When we bought our row house the home inspector told us that we needed to have the roof refinished, so we were already aware of the issues. I called Mr. Keith and he answered directly. I was thrilled when he offered to go out and visit the house while we were at work (he used a ladder to access the roof so there was no need for us to be there). He left a very detailed estimate including numerous photos which coincided with exactly what the inspector had said. We agreed on a price. Mr. Keith then brought a crew two days later and completed the work in a day. He called us with a progress report and even repaired at not cost a bit of damage to the siding caused by birds. Once again, very detailed photos were provided that showed each stage of the process and the final result. We looked at it afterwards and were very pleased. Overall we found them to be quick, professional and high quality. The work is warranted in full for two years. Very pleased.

Overall, the experience was excellent and I will follow-up with the outcome of the spilled sealant along the front trim of the house. 2/23/2012 - PLEASE READ THIS to complete my evaluation. Immediately upon writing my review awhile back, Mr. Keith personally came out, called several times and ensured that the last details were completed! He left pictures and wrote an apology for the oversight. I have to admit, when the original work was contracted, it was one of the worst rainy seasons I've experienced and they were hopping with "emergency" business. Not making excuses, but when a company pays attention to these forums and acts immediately and professionally without attacking the customer, THEY HAVE MY VOTE! I would use this company again and I would recommend them to friends and family.

We contacted several roofing companies, and Keith Roofing had the best combination of professionalism, quality, and price. They explained things thoroughly over the phone, showed up on time, and provided photos of the damaged areas of the roof. While the cost was a bit higher than we'd been hoping for, it was worthwhile for the peace of mind and the quality of the work. I would definitely recommend Keith Roofing to anyone needing roof repairs or replacement.

I originally called Keith Roofing the week of Thanksgiving, but they weren't able to come out until the first week in December. I was very happy with my experience with the company. They arrived on time to look at my problem, took several pictures, gave me an estimate and were able to complete the repairs on the same day. They also left pictures when they were done so that I could see the work that was accomplished. I also received a quote from another company and while Keith Roofing was more expensive, I felt that they completed a more thorough assessment of why my leak was leaking and therefore would provide me with a more complete/long-term repair.

I called on a Thursday, the estimate was provided on the Friday and the work conducted on the Tuesday right before Thanksgiving. The estimate and repair were conducted without us having to be present and using detailed pictures. The repairs Keith Roofing had done 3 years ago were still fine. Extremely responsive, very professional, punctual, a real plasure to work with such professionals! The price is not cheap but it is worth it. We got an Angies' List discount.

They were professional, efficient, attentive to every detail. They came promptly to give us an estimate. They snapped photos of what was going on with our old gutter and explained in detail what the problem was. When we agreed to have them do the job, they came the very next day and finished it within a couple of hours. This was actually the second time we'd used them. The first was back in March of this year, to do some repairs to our roof. They did that with the same thoroughness and efficiency. They guarantee everything they do. At one point we had another small leak in a part of the roof that they hadn't worked on, and they came and patched it up free of charge. I can't recommend them enough

Very well. One of only a few contractors I know who actually returned my call. We fixed a date for a visit easily. They were prompt, helpful and very professional. They did a god job within one morning. On price, I really have no idea as I did not get quotes. Is $2400 a lot for 1/2 days work of 3 guys? Who knows, but I dont mind paying a bit extra (if I did) - for a professional job.

They did my roof on my porch. They didn't take off the old roof, but just installed the new one on top of it. It has rained pretty hard since then and there were no leaks. It seems to have been a good job.

Their service is great. You receive pictures of your roof at every juncture of the job and are always available for questions/service.

Though I only asked for an estimate, my experience with Keith was above and beyond what I received from other contractor estimates. While I was unsure I needed any work done, estimates from all other roofers was the stock "You need to replace the roof: 6,500 dollars." Keith took a look at the roof and gave me a thoughtful response that showed he had taken a good look at it. Based on his comments, it looks like the roof does not need serious repairs, at least in the near term. It was great to have a roofer give me an honest estimate that didn't equate to huge repairs. He gave me some things to look for, and if down the line I need to do repairs, I will be sure to have Keith on speed dial. I feel like I can truly trust these guys.

I have used Keith Roofing twice in the past, both times with excellent results. After the earthquake/hurricane/etc., however, I noticed two small leaks in the roof. They came out to my house, but I had gotten held up in a meeting, and was unable to meet them there. They went on the roof anyway, repaired some flashing, and did not charge me. Obviously, I could not be more happy with this visit. Even setting aside the money, I particularly liked being recognized as a repeat customer. I have recommended them to many people, and would do so again without hesitation.

Very responsive, quick, and professional. New roof held up nicely through the hurricane and other torrential rains. Only downside is that I overpaid: I'd gotten a lower estimate, but I went with Keith because of the reviews saying that their work was really top-notch; as it turned out, the quality of work was solid but not worth paying extra for -- I'm 99% sure I could've gotten the same level of work by going with the lower estimate.

After days of rain I noticed water dripping from my ceiling near a skylight. I called Keith Roofing and they came the next day, took pictures of the problem areas on my roof and pulled men off another job to take care of the problem that same day. I honestly do not know how their pricing compares to other companies, but I felt that the price was fair, particularlly given the outstanding service that I received. All problems they fixed were the result of previously poor work done by a contractor, who installed an air handler on my roof without properly installing flashing around the unit. I highly reccomend this firm.

I would hire Keith Roofing again in a nano-second. I pretty much describe the experience above. I have nothing but positive, positive, positive things to say. They don't make people like him any more.

Keith Roofing They were extraordinarily fast. We called them, and the next day they were free. They showed up at 8:00 am in the morning, and were done at 1:00 pm. They were great. They took amazing photos of the roof before, and after the work. Made a very clear presentation. We liked that it is a family business, 3 generations.

When I bought the house in 2009, the home inspector had told me the roof was in good shape but would need some minor maintenance within a few years. The next season, DC was hit with a series of heavy snowstorms, the last storm piled snow so high on my flat roof that snow piled up on the skylight louvers and melted into the skylight well, dripping into the bathroom. Although there was no serious damage, just a little mopping up, I wanted to find a solution that would still let me use the skylight but keep snow and debris from entering the louvers. I had estimates from several roofing companies. All identified issues with the flashing that the home inspector had pointed out and two identified issues with the drip edge, which the home inspector had pointed out as low spots on the roof which caused puddling on the roof. But only Keith Roofing identified the flashing and drip edge issues plus came up with a solution to the skylight which would result in maintaining its usefulness while solving the problem of debris getting inside to the skylight well. And just as importantly, Keith Roofing was able to do the work immediately and at a fair price. Plus, Keith Roofing identified two places where they had seen squirrels nesting around the house gutters. One nest was located in a scupper, high above the second story at the roof line and the other was located at the front of the house, just below a gutter. Keith Roofing was able to repair those two sites with wire mesh to keep the squirrels from nesting on the house and did not even charge for the extra labor and material to fix the squirrel issues!! Keith Roofing also provided me with "before" and "after" pictures of each of the repairs so I knew exactly what was repaired. Keith Roofing may have renewed my flagging faith in contractors in DC. Great quality, fast completion, fair and affordable pricing plus a true customer orientation. Keith Roofing went beyond repairing my roof by preventing future problems the squirrels may have caused had they continued nesting in the eaves unchecked.

After DC was hit with back to back snow storms, the flat roof on our 111 year old row house developed a leak. We immediately called Keith Roofing. They were able to send a crew out the next day. Their crew cleaned off over two feet of snow, inspected all of the seals and flashings on the roof, and repaired all of areas that were damaged, all within a day. When another leak developed months later - they came out and located the source of the leak and made the repair at no charge. We also used them to put a reflective roof coating on our flat roof last summer. More recently after a nearby tree was removed - they sent a crew over to inspect the gutters and clean the roof. They have always been extremely responsive and done fantastic work. Their crew is well known in Capitol Hill - and they have a well deserved reputation for excellent work.

Mr Keith and his team arrived EARLY. They started the work and Mr Keith explained all the work his team was accomplishing while I was still at home. He showed me his license and bond documents (WOW!) Before I left he identified some flashing repair that was not part of the original estimate and offered to take care of it at no cost (ANOTHER WOW!) There is no light streaming from gaps in the roof in the attic which I showed his foreman--and upon my return home, they were all closed up. I would definitely recommend he and is company again.As another customer commented, he is pricey, but its Washington, DC (!!) , and you certainly get what you pay for....

Third time using Keith Roofing. There was a bad rain storm and a leak appeared in my bedroom ceiling. Mr. Keith came out and discovered that the front edge of my roof had not been installed properly and the material was pulling back due to the recent wind and rain. Another major storm was due later that day, so Mr. Keith made time to come and fix the problem for me. As always, Keith Roofing is professional, courteous, extremely knowledgeable and accurate in their diagnosis. Their prices are probably higher than some others, but this is a perfect case of "you get what you pay for". It is worth every penny.

Mr. Keith arrived on time for his estimate and explained the services he would perform. He took photos of the areas of concern on the roof and explained clearly how he would repair them. He completed all of the work the next morning. He cleared the entire area and my roof and skylight look great. I strongly Keith Roofing and found Mr. Keith to be a very competent and honest person.

I would definitely use them in the future.

We were not sure what condition our roof was in; we have lived in this house for five years. We did have a home inspection as part of the purchase of the house and it indicated the roof was sound. We have had no leaks but a visual appraisal this spring seemed to indicate that we ought to make sure that everything was okay. I had two estimates on the roof work (third company didn't respond to my phone call). Both estimates included photos of work that they believed should be done. The owner, Hugh Keith, came by to pick up the contract on the same day when I called to say we wanted to go ahead with the work. He made a point of showing me papers that showed they were bonded, had the proper licenses and ID stuff (I was surprised and mildly impressed - no one has ever done that before). I paid half of the total payment with a check when I gave him the contract. Several workers came out at 3pm that afternoon (Friday, June 10) to install the flat roof system (it has to be done with a blowtorch or heat gun). The owner said they would be back on Monday to finish the rest of the work. Sure enough, 8:30am on Monday morning, workmen arrived and finished the job. They cleaned up after themselves. Photos were taken of the completed work and given to me. The TV dish that we don't use was removed and they took it away. (The TV dish had been installed by previous home owners, but the join to the roof had never been sealed.) The paid the other half of the payment when they finished. I asked Hugh Keith Jr. how long the existing shingle roof would last, and he said probably ten more years. He emphasized the importance of cleaning the gutters regularly as part of ensuring against leaks. The workmen appear to work in teams, and observe what I consider to be proper safety precautions with ladders and on the roof. I am pleased with Keith & Company's service and I would use them again.

I must begin this review with an apology. We have been clients of Keith Roofing company for the past several years and have always been very pleased with the impeccable service we have received on every occasion. I should have written this glowing review long ago so that other Angie's List member's know exactly who to call when they have a problem with their roof, gutters or skylights. But better late than never. We have required the services of Keith Roofing both at a rental property of ours on Capitol Hill as well as at our home in Falls Church. I can truly say, after our very first interaction with Keith Roofing, we would never consider calling anyone else if we had a roof related problem with our properties. We have always received stellar, professional service from start to finish . When we have called them, we have never had to leave a message, a real person always answers the phone. They have been able to come out to evaluate the problem quickly, usually that same day or very shortly thereafter. If the problem does not involve the inside areas of the house, Mr. Keith has been able to head over on his own, go up on the roof via a ladder and take pictures of the problem, so that I could see exactly what was going on. I didn't even have to take time off from work for the estimate. Because Mr. Keith has years of experience working with the flat roofs commonly found in DC, he was quite knowledgeable of the usual issues homeowner's experienced with these houses, as well as the appropriate course of action to complete the necessary repair quickly and efficiently. He has always promptly provided us with a detailed written estimate, giving both the description of the work to be performed as well as the estimated cost. I have read other reviews which have given Keith Roofing a lower score on "price" because they feel his fees are high. However, I am a firm believer that you "get what you pay for". Mr. Keith stands behind all of his work. On one occasion we did experience a leak in an area which he had previously repaired approximately 1 1/2 years prior. He came right over and repaired the area at no charge. Keith Roofing is very conscientious of our property and has always taken care to clean-up after themselves. If you are looking for a company that is professional, prompt, personable, conscientious, responsible and has a true expertise in their field, look no further. We really can't say enough wonderful things about this fantastic company and heartily recommend them. We plan to have them do some masonry work for us in the future. I guess our continued loyalty is what truly says it all.

They had someone in the area, so they sent him over - and I was glad to get the estimate so quickly. However, when I said they could come over immediately, I CLEARLY stated that there was someone sleeping in the house, and I was in the backyard, so they needed to call rather than ring the doorbell. No such luck. They rang the doorbell, and of course the sleeping person answered the door, completely confused. The man at the door (whose card had the last name Keith) barely apologized. He basically said "You shouldn't expect us to always get messages from the office." No kidding. A little bit of manners and a genuine "I'm so sorry I didn't get the message" goes a long way. Then, when we went to look at the roof, he basically asked why we didn't do it ourselves, and then quoted a price out of all proportion with the time it should have taken. Finally, as he was walking out, he passive aggressively said "YOU'RE WELCOME" before I had had a chance to say thank you for coming. Who knows how the work is, but the owner is a real jerk, or at least doesn't care about presenting a polite face to customers.

I called and spoke with the office staff about the condo building roof that needed repairs for leaks and skylights that weren't properly sealed. I gave all my information to the employee, who said that they were backed up due to the weather and that it may be up to three days before they could get out for an estimate. I understood this, and said okay. Two weeks later, having not heard from them, I called again to check on whether they were able to come out for an estimate, and they said that I was on their list, and that they would get to me shortly. It has been three weeks since then, and I still have not heard from them. I went with another company, Corley Roofing & Sheet Metal Co., Inc. who has completed the job in the time I have been waiting for an estimate from Keith Roofing. I am very satisfied with Corley Roofing's work, and completely unsatisfied with the way I was treated by Keith Roofing. If they don't have time, or just don't want my business, just say so. Don't string someone along. Its just plain rude.
