The job included replacing 15 old windows with new double pane energy star ones. It was more complicated because there were a couple of special features I wanted in my windows. I had interviewed at least 5 other companies and none of them could give me either separately or together the features I was looking for. When it came to Highland, Marc intervened for me, negotiated a special order and did what none of the others could, provided the product I was looking for. He also was sensitive to my worry when we discovered there was lead in the paint around the old windows. His installers took all the precautions, laying plastic and cleaning up afterward. He did not try to talk me out of my fears. And, finally, he provides his own company warrantee which fills in gaps and covers what the standard manufacturer's warrantee doesn't. I have not had a chance to test it out, but I believe other reviewers have found it reliable. Marc puts great energy into listening to and working with his clients, and does not forget them after the job is done. Highland is a good company; I'm glad I did not overlook them. The windows look really nice, and the house feels warmer.

The windows are really high quality. The installation was fast and the price was great.

We were looking to replace the windows in our condo. We called around to a couple local places for estimates. Marc from Highland Windows was able to come out and provided us with all the product information we could need and even showed us a sample window to demonstrate the window's features. He really took the time to answer all our questions and explained everything, including the special order process. He was able to give us an estimate right then and there. We were very impressed with his presentation and the windows. Because we had to comply with our condo managements window requirements we knew our order would take a little longer. Marc stayed in constant contact with updates on our order. When the windows arrived and were ready to be delivered, the installers were quick, polite and they did an excellent job! We are beyond thrilled with our experience with Highland! We would highly recommend them to anyone.

The install took 2 days. They were very good about making sure the contract was accurate since I wanted to change 2 things on it after the measurement. Highland Windows works with Murk's Home Improvement for the install. They were very open to feedback during the install which was very good. They were very thorough and showed me any issues that popped up and how they were going to resolve them. The only big issue was one of the screens was missing which was ordered before they even finished and came in about 2 weeks later. They cleaned up well and went through a final walk through with me to make sure everything was satisfactory. So far no issues with the windows and they look great. The have a double lifetime warranty if any issues do come up but the double lifetime seems about standard for most window companies in this range. I would recommend them for window installations. They also had the best price for their windows.

Highland Windows just finished installing 15 Harvey Industries vinyl windows in our West Hartford home. Marc Cowan and his installation team were wonderful...from start to finish. For us the decision to purchase replacement windows had two parts: choosing a manufacturer and choosing an installer. We wanted to maximize quality and minimize risk on both parts. We judged quality of manufacturer by the material, by the history and size of the manufacturer's company, and by reviews of the product on the web. We judged quality of installer by the size of the company, the length of time in business, whether their own employees installed the windows, and their investment in a nice showroom. We really liked the owner/salesperson Marc Cowan. He was highly professional and responsive, with no high-pressure sales tactics. But we were concerned that his business is small; if he retired, what would happen to any service issues we might have? We were also concerned that his product, Alside, got terrible reviews on the web. When we discovered that for about the same price we could get highly-reviewed fiberglass windows from a well-respected large installer, that's the way we went.

The owner and the entire company did exactly what they said they would do. The workers who replaced our windows were thorough, hard working and did an excellent job. They cleaned up all the work. I would highly recommend Highland!

Marc was professional and responsive from the get go. He didn't waste our time when he came out for the estimate, he showed us the product (Harvey Slimline with Low-E coating and Argon gas), went over the features, the quality, and the warranty (double lifetime and transferable) and then counted the windows and went over what we were looking for (grids, type of window, etc.). In and out in half an hour. Others we received quotes from droned on about how great their product was and measured all the windows (even though they said they would come out to get a more accurate measurements if hired) taking up about an hour or more. Marc came out again to measure the windows once we we hired him. It took about 3 weeks to make and deliver the windows and he was available to install within the week. While he does subcontract for the actual window installation. He obviously works very closely with the subcontractor and demands a high level of professionalism from them as well. They had some issues with the trailer on their way to our house but contacted Marc immediately to let us know they would be late. The installers slightly cracked a window frame when they were installing a window (something I would have never noticed until be became an issue), they contacted Marc immediately and showed me the crack. Marc ordered a new window and will have it installed as soon as it is ready. The job turned into a two day job, despite that we were told it was a one day job- that was really the only negative. But I've always known projects to take longer than said so I wasn't surprised. Top notch company.

This is the third occasion we have used Highland. The first job was just one window with a broken sill that was blowing cold, winter air into my son's bedroom. The second time was last Spring when we replaced windows in half the house. This most recent job we finished up the windows in the rest of the house. Each time, Highland has been professional and courteous. The sales staff are kind and not pushy at all. The installers are friendly, efficient and clean. We couldn't be happier with our new windows as they've made the whole house feel new. I have nothing but good things to say about this company. We hope to be able to use them again in the Spring for a sliding glass door.

It took me a long time to choose a company to replace windows in my historic home. I desperately needed energy efficient new windows that still suited the look and aesthetics of my house. The owner of Highland Windows Mark listened patiently to my concerns and spent a long time considering my needs and offering me the best options. He went above and beyond to arrange for me to visit a similar home to actually see the windows he suggested in place. Currently I have had two floors of my home done and am thrilled. The team that came on a very cold and snowy day were just wonderful. Polite, very respectful of my home and a pleasure to deal with. It has been a vey long time since I have been so impressed by a work crew. At the end of a very long and bitterly cold day they still spent time thoroughly cleaning and sweeping both inside and out! I am very happy with the new windows. Over night my rattling old house became warmer, more sound proof and they look so much better. We plan to use Highland again this spring to finish some ground floor windows and add a patio door to our home. They come highly recommended.

Excellent work. Came on time, didn't mind the small job, installed superb new sliding windows that are very warm and work very well. It also looks like they'll be quite easy to clean. The workmen were very professional and nice to work with, and cleaned everything up, inside and out. We will use them for a big job we are planning in the Spring, for the rest of our windows and for siding.

Called Highland for an estimate for window installation. Explained carefully that we live in a 2 yr old home where a window had cracked. Builder provided a replacement window under warranty. We needed installation. Spoke with Mark, owner of company and was told he would be happy to come out and provide an estimate for installation. He referred us to Monica to set up an appointment. Initial appointment was scheduled and then rescheduled by Highland for 1-2 weeks later. Was asked by Monica when she rescheduled if we had the replacement window. She reassured us that once Mark came out, the job would be scheduled and completed quickly. At 7 PM the evening before second appointment Monica called to say they would not be out for appointment to quote installation. They never install windows they have not ordered and sold to the client. Other reviews were excellent and was reason we called Highland. I suspect they forgot we called them through Angie's List and found it inconvenient at the last minute to come out and quote a small job. We would have been very understanding if they explained that up front and referred us to someone else. They were inconsiderate, unprofessional and delayed our replacement of window.

I've recommended them to others as well. I've even had them replace screens with scratches over the years and two window parts that broke the seal due to my house settling over the years. Never a question, issue and always with a smile. The best window replacement company I know of.

I like Mark, who owns the place. They are prompt, thorough, and do good work. They are professional and pleasant to work with.

Highland Window Company performed extensive window maintenance (repair and replacement of rotted trim and window sills) and installed four replacement windows (three double hung and one casement). The team of workers did an outstanding job and was very thorough in their efforts and competent in all work performed. My experience with Highland was extremely positive from start to finish and I would most certainly hire them in the future and recommend their services to homeowners looking to install replacement windows.

We were very happy with our sales representative, Marc. First of all, he showed up on time for our appointment. This might not be a big deal to some people, but it is to me! His presentation was very thorough and professional. We ended up booking them on the same day as our appointment after we got a couple of other quotes, and he actually came back the same night with one of the installers and did our window measurements so that they could order our windows right away. The company was very accomodating to our schedule - we had to delay for a week because we had recently had our floor refinished and needed some time to let them dry. All the windows were installed within 6 hours. We are very happy with the work they did - there was some minor damage to the trim around our windows, but I wouldn't consider it out of the ordinary or excessive. Every person that we interacted with from the office manager to the sales rep to the installers were all professional and courteous. I considered the price to be reasonable from other quotes that we received, but it was not the cheapest. I feel that we got the best deal for the service provided.

Highland performed the replacement of the windows and from the estimate through the completion of the job the process was seamless. Even after an inspection from my very critical father, he was impressed with the quality of the job and the cleanliness of the house. This is the 2nd time our family has used Highland, first being a family owned rental property and this time my sisters home. The process was the same each time.

He was very professional and very nice. I would have like to hire him but I just couldn't afford the price. He's probably get a high quality product too. He was prompt.

They finished their work in one day (hot day). The installers were friendly and hardworking . It probably was not easy to work so high up. We like the quality of the windows.

We can't say enough wonderful things about Highland Window Company. We had 13 replacement windows installed in one day. These guys are hard workers, friendly, and very clean. Our house looks great. They stayed until the job was done (which was about 7 PM on a Friday night). Their dedication is like no other. Would recommend them to anyone looking for excellent customer service...and for a job well done!

My experience with them was very good. They're very thorough and detailed. The warranty on their windows is very secure.

Overall, it was a very good experience. They were punctual and they did a good job cleaning up. They did a good job troubleshooting in the house when some of the window frames had some problems and take care of that. They took the time not only to put the window in but to do the finish work as well where they put metal around the window to cover up the original outdoor window sill. They did it pretty much on time and we were dealing with pretty bad rains.

The salesperson, Rich Brown, was very knowledgeable and showed up when scheduled. The installation crew was very polite. They did their work in a professional manner. When the job was completed and I was given the document to sign stating I was satisfied with the job, I didn't want to sign until we checked every window, and I think they probably would have left if I had just signed. As we checked the windows room by room, we found that they had not replaced the curtain rod bracket and the mini-blind brackets in two rooms. They then proceeded to do that, and I signed the document. Overall I was very pleased with the company and would recommend them to anyone.

Things went quite well. We got three estimates. One was way high and we eliminated them. The other two were very close in estimates, but we went with the one who appeared to have a better (very good) guarantee. The salesman was quite knowledgeable and was very pleasant to deal with. The office followed up on all aspects of the sale. The installers seemed very competent and appeared to do a very good job however they were there for 11 hours and we were told it would take about 4/5. But, they did a great job and worked very hard all the time. We would definitely have them back.
