office with a time for my appointment, and Dan arrived 15 minutes early!! I've never heard of such a thing, not only timely, but early. He proceeded to assess my issue, as mine was old screen doors, that appeared not to fit my tracks. He then came up with a good solution to fix the broken, never-before working doors. not only did he fix the doors in question, but he recognized and corrected the problem with the sliding glass door the screens protected. Then, to top it off - he noticed a problem with the lock on m y front door and fixed that - free of charge. As well, he worked cleanly - cleaned up after himself and was done in no time flat!! Ive already referred Vaughan's Door Svc to some of my staff - I cant say enough good things about this experience. What a great experience, as this was my first time using anyone from Angies List - what a great idea!!!

The serviceman arrived as promised and was very professional and courteous. He repaired 7 panes of sliding glass doors, as well as the track on a 3 pane slider. The doors went from being unable to move to gliding effortlessly on the tracks. Excellent service.

He did an excellent job, was very professional. I don't remember the sliding door or screen door ever working so quietly and smoothly.

Professional, excellent service that was worth every penny. The installer arrived on time and fixed every door problem in our home. Before he arrived, our closet doors required an adult to open. Now my eight year old can open all of our closets with ease. I will not search for any other company to fix our doors.

He also conjured up a way to fix a slightly deformed steel front door so it opens and closed quietly and easily. He was very professional and knowledgeable.

All was outstanding! !!!! Dan showed up on time and was extremely professional. New exactly what to do and went to work. from start to finish everything went without a hitch. The door came out perfect! !!! when Dan finished the job it looked amazing the door rolls perfectly without any noise. it almost works like new. everything was cleaned up and no mes left for me to clean up. just a note. they were not the cheapest i found but Remember you get what you pay for.you pay less that's the kind of work you are going to receive. Our sliding doors are probably 30 years old and some of the rollers were frozen. Opening the doors meant scraping the door along the track -- they didn't slide any more. I called Vaughan's Door Service based on the great reviews on Angieslist. Tina scheduled the job for the following day and she also called ahead to let me know that Dan was on his way. When Dan arrived, he set to work removing the old rollers and replacing them with new ones. Now the doors glide as if they're floating on air. I wish we had done this repair long ago! It's now a pleasure to go in and out to the patio. The doors used to be so heavy and a struggle to operate. Now we can open and shut them with one finger.

Less than 24 hours ago I logged onto Angies List to find a contractor to fix my patio door. After 15 years of use and a half dozen hurricanes, it would barely roll. I called and Dan Answered. He said he would be in my area tomorrow and will drop by and fix it. He showed up right on time and within two hours my beat up door was rolling like new. He threw in a new lock and even tweaked my tired old front door for free. Sure can't ask for more than that. He even put up with my overly friendly Weimaraner who insisted on helping him. Thanks for a great job. His rates were half of what I was expecting to pay.

He was a pleasure to work with and made a point to tweak and fix just about every door in our house during his visit. I would recommend him without hesitation.
