Did not respond. Said would look at work, never responded. I guess he did not want the work, but you want contractors to be up front about that rather than lead you on. I recommend against using these types of people

The representative cut approx. 5-6 branches from 7 to 20 ft off the ground. While the branches touching the roof were removed, one that will soon be touching was left. I will have to get that one or hire another tree service. I will probably do it myself to make certain it is done correctly. In addition, the exposed cuts were not sealed and, when I inquired as to why this was not done, I was told that this was only necessary for fruit tress. Don't know if this is true. I'll have to check but would think that this should be a common practice when trimming trees. In short, I would not recommend this company to friends.

They cleaned up like they were never there. The price was reasonable and they did a great job. They came on time and I was very satisfied with their work.

On day before Mother's Day 2012 came home in late afterrnoon and noticed large pine tree at back of driveway appeared to be leaning more than previously. Called American Tree Company and owner agreed to come out next morning (Mother's Day). I went out to look at tree more closely and noticed a large crack in the tree from ground up about seven feet. Called American Tree Company again and told him that it looked as though the tree would fall on my deck before morning. Contractor came out in less than one hour and took down enough of the tree to make it safe until he could come out and finish the following week. This led to me having nine other trees taken out. The contractor did an excellent job with proper cleanup.

American Tree is the best contractor I have dealt with in years. We had a tornado come through here and needless to say tree companies were coming from all over to make a quick buck and they all were very busy. Judy, however responded to my request for an estimate the same day. When she saw our damage, she called her husband, Pat (the owner) who came over a short time later. Judy is a certified arborist and together they took me on a tour of my yard. They described each tree (which were many), pointed out the damage that was done and what (if possible) could be done to save the tree. Their whole outlook was how the tree could be Saved. They were professional, very knowledgable and answered each one of my questions. I had had two other companies already give me estimates before them. They were both large companies. They came in, gave me a quick 10 minute estimate and left. They also both told me a tree had to come down that Pat said didn't (and he explained why) One of the many things that impressed me was when I told them I was getting other estimates, they took the time to explain to me the difference with licenses/insurance and knowledge between a certified arborist (such as themselves) and a company that may do tree work but is in fact licensed and insured just as landscaper. Someone insured as a landscaper is not insured to be up in trees. Judy explained how I could search a company's license on line and told me to never hesitate to ask for someone's insurance. ( I took her advice and when I asked for a copy of insurance from one well known contractor, I never heard from him again). Pat and Judy took as much time as was needed to discuss all my options, even though I was sure they were very busy. They even took time to visit my neighbors when I told them they, too needed estimates. After 4 different estimates, I decided to go with American as felt I could trust them. They had been very upfront with me and I apreciated that. They also offered options other companies didn't such as taking the wood. Many companies wanted no part of that. They exceeded all my expectations. They arrived exactly when they said they would. Their trucks were all well kept and in good shape. Their employees were all clean cut and polite. They spent a full day working on our yard. It was fascinating to watch them take down two 80 foot tall trees. Many times the large limbs had to be lowered to the ground via a pulley system or else it would have taken out my fencing or landed on my deck. They also removed all the trees the storm had taken down, removed all the damage limbs from the rest of the trees, grinded 3 large tree stumps and then cleaned up our yard better than it was before the storm. Pat and his men also cleaned up the damage in my neighbor's yard before mine. For there, he had to hire a crane to lift two very large trees off a shed and lower them to where they could be cut up and removed. Obviously no job is too large for this company. Myself and my neighbors were very pleased with their service. I would highly recommend this company as not only are they true professionals, enjoyable to work with but Pat and Judy have a great sense of humor which was nice coming for a company so busy.
