I absolutely can't stand them because they're arrogant creeps. They were supposed to come out and do the install and they screwed me over huge on that so I canceled that whole order. I'm really pissed off with them. I called Home Depot and then I called the store directly before I even went in there because they're a little bit of a drive from me to make sure that that was the store that services my area because I wanted to purchase a storm door and have them install it. "Absolutely, we service your area, not a problem." I went into the store, picked the door that I wanted, talked to them at the special order desk, told them that I wanted to get this door and I wanted to have them install it. They were doing an install special where it was 77 dollars for the install instead of normally 87 so they said, "Okay, here is how it works. We're gonna have an installer contact you to come out the next couple of days to measure the door and make sure that they've got the right size before we order the door. He will make sure that there are no extra work needed to your door frame in order to put this one in. If there is anything that needs to be done, it would be extra which makes perfect sense. I'm like, "Okay, that's fine." Once the installer is done measuring, he'd contact the Home Depot. He'd let them know what the size was and Home Depot would them contact me to make the payment for the door and they would order the door. When it came in, the installer would call me back to come back out to put it in. That was fine but a week went by and I haven't heard a thing from this installer to come measure so I had to call Home Depot back and find out where he was and why nobody called me. He came out that afternoon, measured the door, told me that I needed two extra pieces of wood put in place around my door to build the door out so that the door knob would hit fine. The pieces of wood that he did put in was less than 10 dollars' worth of material. I could've done it myself for probably 6 bucks and it probably would've taken me less than 10 minutes to do the work so I thought, "Well, even if he was grossly overcharging me for the work and the labor, it's not gonna cost more than 25 bucks extra," so I'm like, "Okay, that's fine." He said, "Okay. I'd let the Home Depot know they'll order the door. They'll be calling you to make the payment first and we will get this done. 10 days go by and nobody called me to make payments. Nobody called me and said, "Yes, the door has been ordered." Nothing. I ended up having to call them back again and I'm like, "Seriously, why am I having to chase you down to take my money to get this done?" 25 days had passed at this point in time. They said, "Oh, we're so sorry. We'll try and get this taken care of. We'll try and get this order in place now. Let's get your payment right now." They went through and they said, "Okay, so we've got your door." To begin with, they made me pay 35 of the 77-dollar install upfront which was fine so they said, "Okay, let's get this all sorted out." They're like, "Okay, so we've got the price of the door and we've got the price of our install for 77 minus the 35 you've already paid." Then they said, "Plus," which we're looking at 75 dollars to build that door frame. That is insane. It will take him less than 10 minutes under 10 bucks of material. They weren't even done yet. They've shown a 65-dollar mileage charge and I'm like, "Holy crap. What mileage are you charging?" First of all, nobody ever told me anything about there ever gonna be a mileage charge ever, not even in cursory passing. Second of all, what is the mileage rate this guy is charging since standard mileage rate is 56 cents a mile. I'm like 40 miles from their store but if you don't want to service my area because of the distance, then don't service my area and if you're going to service my area, you'd better tell me upfront there's gonna be a mileage charge and what it will because if I would have know that, I wouldn't have done this whole thing at all. Their added fees ended up coming to more than the stupid door was to begin with. I told them to cancel the whole thing and give me my 35 dollars back. They didn't try to make it right and didn't seem to care. A week went by and I still didn't get my 35 dollars back so I had to call to chase that down. They do not care about anybody. I ended up having to go all the way down there to get my 35 dollars back because they won't be able to do it over the phone but nobody bothered to let me know. I was so livid. Clearly, they didn't care about their customers.
Description of Work: I ordered a storm door from Home Depot under their special orders.
