Keith Roofing

As soon as Hugh Keith Jr. came, he accessed the roof, took pictures of the areas which needed repair. He then explained the entire process, the type of materials that he was going to use, and the reasons for which certain materials are better than other. He quoted me a price and all the problems were fixed the next day. Great service!

Based on Keith Roofing's excellent reviews on Angie's List, I contacted them for an estimate recently for a roof replacement. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Mr. Keith did show up on time and I provided him a thorough description of the work I was looking to have done (slate replacement, complete tear-off and re-roof for a flat roof on a 2 story rowhouse). Unlike each of the 4 other companies I contacted, Mr. Keith didn't go up on the roof to examine the currrent conditions. He left an estimate for the flat re-roof work and a second quote for the slate work on a piece of yellow legal paper in my mail slot. Even if I had been willing to overlook the fact that he didn't examine the roof, the prices were curious to say the least. Mr Keith had priced the slate work at least 8K below the rest of the contractors, and recommended a layover (re-roof) where each of the other 4 highly recommended a tear off and new roof. Interestingly enough, when I called Mr. Keith to ask why about his slate roof price, he back-peddaled and suggested that he wouldn't be able to do the job for 8-10 months despite his prior assurances that he was availble within a 30 day timeframe, which seemed like a pretty convenient excuse. It also seems obvious that he either badly underestimated the job or wants nothing to do with slate work. While I'm sure Mr. Keith does some credible roofing work, I would not go blindly with Keith Roofing based on their Angie's List resume.

Pleased that they stood behind their service, but still unclear if the recent leak was a reoccurance of the original problem, or something new. In any case, think it speaks well of the company that they performed the service quickly, and at no additional charge to me.

This is a father and son company that has a very good reputation in my neighborhood. They had to reschedule once due to rain, but they came within a few days of my phone call to take a look at my roof. Mr.Keith Jr. was very informative and professional. He brought down Polaroid pictures, explained how he would fix the damage to the roof, showed me a sample of the material he would use, and showed me his licensing, insurance and bonding documents. I did not use them because their price was about $1000 more than the other estimates that I received, but otherwise I had a very good impression of this company.

As a realtor, I was helping a someone purchase an FHA 203K property; and needed the roof estimate in case that was the only repair she needed to be approved. Of the three roofing estimates, the one from Keith Roofing to install a new roof was $5200, about $400 less than the closest estimate and more than $1000 less than the top estimate. As it happened, the buyer hired an FHA 203K consultant and general contractor who included the roof work in the overall price. Nevertheless, I am keeping track of the number of Keith Roofing for any roofing work I need to have done. Form my experience, limited though it was, I can see what Keith Roofing is rated A by Angie's List.

The contractor was very prompt the day the estimate was done. He and his son looked over the flat roof and took pictures to show me what they though the problem was. The day they came to repair the roof, he inspected the roof again and then had his crew complete the job. While the roofing project was going on, he fixed the lock to my storm door at no cost. At conclusion, he gave me pictures of the places fixed, and recommended possible other projects his company could do for my row house in the future. Over all the experience was great.

They are very dedicated and guarantee their work. When the leaky area continued to leak they came back and fixed it. They even went on my roof during the rain. I think that they went above and beyond. The only thing is that the estimate was done to quickly and they did more work than just the patches that I needed. I saw them on Angies List and they had a good reputation and I chose them.

I was quite pleased with the overall experience, so much that I recommended Keith Roofing to my father.

He was very prompt and he seemed very nice and very professional, it was just the price was the reason that I decided to go with someone else. We didn't have any other problems with them.

The Keith team (father and son with workers) provided a comprehensively superb service, punctuated by professionalism and courtesy. They provided a competitive bid in a timely manner. Their workers installed the roof efficiently and thoroughly in one day. When I called a year later to have them come back to address a concern of mine, they did so without complaint. When I realized that my concern was obviously unfounded, they were cordial in accepting my apologies for having wasted their time. I cannot think of any category in which I would give Keith Roofing less than an outstanding rating.

It went beautifully. I was a little concerned because the forecast for the very next day was for a Nor-Easter to come through. I was terrified that we would be caught with an unfinished roof. Keith & Company Roofing showed up bright and early with a large crew. They went right to work and because of the pending storm, worked without so much as a break to be sure we had a solid, sound roof before the end of the day. Almost as impressive as the professionalism and speed with which they did the job was the fact that when they left our yard and drive had been carefully cleared of all trash and debris; not so much as a scrap of paper was left behind. I also appreciated the fact that I got a follow-up call within two days of installation and again after the first major storm following installation to be sure all was OK with the new roof. I could not be more pleased. I have referred them to many of my clients in the past and will continue to do so.

Amazing. I called around 9 am and asked if they could assess our roof. I was at work but they said not a problem, they could reach the roof from the sidewalk outside our fence with their ladders. While on the roof, they noted any problems and took Polaroid photos of each. Mr. Keith called me within 2 hours with the news that they had found some minor maintenance work that needed to be done, but alarmingly the roof had become detached from one corner of the house and was being blown up off the attic by high winds. He gave me a cost estimate and said they would do what they could to get the work done by the end of the day. He called me back not 2 hours later to tell me that they had gotten worried about a weather report calling for high winds and hail that evening, so he had pulled all the available men they had on nearby jobs and got them all to work on finishing my roof. In all he'd assembled 9 guys who had taken care of all of the repair and maintenance and replacement by 2 pm that afternoon - right before the storm came. I came to the house to pay the bill at which time Mr. Keith walked me through all they had done, showing me the before and after pictures and explaining why they had used certain techniques and materials. Mr. Keith (and his father, Mr. Keith Sr.) took such good care of us, on short notice, without a contract, trusting that I'd pay when the work was done (which of course I did.) The assessment of what we needed exactly tracked what we'd been told by the home inspector (with the exception of the corner of the roof blowing off!) and I have since called them several more times for other issues. In fact, sometimes they come by the house when they're in the neighborhood and just check around the roof to be sure everything is OK. They are my roofers for life!

Mr. Keith was very professional and pleasant to deal with. He provided me an estimate the day after I called him, which was half the estimate provided by another company for the same work. He also agreed to begin and complete the work the day after I hired him and followed through on that.

Generally pretty well. They were very accommodating in scheduling us before we moved into the house. They also gave us confidence in their methods for using the torch on the flat roof section. The work was done efficiently, and they showed us before and after pictures and kept us up to speed on their progress. We had a miscommunication issue afterward when we inquired about something and told them we wanted to be there when they came out to take a look, but they came out without confirming a time with us and did some further work on a minor item when we might not have gone ahead if we knew why they did what they did.

They are very thorough and considerate. They got the job done very quickly. They got the job done in the time they said they would. They cleaned up very well after themselves. They are very cordial and helpful. They also take pictures before and after to see what they did. Also, if you have any insurance issues, you have documentation.

They were very prompt. They were excellent. They were there when they said they were going to be. They took pictures on the roof so I didn't have to go up there. They showed me the problem and what they were going to do. It started leaking again and I called them back after a year. The warranty had expired and they fixed the roof at no charge. It hasn't leaked since.

It went smoothly and expertly, like the original installation. We particularly appreciate the photos they give us before/after the job. Also, they check their work and ask if you have any questions or problems. It doesn't get any better than that.

They are fantastic. They guarantee the work. When a terrible storm came through a few weeks ago and we developed a leak, they came out within a couple of days and fixed it at not additional charge. They are really reliable and responsive.

Keith came for an estimate a few days after I first contacted him. Began work on the project the day after the contract was signed. He was extremely professional. Always answered his phone. When I questioned the price of his estimate, he told me very directly that for the work that was being done the price he quoted was a fair one. Gave me before and after photo's. He even called me after the first major rainstorm to make sure that there were no problems! He is a pleasure to work with!

They took pictures while they were on the roof to show me what they wanted to do. I thought they did a great job of identifying the problems, explaining them, and proposing remedies. Their quoted price was very good. I did not end up using them; it was between them and another company, and I decided to go with the other company. My reasoning for this was because I was going to have them do another job for me. They were going to install 20-year roof tiles rather than a 5-7 year sealant. Still, I'd recommend these guys, based on my limited experience with them.

They were prompt in coming to give a quote. The quote was very reasonable. They were prompt and efficient in doing the work. They took pictures at 5 each stage of the work as it progressed and let us see it. Fabulous tool.

This was the first time I had used their services. They were really professional and flexible. They came on relatively short notice. They explained everything well and took pictures of before and after the work.
