This has been a very unfortunate experience. I went to Home Depot (2901 Univ. in Sunrise, FL) and selected a water heater that I wanted to have installed in the home I had just purchased. Based on size, placement, etc. I selected one that was between $200-$300. They told me that they would take care of everything and that their installers would pick up the unit I selected, take care of the permit, and come out and install it. They took my name and number and said they wanted to know that the experience was good and I would get a follow-up customer service survey. That was the last I heard from Home Depot. Their installers were Florida Delta Mechanical, Inc. Since I had just started a new job and had no time off I asked a friend to be there and communicate with them. I left her a signed check to give them to pay for the unit and work. When they arrived they did not have the unit I selected in Home Depot, not even the same brand. The cost of the unit was almost twice the one in Home Depot but they said they did not have the one I selected from Home Depot. Since the water heater was leaking and in dire need of replacing I told my friend to go ahead with the work. By the end of the job the cost has escalated to $970, of course, the invoice is not broken down so I don't know what they charged individually for the install, permit, unit, etc. During the install, they did not put in a pan under the water heater, saying by code it was not needed but they could put the old (broken) one back in. Since it was broken I said not to. The first comment from the real estate agent who checked in a few days later and from the City Inspector this past week - "There isn't any pan under it". It passed inspection so it was not required but apparently quality install would have included it anyway (not my area of expertise so I don't know). The most frustrating thing is that they would not take my check from my friend, so she gave them her debit card so the install could move along. Since then, they have refused to put the information in my name or contact as the home owner. The City Permit has her contact number, the company has her number. I've called repeatedly and they say if her name is the one on the payment she is the one contacted for everything. No possible way to change anything. So, when the inspection from the City was scheduled to occur this past week, she was called. She was in another state and informed them she had nothing to do with the house and gave them my number. Needless to say, as the home owner, I am beyond frustrated with this company and will never use them or Home Depot again.
Description of Work: Replaced a first floor water heater that serves the whole home.

I don't think that they measured the door correctly. They gave me a written estimate, but when I went to the store the next day, the estimate went up $200! After the estimate went up $200, I didn't trust them any longer and went to Lowe's. They can keep their over priced and wrongly measured door.
Description of Work: I was going to buy a door, so I hired this company to measure my door way.

I WAS NOT PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY AT ALL. NO ONE WOULD ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING. IT TOOK THEM WAY TOO LONG TO GET THE MATERIALS. I WAS TOLD IT HAD BEEN ORDERED, BUT NEVER SENT, AND THEN WHEN THEY SENT IT, IT WAS THE WRONG PRODUCT.
Description of Work: THEY INSTALLED HARDWOOD FLOORING IN MY LIVING ROOM FOR ME.
