+ -1 moreKen from AAA showed up on time and was a pleasure to deal with. He had to comeback for a follow up visit after it became clear that repairing the unit was more complicated than it initially seemed. The work was completed about 2 weeks ago and the unit has been working better than ever since. I will definitely use AAA modern air in the future for any air conditioning problems.
Description of Work: My central air conditioning unit needed to be repaired after and serviced after the hurricanes.

+ -1 moreThe technician was very polite and honest. He was diligent in getting to the bottom of the problem and didn't leave until he was satisfied that he had gotten all of the clog out. I ended up buy a maintenance contract, which isn't something I usually do, but I was impressed with his work ethic.

+ -1 moreIt went great! The tech arrived early, since our central air turned off at 3 a.m. I called at the opening time and someone arrived to our home (2) hours later. It was terrific! We didn't know what was wrong. The tech told us later that the motor was no longer working. He contacted the office for a price and relayed the message to me. He also indicated the Angie's list discount.

Everyone I dealt with was very polite and informative. The tech who came out, Rosemund, was also very thorough and knowledgeable. He had my unit up and running in no time. Their price was very reasonable. I was extremely pleased with this company and will use this company again.

+ -1 moreAside from the communication issues listed, the technician was thorough, answered my questions and was nice.
Description of Work: I called a few weeks in advance and scheduled routine maintenance on my air conditioner for my Condo. I made an appointment and was told they would come between 1-5pm, so I took the afternoon off from work to make sure I was home. On the day of service, around 2pm I was starting to get concerned that nobody was coming, because nobody had called to confirm the appointment, so I called the office and was told that I was on the schedule and that there was one service call ahead of me and that they would be there before 5pm. Well, 5pm came around and no technician to be seen, so I called again, and by this time the office was closed and the answering service put a call out to the technician, who then called me to tell me he was still on his way. Once he got here, he did the work requested and was nice and I am happy with the work, but I had to pull strings with my condo association to even allow him to work because he was supposed to be here between 1-5pm when service is allowed in the building, and I would have really appreciated a call to let me know an ETA and/or to confirm the appointment, because I wasted a 1/2 day off work.

+ -1 moreI like Frank, the service technician. He worked quickly and unobtrusively. My service was due right about the time the hurricane hit. They explained there would be a delay because they are fixing actual broken a/cs. But they called back with a date that was only 2 weeks later. One of the things I like about this company if that they will honor your annual inspection even after the contact expires — which I keep doing because the ac didn’t break the price quoted was the cost of my annual contact.

+ -1 moreHad a few small issues related to making holes in the ceiling and fixing a concrete wall. In addition to adding some duct work. Overall the process was very well done. The house is now very cold and the unit is no longer taxed on those really hot days. They were very professional and came back to fix one small issue.
Description of Work: We had a packaged unit - air handler and condenser all in one. Decided to convert to have the air handler and condenser separate. So we had to find room in the house for the air handler. In the process decided to upgrade from a 3 ton to 4 ton unit.

+ 0 moreAAA Modern Air was easy to work with. We asked that they rescheduled the install which was to have been 3 days before Hurricane Irma, no problem. The installation went well. The crew was hard working and efficient. The evening of the install, I noticed that the outside unit was noisy and vibrating more than seemed reasonable. Called the shop the next morning to discuss this. Tony agreed that it was not right and sent a serviceman who installed a new fan motor and fan the same day. I was impressed by the quick response. The outside unit now seems fine. I will gladly recommend these guys.

Not only did he fix the problem but just the way he approached the job by explaining the whole process and telling me what part I need and how much it cost to explaining the measurement he did once he restored the unit to good working order. All this was done for a fair price. AAA Modern will be my HVAC contractor from now on. Thanks guys.

+ -1 moreHer reply regarding the preventative maintenance was they had been very busy but looks like I was due in January. However the technician did arrive the same day around 3:00PM for the emergency call. After inspecting the unit he said the air handler coil was frozen and there was nothing he could do to until it thawed out. He disconnected the condenser unit power and said a technician will return the next day to inspect it. The technician shows up at 4:30PM on Friday the next day takes a look and said the coil should be changed. I said OK do it. The technician calls his manager and after the call tells me they don't want to do it because there is no room to work on it and it should be re-located. I said OK lets re-locate it. Bottom line: 1) They never called me back to even discuss re-locating/repairing the air handler. 2) They never provided the preventative maintenance they contracted with me. To resolve the problem I called another AC company that promptly came out Saturday the next day and repaired the air handler. I would definitely not use this company again.
Description of Work: I called AAA Modern Air on 5/17/2017 to come out and check one AC unit not cooling. I also inquired about why I had not been called to schedule my 2nd preventative maintenance visit as I had paid on 7/18/2016 for a maintenance agreement for them to come out twice a year to do preventative maintenance on my 3 Rheem Air Conditioners (2 years old).

+ -1 moreThey completed the job in a day, very clean and professional, and the unit works great! Our house is much cooler now on a consistent basis. I was most impressed with the amount of time Hans spent assessing our needs and making sure we did not "overbuy" a larger unit than he felt we needed, based on our other concern of the unit running too much and being noisy.
Description of Work: Our old A/C was needed too many repairs so we got quotes for a new unit. AAA gave us the most thorough review of our current system, and when I asked about our existing ductwork, had someone crawl through and tell us what was wrong with our ducts, which no one else had ever offered to do. They also included a year's worth of filters and 2 checks with the service.

I think they knew that the models they were selling had issues, because they had some leaks in them. Two people came out to put them in. They had to fix them because they were under warranty. I had to push, but they did not charge me to fix them.

He was professional and very knowledgeable. Our positive experience didn't end with Angelo. The installers were prompt and communicated to us freely. They made sure we understood what they were doing and why. They went an extra mile for us too. They noticed a leak in our roof and helped up locate it.

+ -1 moreI had this company replace my duct work. During the process I asked them to look at my AC handler. I wanted to make sure it was working properly - I just moved in recently. I am so happy they were willing to do this. We believe they saved us a lot of money. The handler was coated in debris from the rehab work that was done before I bought the home. I then scheduled a coil cleaning with them. What a great company!!
