Impressive work ethic - on-time, efficient & thorough. I appreciated the before & after photos so I could see the improvement. (Also helpful if/when selling my house).

The entire experience was pleasurable. During the visit for the estimate, Hugh Keith inspected and identified in detail problematic areas on both of my roofs while allowing me to observe. The work was performed without any lag time after confirming the agreement, and the entire job was completed between 3 and 4 hours. Before the job started, Mr. Keith fully explained the materials being used and the methods for installing everything. At the midpoint and end of the job, Mr. Keith asked me to view the work performed. The quality of the materials and methods used was most apparent when comparing the new flashing to the old flashing. The new flashing runs ~12" up the adjacent wall compared to ~5" with the old flashing. Also, Mr. Keith allowed me few extra days to move some money around before cashing my check. I am most grateful for this extra bit of courtesy. To conclude, Hugh Keith conducts himself in an extremely professional manner, and I am completely satisfied with the work he and his crew performed. I will definitely use Keith Roofing again.

Once again Mr. Keith and Mr. Keith Jr. saved us in the nick of time. This time we had discovered birds had gotten into our attic and we called to have them investigate possible points of entry. Mr. Keith Jr. came quickly and not only located the source of the problem, he capped off all other conceivable pipes and openings with galvanized steel mesh. While he was up on the roof, he saw a 6-foot strip where the flashing had completely disappeared and another 6-10 feet where it had been ripped up by the late winter - early spring storms and was flapping unsecured, leaving a gap between the roof and the outer wall of the house! Needless to say, they immediately brought their team over and made all of the necessary repairs -- 2 hours before a massive downpour soaked the city. As is their practice, Mr. Keith took pictures of everything -- before, during and after the repairs -- and gave me a complete write-up to submit to my insurance. Excellent, conscientious service, as always!

As with the first time he came, he was very expedient. He took extra time to seal areas that were not related to the roof to make sure holes in my exterior walls or joints between awnings and my house weren't leaking. He did this at no charge. After the first job when he replaced my main roof, he even came back a month later to close my skylight vent and although I offered to pay, he wouldn't accept it. After the second job he performed when he replaced another part of my roof that wasn't the main roof, I still had a leak (it was in an area that he had not replaced so it wasn't as a result of his work) and yet again, he agreed to come back and check it out to see what the problem was (for free). Just like after his first repair job on my main roof, he called back after the first rain to make sure it was not leaking. This was some of the best customer service I've ever seen from a service provider.

I called Keith Roofing due to their high level of satisfaction on Angie's list. I knew I had several leaks and I had put off getting the work done, but I didn't want to wait any further. Mr. Keith Sr called me back immediately and asked for my information. He offered to go past my house and look at the roof and give me an estimate. He called me back later that day and offered to perform the work and told me that it was $2,750. I didn't get any other estimates (although in hindsight, I should have) and asked them to do the work. His sales tactics seemed a bit heavy handed which is why I rated them lower on professionalism. In addition, neither before or after the work was performed did he come in the house to look where the water was coming in and figure out where the leaks were. The whole job felt very rushed and they only spent about an hour (at most two hours) fixing my roof. The cost of the labor and materials felt very expensive relative to the cost and after reviewing more comments on Angie's list, I think this is just a flat rate they charge everyone regardless of the type of work. My problem was that I was traveling out of the country for work, so I was doing all of this over the phone and didn't perform my due diligence like I should have. They did take pictures to prove that there team was there, but it is very hard in the pictures (polaroids) to tell what is going on and what was there before and after so that didn't offer my any comfort although the leads have stopped so they did what I paid them to do. In addition, Mr. Keith kept making reference to my homeowner's insurance although I was paying this out of pocket. They do guarantee their work and when parts where still leaking after they came, they came to fix it the next day which was great of them. However, I felt their sales process is extremely heavy handed and rather than treating me like a customer, I felt like they treated me like a check. They are extremely responsive and they have their team roaming around the city so they are quick. After reading others reports further on Angie's list, it seems like don't respond well to getting anything but an A in everything, but the whole process left an "icky" taste in my mouth so I wouldn't use them again. Update 8/30 - Mr. Keith did not fax a contract, nor did he provide a detailed description of the work to be done over the phone. He did talk about how great the product was that he was using and how it was more expensive but would last for 10 years. The contract was submitted after the work was done. I am not sure how his crew was there for hours since he called me at Thursday morning 8:30am to get permission to have his crew come out that morning and when I arrived at home at 10:30am his crew was finished and no longer there. I have proof that this was the case. With regards to my wanting an emergency repair that point is untrue. Mr. Keith called me on Thursday and told me his crew could come out that morning as it was supposed to rain the next day. I said yes, since it was supposed to be the next morning and based on his Angie's list feedback I said yes. The work was performed on a Thursday, not a Friday as Mr. Keith stated. My issue with Keith Roofing is that they seem to be more interested in churning customers rather than really working with them to create customers for life. As I've stated earlier in my report, my roof has not leaked so the work was done, but my areas where I felt that I wouldn't call them again include their extremely heavy sales tactics and their inability to accept constructive feedback. All businesses should be open to improvement. The issue with the payment is a red herring and had no bearing on my report although there was more than enough money in the account to cash the check, his bank would not let him cash it. That is an issue between his company and the bank. When he did deposit the check, it went through and was not returned.

I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am with Keith Roofing. I had a roof installed a couple of years ago, and everything has gone smoothly since. Not only are they prompt and responsive, but they perform excellent work at much less cost than most roofing companies in the DC area. Mr. Keith is the consummate professional, and it is apparent he takes great pride in his work. I had quotes from other roofing companies, many of which tried to upsell me, and tell me that I needed additional work that ended up being unnecessary. Additionally, I am selling my house, and the inspector said there may be a roofing issue, so Mr. Keith came back and certified that the roof was just fine (although, no surprise to me here. I could have told the inspector this after living through storm after storm with no problems). Just another reason why, especially under the stress of sellling, to rely on Keith Roofing. There is no doubt that I would use them again, and so should anyone else who wants an honest assessment of their roofing needs.

got quotes from several roofing companies, selected from either Angie?s List or Consumer Checkbook. I chose Keith primarily because they indicated they could get to this work quite soon. Other firms indicated they could not get to my project for several months. In a conversation with Mr. Keith Jr., I indicated that I was hesitant about this work, since unlike most other projects where one could easily see the work being done, this work was on the roof and without climbing up a ladder it was difficult for me to confirm exactly what work was actually being done and to what quality standards. I was told that the work crew would take pictures indicating the various stages of the job. (I interpreted this as similar to car repair shops which show you the used parts which were replaced.) Mr. Keith arrived at my home at about 8:30 am on the morning of June 8. He insisted that I write him a check for the entire amount. (In retrospect I should have realized this was not very professional, but I was so concerned to get the work done to prevent further damage to the structure of the house I agreed to do it.) Within about 30 minutes a truck and three young workmen arrived. I left the house at about 10:00. When I returned at about 12:30, the crew and Mr. Keith had already left. I immediately became suspicious that such a large job could be completed within a few hours with little of the cost of $3600 due to material costs. The only materials that were utilized consisted of some wood and two sheets of thin metal. I called Mr. Keith and questioned him about the work. I indicated that I failed to see how a large and costly job such as this could be adequately completed in such a short time. His response was: (1) I should not judge the job by the time, but the quality, to which I responded that time and quality of workmanship usually go hand in hand; (2) to suggest to me that I was making ?a mountain out of a mole hill?, a comment which I found insulting, as I was the client and therefor entitled to ask whatever questions I wanted; (3) that his workers were skilled craftsmen and therefor quite expensive. The workmen were most certainly not skilled craftsmen. They were young men with a decidedly scruffy appearance. I asked about the pictures that I was told would be taken to indicate the progress of the job, and was told that they didn?t have time and/or they forgot the camera. Mr Keith repeatedly said I had ?nothing to worry about? -- to which I replied, I was paying the bill, I had every right to question the bill and the work. He told me he would be contacting me to come over again and go over the work with me. I have not heard from him since. I called my bank in an effort to stop payment on the check and was told it had already been cashed that morning. Keith Roofing was GREAT! They took pictures of everything they did and made sure I understood what they were doing. Their customer service went above and beyond. Not only did they show up early but they called me first to make sure it was ok. I would highly recommend them to anyone for your next roof repair.

They were fantastic. Mr. Keith initially came out to give an estimate. However after we went on the roof and saw how bad it was and we factored in that a very severe storm was coming that evening he offered to pull guys off of other jobs do the work that same morning. This was during an extremely busy time for roofers -- it was after all the snow storms and it took a couple weeks just to get appointments with companies for estimates. So I know he wasn't pulling one of those scare sales tactics. He did me a big favor by offering to do the work that day. In spite of the emergency nature of my work, he and his employees were extremely thorough and repaired additional small issues we had not noticed on our first inspection of the roof. Mr. Keith did not charge extra for any of this. Mr. Keith explained to me in advance the various materials they would be using and explained why they would provide a superior long-term solution to the inappropriate ones used by the contractors who sold me the house. I was also worried about what I thought was a broken joist that I had found in my attic. It would have been an opportunity for him to make additional money, because it had me totally freaked out. Instead he said it actually wasn't actually a joist, wasn't a problem and didn't need to be fixed. Overall Mr. Keith and his crew were punctual, honest, thorough and efficient. It was an added bonus that it is a family-owned company instead of a national chain. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

The company was prompt with their estimate and explained what they recommended in laymen's terms. Hugh Keith (the son of the founder of the firm) took pictures of the areas on the roof where work was required and used them as audio visual aids to explain the work plan. After we decided to have the company do the work, they scheduled it quickly. The crew arrived on time and completed the work within the timeframe that was initially quoted. Hugh Keith took pictures of the completed job to illustrate what had been done. We would use this firm again.

Outstanding. If I could rate Keith Roofing with an A+, I would. Mr. Keith and his father, who runs the company, showed up on time today to provide an estimate on the repairs, some of which were required by my insurance company. He noticed issues before he even got up on the roof, then went on the roof and documented everything with photos. He discovered a number of issues that the home inspector missed when I bought the house recently. Mr. Keith was extremely professional, friendly and explained everything in detail and then provided an estimate. I decided to go forward with the work. He was so concerned about the open flap and other issues, he immediately called 3 of his crew from another job to come do the work on my roof. Within an hour they had come, finished and gone. They even fixed problems that they discovered while working, all within the original estimate. Mr. Keith printed out photos for me of the major things they fixed. He even mentioned the Angie's List discount up front without my asking. This was without question one of the best experiences I have ever had with a professional service provider. Both Mr. Keith and his father are honest, consummate professionals who clearly know their trade.

Keith roofing continues to provide excellent, professional service. I called Keith Roofing on Monday. He took notes and indicated that with the recent wind storm, things were busy but that he would call and make time when it was available. One day later Keith called and indicated he was ready to visit the house and make an assessment. In very little time I was provided an assessment of the situation and we were able to have the repairs made immediately. When I got home I had a note indicating all was taken care of. I continued to be very pleased with the responsiveness, professionalism and quality of Keith Roofing.

I had some small water intrusion after heavy rains. I chose Keith Roofing based on their Angie's List reviews. Mr Keith (the elder) was very professional and courteous over the phone. He arrived promptly and assessed the problem. Since he had a crew nearby, we agreed on a price and they went to work right away. They took "before" photos, and then came back a few weeks later to check the work and took "after" photos which they gave to me to help document the work. Mr. Keith and his workers were all pleasant and professional. The problem was fixed in record time (no intrusion during the next thunder storms). I'd certainly use Mr. Keith's services again and recommend them highly.

He was honest, stating what would be needed for our roof, and that it would be cheaper for us to have a handyman do the work rather than his crew. Would certainly use Keith Roofing in the future.

Hugh Keith was out at our place and on the roof within a day or two of contact. He is very knowledgeable and explained everything. They came out to the house when they said they would be there, did the work in under 5 hours and took before and after pictures to show us b/f we made final payment. I am not sure if the price was good or high. We only had one other price from our contractor and he was more money but there were other things he was going to do. We will use them again in the spring for more work. Highly recommended.

An estimate was done, while we were away, the day after we had called. The work was performed the second day after the estimate due to the time it took my husband and I to think through if the estimate was fair or not. Very high responsiveness considering the coming bad weather. The work was performed while we were in the office but pictures were taken so we could assesshow carefully the work was done. Excellent follow-up and suggestions on other house enhancements at a cheap cost though the work would need to be done by another company. Great experience overall, the price seems OK but high though I have no comparison for this type of work.

Mr. Keith was very friendly; showed up right on time; provided a detailed estimate and explained the needed repairs; and two employees immediately started working on the repairs. Mr. Keith stayed to supervise the work and invited me outside to show me exactly what the employees were repairing. He followed up the day after the first rainstorm to confirm everything was ok. I will definitely use Keith Roofing again.

We recently purchased an old house that needs a lot of work, and I wish everyone we dealt with were as informed and professional as Keith Roofing. He explains every aspect of the work that is needed and makes sure everything is explained clearly. He provided a detailed estimate of the work and took before and after polaroids of the work, then met me at my job to show them to me so I could give him the second half of the check. With all the work that was needed, he had a large team out there and everything was done in one day. While they were on the roof, they noticed additional work that was required and did it for free because it was not on the estimate. I can't say enough good things about Keith Roofing and would suggest them to anyone in the area.

Mr Keith was exceptionally friendly and professional on the phone, and he provided a detailed estimate of the work he could provide. We ultimately went with a different contractor because, as others have mentioned here, you pay for the outstanding service. We lucked out with a cheaper contractor that was still great, but we would definitely consider Keith Roofing for future projects.

I was very happy with them. They did a good job. They came that same day. They were very helpful at pointing out what needed and didn't need to be done. I thought they did good work.

My roof was leaking in two places. I had used Keith Roofing in the past to do some patching in the same areas as these two leaks 2 1/2 years earlier. So I called Keith Roofing and asked them to come out and assess the situation. Mr. Keith went up on the roof while I was at work (which was convenient for me) and called me from the roof to pinpoint the problem areas. It turned out there were visible holes/rips in two places near the previous work he'd done but the leaks were not coming from his work. He patched the areas and things seem dry now. As a courtsey, he did not charge me because he had done work in that area not long before. He was prompt, courteous and helpful thoughout the process. I would use him again.
