ENERGY EFFICIENCY EXPERTS

Pasacle was able to schedule the audit within a few days of my call - she arrived exactly on time, set up her laptop, worked with me to calculate home dimensions and age of HVAC, appliances, etc., and then set up the blower and went to work, assessing all areas of the home - including vents, attic insultation, every window, every door, bathroom vent fans, skylights, chimney/fireplaces, etc. etc. She found an amazingly long list of detailed small problems (e.g., gap between bathroom vent fan and attic, specific window leaks, on an on!) which I can fix myself. She took pictures of EVERYTHING and her report was 10 pages long, extremely thorough, with pictures, instructions, and product recommendations (e.g. a kilowatt monitor). She shared tips for repairs - e.g. "use painters tape when using foam to plug holes" and encouraged me to take the plunge into CFL lighting (the kelvin range for incandescent-like light is about 22000, in case you were wondering) and recommended setting for the programmable thermostat. She inspected the attic in great detail and gave me a solution and the approximate cost an insulation contractor should charge. All of these topics, and quite a few more, were discussed in detail and pointed out visually. It was a very enlightening experience - I never would have thought to examine all sources of energy leaks/waste in such detail. A very educational experience - now I'm getting busy with the insulation, leak plugging, and door and window sealilng.

Everything went very smoothly. I followed around to try to understand, as Pascale explained patiently, how to make some of the fixes. My husband and I are a little overwhelmed, but will try to try this step-by-step to start saving money and make our house more comfortable this winter. While I know it would be cost prohibitive, and my husband and I can do the work, I wish I could now have Pascale come back and do the work!!

Pascale was very through in her energy audit. She took a lot of time and explained everything she was doing. We have a 3500 square foot home so the pricing was excellent. I highly recommend her for an audit,.

Pascale took over two hours to perform a complete, thorough energy audit of our 1927 house. In addition to the tools she used (such as the door blower test), Pascale checked everywhere from basement to attic, inside and out. Nothing missed her eagle eyes. Her recommendations included photographs of the problem areas in the house, and they will be very useful to correlate with her extensive recommendations. The recommendations for the most part were not expensive ones (i.e., she suggested more insulation on doors and windows rather than replacing windows). We have a good "to do" list to prepare the house for the winter.

Pascale Maslin was running just a few minutes late due to unexpected traffic, but called ahead to let me know (kudos for that). She set up her equipment and kept me informed every step of the way as she checked for drafts in the house. As she moved around the house (from basement to attic), she pointed out air gaps and instructed me in how to correct them simply and cheaply. She inspected the appliances and made recommendations to keep them operating efficiently. In 20 minutes of discussing the attic with Pascale, I learned more than I had ever known about insulation, soffit vents, baffles, and some of the factors that have likely contributed to a problem we have had with ice dams. She spent a good amount of time trouble-shooting a particular problem area in our home (one bedroom that never seems to be adequately cooled or heated), discovered the likely problem, and provided a suggested cost-effective solution. Near the end of the 3.5 hour visit, she reviewed the results of the audit with me and answered my (numerous) questions. She then emailed a detailed report, together with recommendations for repairs and improvements, within a day or two. All in all, it was an excellent investment of time and money. Not only would I recommend Pascale to a friend, but I took a few of her cards to hand out to neighbors.

I had been considering replacing the 24 windows in my house when I realized that it would cost as much as a new car. I decided to get an energy audit to see if the windows were really my problem. I chose Energy Efficiency Experts because they were so well-rated in Angie's List. The audit itself was a fascinating experience, and taught me a lot about my home. The charming and knowledgeable Pascale checked my previous energy expenses to show me how high above othe average my heating expenses were, but that the cooling bills were about average. She set up the blower and went all over my house, over and under, checking for air leaks. She found some in really odd places, such as under my bathroom vanity. Within a few days, I got her report, which was very thorough (with pictures) and gave me direction for improving my winter heating bills, such as sealing gaps, weatherstripping windows, and adding more insulation in the attic. And all for less than the price of one window!

Pascale was great. She spent about 3 hours and went through the house top to bottom in great detail. She answered all our questions and provided a comprehensive report with a lengthy list of prioritized actions to remedy inefficiences. I'd have no hesitation recommending Energy Efficiency Experts to others.

She was very giving, worked hard and wanted to do everything right. She was very helpful with advice. She showed that my insulation needed to be redone and gave other tips. I appreciated her taking her time with me as needed and I found her to be trustworthy. I would use her again.

Overall it went very well. She was very thorough and went into parts of our house that even we have not been in. We thought that the attic above the bedroom was sealed off, but she got us to push the hatch a little harder and we found a fan that was always on (not thermostatically controlled,) which was an energy waster. She also climbed under our sunroom and gave us some suggestions to seal that off better as well. Most of the suggestions are pretty common sense, but knowing where to look for them and what to do comes with experience. We had a different "auditor" come out and he was nowhere as helpful as Pascal was. She sent us a report a day later and it had everything in it she walked around and showed us, which is handy as we can check things off as we go.

Pascal was friendly and gave me a lot of good energy saving advice.

Pascale arrived on time and explained the entire process to me. After setting up her equipment, she walked me through my entire house pointing out problem areas and explaining their significance to my homes efficiency. She identified both major and minor areas of concern and explained how I could go about fixing them. Upon completion of the inspection she walked through everything again and a couple of days later she provided a written report detailing everything she had found with pictures and suggestions on how to fix the problems. I was extremely impressed with the level of detail in the inspection and the resulting report. I wouldn?t hesitate in recommending this company to anyone who needs and energy audit.

Arrived on time. Very professional and thorough. Explained problems during and after audit. Provided a comprehensive written report with recommendations for problem areas. Surfaced significant problems of which we were not aware. Well worth the cost.

She was very quick and efficient, and cut no corners. I liked the way she worked and would recommend her services to anyone. She was scrupulous to assure me that she received no fees from contractors whom I might employ.

She was methodical and thorough with her survey. After spending about 3 hours looking around, she then took me around the house to point out the leaks. Since the blower at the front door was sucking air from the house, I could feel the cold air wherever it was seeping in. She patiently explained what was causing the different leaks or, in the case of the furnace or appliances, the excess power usage. Then, she offered detailed, practical correctives for each problem. Today, six days later, she emailed me a detailed follow-up report complete with pictures outlining her findings and, again, providing remedies as well as reliable contractors or suppliers of green home equipment. This is a service that EVERYONE should get, provided by a vendor I'd recommend without reservation.

Perfect experience! Prompt, professional, patient and informative. We implemented Pascale's suggestions and found our home to be more comfortable immediately. It is too soon to determine how much we are saving on our utility bills. Her recommendations for an insulation company and handyman were very helpful.

Everything went fine. She was on time and spent 3 hours auditing my home. I received a written report within one week of the audit.

I thought the woman was really great. She actually came back a second time because they had a staffing change and she made it a point to follow up and redo the whole thing so that she could be sure she had all of the information. They were very professional.

Overall the audit was fair - I would not recommend this service for most as what you get for the amount paid is somewhat questionable. We were told the audit would last for about 4 hours - it lasted for less than two and the auditor seems to rush out at the end as well. Very little was explained to us at the end of the audit - in fact, for most things we had to inquire. A report was then sent to us a few days later. For the money invested, and since for some reason the audit occured in 1/2 the time as estimated, it would have been nice to have a sit down conversation with the auditor and go over most of the things that were found. We basically spent over $300 and were advised to change light bulbs and insulate the attic - basic items that were already known. Yes there were a few other minor items that were of interest, but in relativity to the cost and time of the service, I'm not sure the cost value was there. My opinion may have been changed if some moretime was spent with the owners of the home being audited since a majority of the $300+ cost is labor, for which we only got 50%.

Pascal was wonderful and responsive: she arrived punctually on the agreed date & time; explained to us in detail what she was going tto do and why; took incredible care in the conduct of the audit, explaining to us at each step what was happening; she even pointed out to us things we did not know (e.g. the importance of cleaning out the refrigerator coils to improve its efficiency and lower its energy use) and even fixed soem of these for us. Pascal went over the initial audit findings immediately after completion and we got her report within a few days. It was a great learning experience! We have already started using her advice and recommendations. Would definitely use her again! Suggestion if you are considering engaging Pascal: do allow for 3-4 hours for the audit, and ensure that Pascal gets access to all p[arts of the house including attics, baths, cupboards and closets.

Pascale arrived right on time, and with all of the equipment she needed to tell us where our house was leaking. She checked our major appliances for age and efficiency, and was full of information the entire time she was at our house. Her report was delivered to us in 3 days (over a weekend!), and it contained extremely useful information on how to improve our house's energy efficiency.

Overall it was high quality. There was a little bit of a turnaround time for the written report. I like that it was a one person stop for the work. She seemed to be very personable and took more time than might have been required to look at everything. The only downfall was that she was not very knowledgeable about construction materials and larger changes but she was very knowledgeable about weatherization. Her price was quite reasonable.

Highly recommended. Excellent job in finding leaks large and small, and explaining what needed to be done to correct them. Audit will more than pay for itself very quickly.

Great job! Pascale arrived on the button and was professional and thorough. The audit took over two hours and at the end she reviewed all her findings, which will be fully written up and sent in a week. She pointed out some simple things we can do, and some not-so-simple things that we'll have another contractor take care of, but in all she believes we can save about 30% or more on our energy usage. Based on her ballpark estimate of the cost, that should pay itself back in just a couple of years of energy savings, not to mention the smaller carbon footprint. Pascale is a very energetic and knowledgeable person who is deeply committed to people saving energy and reducing greenhouse gases. Highly recommended!
