Overall, this was a disaster. If we didn't finally realize that the panel could be reset, we'd end up being out 2200 dollars. This was the company Miele told us to call. Shouldn't they have known this? In addition, I wasn't aware that if a tech just touches a machine, which are the exact words this owner used, then a repair charhge is due. Avioid this company!!
Description of Work: Oven display panel was dimmed & difficult to see.The tech removed the panel, called the company (Miele), and told me that it would cost $4400 for the part and install. He then called back Miele and gave me good news, it only needed the display part, not the whole panel. It would only cost $2200.00 for the part. I said that I would wait. That afternoon,when my wife got home, she looked at the manual, pushrd the reset button, and lo and behold, !the display panel came back to full intensity. I called back JT Appliance,and was told that if it went out once, the panel was going bad , and would happen again, and It should be repaired. It's been almost 3 weeks, and everything on the oven is fine. I guess I saved $2200.00. But I did pay $200.00 for the housecall and the work to remove the "defective" panel. Also the advice that we should spend the $2200.00. He also looked at our dryer my wife saays makes a "swishing noise, but said he" didn't hear it."He also looked at our trash compacter my wife said was acting balky. I was told it was "fine".He lastly looked at our washing machine for a soap leak, and after removal of a cartridge and hosing it down for leaks, I was told I needed a new one for $275.00 I told him to order it. That night I called and told them to cancel the order. The next day, I called to make sure the order was cancelled. The owner took the call, and mimiced the tech saying that the oven panel would again need to be replaced. i told him He should refund some of tthe $200.00 because because of the misdiagnosis of the oven. Incensed, he said if he touched, the dryer, it was a repair call chargel If he touched the compacter, it was another repair call charge! If he touched the washer, it is another repair call charge! He said that I therefore owed him a lot more money that he didn't ask for, ranted about "people like me,"and hung up on me. Would I recommend this company ? Not a chance.
