Awful! This company promises you the world with very little results. My mom had a small fire. The smoke damaged the entire house. All her belongings had to be packed up, cleaned and stored. So my mom signed a repair contract in June 2020 with the completion date of Christmas 2020. No work had even started by November! He took over $100,000 deposit and refuses to return it. He improperly charges O&P and all his attorney says, "Your client signed a contract and you have to pay for anything he bills that the insurance doesn't.". We were billed for software with no explanation. They bill O&P on even storage! DCP is directing us how to proceed as they have all the paperwork and a local news station is interested in the story. My mom turns 87 next month. They have taken every kind of advantage! And to boot, her belongings were water damaged. We didn't get so many things back! Collectibles, stein's. Many collectibles were broken due to their poor packing. Someone put her paperweight collection on top of her hummels??? Who does that? We were promised her belongings would all be professionally cleaned! What a laugh! My mom and I have been washing every single thing for 3 weeks. Alot of her furniture was so water damaged we had the mover discard it. The remaining furniture is full of mildew. And now this company is denying everything!!!! We have pictures. They are trying to say the mover damaged it? I have used dozens of contractors in my day and I can honestly say I have never met a more incompetent company. And the owner, Dan Strong, could care less how he treats people. He has been holding onto her money for 20 months!!! Who does this?

I called DRS and Marty answered. He arrived with a crew within 2 hours. They sucked up all the water and had an electrician install a temporary electric service (EVERYTHING was wet!) within 6 hours (working late!). They connected temporary electric heat, dehumidifiers, and blowers to dry everything. Over the next several days, they removed all damaged drywall, flooring, etc. The workers were careful, competent, and considerate of our trauma. The total $$$$ was expensive, but that's typical of emergency work. Fortunately, mostly covered by insurance.
Description of Work: We had a disaster! A pipe froze and burst, but we weren't home and it was 2.5 days before a neighbor noticed and called us. The water damage was awful.

Description of Work: well DRS gutted our whole house, floors, walls, ceiling it was a shell. Then I sent them the 41,915.84. They stopped working on the house. I was like, why did you stop...he said " they wanted $32,695.09 more for the mitigation services. I said that should be the mitigation + 9th+ ?. to start putting the house back together. He said no we need 70th+ to start....I was like " you pay for things finished first that's common sense. Ugh I could go on..charged us over 4,000 for permits, we went to the town hall and asked for the permits they received, it was for $87.08, Really! my neighbors that used them all had problems with them..Its like a scam, everyone affected by Storm Sandy deserved honest construction companies. The grief makes ya crazy, its really alot when it happened to you and you would think that DRS would understand that.At first they were so nice and knowing just what you need, you think they care, but realize later THEY DONT CARE! There's more but I cant write forever....The Police Department in Old Saybrook is looking into them, along with Attorney Generals office, Consumer protection, and Better Business. I don't like being cheated esp. when it comes to my Dad. Oh, All State said they did not have to remove everything! They did not have to remove the ceiling and some of the walls. And mitigation should have been about 15th+. Just Beware.! PS We have hired our own people now (with help) and its great, the house is finally coming together....And better materials, and 1/ 2 the price. DRS wanted more then the house was worth.....peace

The management at DRS regrets that we were not able to meet your expectations. DRS is consistent in our billing practices with all customers to provide fair prices. We use industry standard software which is required by insurance carriers to create estimates. This software updates its price lists on a monthly basis and adjusts according to economical standards in the industry. In regards to your concern over the cost of permits, the line item states “fees and permits” and encompassed asbestos testing, analysis, and abatement in addition to the cost of any building permits required. These fees are stated in the estimate. We apologize if this line item appears unclear, and moving forward we will work to alleviate this misinterpretation. We are professionals in the industry, certified in water, fire, and mold remediation. We only remove damaged portions of your home that are a necessity. Although some structures may appear to be in working condition, there are often times hidden dangers such as mold or asbestos which would require that certain structures such as walls and flooring be removed to save the customer from additional problems in the future. Working in the insurance repair industry each job is different and so is each insurance policy. DRS reviews with the homeowner the scope of the job before it is completed and also brings to the attention of the customer if any repairs are not covered by the homeowners insurance policy. DRS then requires a signed authorization before performing any work at a customers home. DRS prides itself on customer service and keeps the homeowner informed at each stage of the mitigation and repair process. Our management team is always open to questions, comments, or concerns. We are truly surprised by your allegations and wish we were given the opportunity to rectify this situation. We appreciate your feedback and we are always striving to improve our services. Please contact us if we can be of further assistance.

Description of Work: In late July, 2012 I returned home from vacation to find my home infested with fleas! After joining AL I contacted several exterminators and settled on a company who was willing to come the following day, Sunday, to spray in order to kill the fleas. In that I've recently undergone a lumbar fusion surgery, I was unable to perform the laborus work recommended by the exterminator (ie: removing clothing, vaccuming the entire home, general cleaning, etc). In cooperation with PestRx exterminators, I contracted DRS to come and clean my home thoroughly after the extermination, beginning on Monday, one day after the extermination. The folks at DRS provided a reasonable quote and guaranteed work to begin on Monday. They agreed to perform work on all 3 floors of my home including the basement. The work included deep vaccuming of all the carpets, steam cleaning of the hardwood, cleaning and vaccuming of all woodwork within the home, cleaning and removing any food items that may have been contaminated, deep 360 degree vaccuming of all mattresses, sofas and chairs, appropriate storage of boxes in the basement inclusive of an entire vaccume of basement and washing of the basement floor. The work was extensive to say the least! I met with Brian on Monday afternoon and performed a walk thru of my home. He was professional and very pleasant and explained exactly what his workers would accomplish. There were a few items that needed to be professionally attended to (shower curtains, throw carpets, etc) and Brian said he would take these items to their home base to be professionally cleaned and returned, free of charge. Brian introduced me to his workers and assured me the work would be completed within 2 business days. Everything Brian promised was absolutely accurate. The work was done on time and I walked into a wonderfully clean and flea-free home 2 days later without having to lift or clean anything on my home!! Horray DRS! You guys were fantastic and worth every singe penny! I am so appreciative of all of your efforts and should I need you again (hopefully not!) I will be reaching out to you again!!
