AAA Modern Air

Air conditioner stopped blowing cold air. Have dealt with this company in the past, and always a good experience, so called them again. The service crew came even sooner than expected, diagnosed and repaired the problem (burned out contacts) very promptly, checked the entire system, and all for a very reasonable price. From the gal who answered the phone, to the guys who did the work, everyone was courteous, professional, friendly, and did exactly what they said they would. These folks are five-star all the way.

rThe service call was on time, efficient, and very professional. Eric, the AC tech, is the best in the business. Thoughout the years, I have had experience with many AC service techs, but none are better than Eric.

AAA installed a new A/C two years ago. When warranty was up by mfr., I renewed through their program. They are diligent with reminding me to schedule regular maintenance check-ups, always show up, always answer their phone, and impart a lot of confidence with their overall manner in doing business. Having experience with a few A/C contractors over the years in SoFla, AAA ranks at the top.

Came out (twice on a Saturday) to keep us cool until the unit could be replaced on Monday.

We were hearing a noise from our central AC. It was sort of a like a sizzling or crackling noise and we saw what looked like sparks coming from the box. Josue arrived on time and after hearing our explanation of the situation, immediately pinpointed the problem to the fuse box. He checked it and determined that it had to replaced, which he proceeded to do. After he finished, he checked everything and made sure that it was working properly. He was very nice and professional. This is the second time I call this provider and they did not disappoint. I highly recommend them.

Great service! Jed was friendly and efficient. Changed the thermostat quickly and offered advise on maintaining my A/C unit in the future.

I intended to purchase and install a Mini-Split that would have an outdoor unit no more than 26 inch high (for my balcony), with a plug in capacitor, high SEER (for tax credit) and extra quiet noise (low decibels) for indoor unit (better sleep). All that information can be obtained in the Specification website of their supplier?s brands. In our future appointment, I wanted salesman to deliver a dignified presentation showing me brand alternatives. Because I wanted salesman to come prepared with the specific information, I gave the questionnaire to service call personnel ahead of time. I spent fifteen minutes dictating and explaining the options I preferred. On the day of the appointment, the salesman showed up unprepared, was not courteous and brought nothing. He had very little knowledge of Mini-Splits and was totally ignorant on installation procedures for a high-rise. He alleged that a concrete wall could not be perforated to take copper lines outside. How else? He was citing a South Florida Code he doesn't know. Then, I showed him another mini split unit, my too big and too loud Mitsubishi Mini Split installed in the exact location, in same high rise with final permit approvals for both electric and mechanical. Salesman was still arguing a lost cause. Regardless of cost, this isn?t the right company to install a mini-split in a high-rise, for sure.

The technician figured out the problem, offered us our choices in repair with the approximate costs. We were pleased with the repair and felt the prices were very reasonable as well.

I called AAA at 3:30pm on a Saturday when I noticed my A/C was on, but not blowing cold air. I received a call back from the technician on call. He was able to get to my house in less than 20 minutes. He did some good detective work to figure out why the compressor was not working after putting in a new capacitor. From time of initial phone call to completion of work was under two hours. I have had a service contract with AAA Modern air for years, and they always do right by me. Pity that there was no pro-ration or warranty on the capacitor that I paid $166 for in April, and had to replace 5 months later.

I was so impressed with the way AAA Modern Air handled my call. Believe me, I was stressed! From beginning to end, they handled the situation with empathy and urgency. I was having baseboards replaced when water was discovered under a baseboard then subsequently the flooring. In an effort to discover where the water was originating from, I contacted the plumber, roofer, etc., but to no avail. I then contacted AAA Modern Air. They were able to come out the same day I called and bring leak detection equipment. More importantly, they sent me the best, Josh! He was so knowledgeable, working like a mad scientist to find the leak source. He was very reassuring and readily offered a solution. .

My home had a double power surge which FPL noted and my A/C wasn't working properly it was running but not cooling. AAA modern air came out and replaced the Capacitor. Though the A/C was running it wasn't as cool as it should be and I asked the repair person if he checked the Freon and he said yes its fine and because the system was so hot it will take time for it to cool. The A/C never cooled properly and 29 days later the A/C has completely stopped cooling just like before. I called them up and told them the problem and right away they start telling me what they are going to charge me. I asked them don't you warranty your work and he said yes but how do we know its the same problem and there is a service charge of $65. I said on your Angies llist web site it says free estimates and he told me that's only for new customers and if they came out they would charge $65. The bottom line is lousy customer service and incompetent work. This was actually the second time I had used them previously I had a clogged A/C drain and they couldn't fixed that either. Bottom line I would never use them again.

On July 21, 2014, I called for a yearly Preventative Maintenance Renewal and paid $150.00 by providing my credit card over the phone. The maintenance appointment was scheduled for 08.16.14 with Lissie at the main office. I was given a window of 8a.m. - 12 noon. I explained the home is a rental home occupied by tenants. I specifically indicated I would be present at the appointment and to have the technician call me prior to arriving at the home with a 15-20 minute window allowing me time to arrive. The home is located in a gated community and I would provide access into the community. I further explained that I wanted a thorough explanation on the receipt of the condition of the coil and overall condition of the unit. Much to my disappointment, I received no call from anyone the morning of the appointment. The technician apparently gained access into the community through a broken gate at the main entrance, drove to the home and the tenant allowed access to the home to perform the preventative maintenance work. I was made aware of this as a result of an invoice I received via e-mail with the signature of the tenant (on the Customer Signature line) of the invoice. First of all, I am the owner of the property! I am paying for the service not the tenant!! After learning of this situation, I immediately called dispatch and spoke with the manager on duty. I was absolutely lived at being left out of this process that I paid for in advance!!! I am not placing blame or fault the technician, Michael Jones "if" he was not aware of my specific request. However, it is incumbent upon the company to accommodate a simple customer request. During the initial call placed on July 21st, in the conversation with Lissie at the main office, I indicated to her that the reason for requesting a thorough explanation on the receipt as to the condition of the coil and overall condition of the unit was because the tenants were not abiding by the requirement to change the filter on a monthly basis and because the unit was installed by AAA Modern Air on 05.16.12, and after paying $3,249.00 for a Rheem Condensor and Air Handler, I wanted to be certain that there was no damage caused to the coil as a result of the tenants negligence. Regrettably, I was informed by the dispatch manager that there was no reference made on the work order to call the owner prior to the technician's arrival and certainly no reference to my request to be present or for that matter specifically indicate on the invoice the condition of the coil and overall condition of the unit. I am thoroughly dissatisfied with this entire situation. Unfortunately, I paid the preventative maintenance agreement in advance and I thought I would have better customer service after having the new unit installed by the company. Very disappointed to say the least!

I have a service agreement with modern air so there was no charge for the visit. The A/C was leaking and they determined the reason was that the drain line needed to be flushed. I would highly recommend AAA Modern Air to anyone that requires a new A/C or requires maintenance on their current air conditioning.

In about a half hour I got a call from the service technician "Michael" saying he couldn't make it because he had 4 emergency appointments that were called in ahead of me and he would have to schedule me for Labor Day or Tuesday if it could wait. I told him I think I figured out what was wrong since there was water all around the condensation pump and this had happened before. He agreed and told me what to do. I did what he said and he called back to see if it was working and gave me other things to be sure and check. He said he would be out on Tuesday and I said I'd call back only if what he'd told me to do didn't work. In a few hours the AC was cooling properly and another technician "Bob" called on Tuesday morning at 7:45 saying he would be out between 8 and noon. At 10:30 he showed up - said it looked like the unit was working fine but he checked everything and serviced the unit completely and we wrote him a check and renewed our maintenance contract for another year. The M.A. was going to expire in 4 days. Timing is strange sometimes. We are very pleased with the service and the technicians and the way they call and let us know what is going on. And if there is a problem, they let us know so we aren't waiting around without knowing. I also noticed the second time I called - the young girl that answered the phone (different than the lady that first took my call) must have been having a bad day because she was kind of snippy, but I simply thanked her for taking my call and told her I'd spoken to the tech on his cell phone and I'd just see the technician whenever he could come out. So sadly, I can see why that one person gave a bad review and an F rating. Sometimes the person answering the phone has just had a bad call and they can be so upset they take it out on the next caller. Too bad it caused that person not to use AAA Modern Air. It's definitely one of the better AC companies out there!

Josue Taleno arrived early, was very courteous and got to work promptly. He serviced the condenser and air handler. He brought up a few issues and replaced a Dual Purpose Run Capacitor (not cheap). Other then the price I am very happy with the service provided.

Provider was very prompt and courteous. He worked very hard to identify and repair my broken air conditioner. He was very fair with charges about work he did. He made every attempt to repair the air conditioner but it needed a new motor so it had to be ordered. We were highly satisfied with his professionalism and dedication.

Tech was very knowledgeable and professional. Completed the job promptly and explained everything thoroughly. Only complaint is i was told between 10am and 2pm and tech was told 4pm. It was same day appt on a Saturday so I was able to deal with it.

They were excellent. They offered a great deal. The whole crew was very, very professional. Price was excellent. They were cheaper.

AAA Modern Air sent out their duct specialist to give me an estimate for some modifications I need to correct my duct system. Angelo was prompt and professional and gave me several options to resolve my issue. He even made a small correction to one section of flex duct without charging me. I am strongly considering using them once I decide if the work is needed.

Bob Ford was in the area when I called to schedule an appointment with Lissie at the office. They sent him right away. I already knew Bob since he was the salesperson I met with initially to get an estimate for a new AC. He is always courteous and knows his stuff. He is able to answer all my questions and I feel that he is very honest and passionate about his work. When my system was installed the guys were also very professional and answered my questions. It was a long prodedure and more involved than I imagined. I'm so glad I trusted and liked Bob enough to order from his company AAA Modern Air!

They provided great work and also offered the best value. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of their service.

One of our two AC units began to leak water onto the floor the evening before we were scheduled to leave town for a week. We turned off the unit and left on our trip. We returned on a Monday night in August to a very warm house. We found AAA Modern Air on the Angie's List website and called them at about 8:00 the next morning. They scheduled a service call for 9:00 am to 1:00 pm the same day. The technician (Josue) arrived shortly after 11:00. He was friendly, courteous, and very professional in his demeanor. He repaired the leak and topped off the refrigerant level in the broken unit. He also performed a maintenance check on the other unit and replaced a weak capacitor. We are very pleased with the service we received from Josue and AAA Modern Air and will certainly call them again.

Went very smooth!!!!! They arrived on time!!!!! :-) They cleaned up afterwards!!! VERY PROFESSIONAL!!!! We are VERY HAPPY with AAA Modern Airs services!
