Description of Work: Frank Baker was referred to me by a general contractor with whom I had established a relationship. We had gutted a bathroom in our house and we hired FBI Plumbing to move pipes to accomodate a reconfigured shower facility. Frank did all the work needed prior to closing up the walls and tiling the shower and floor. He never gave me an estimate in advance and then sent me an invoice for $3500 which shocked me and the builder. As a courtesy to the builder, I did not contest the amount beyond some minor clarification and then I made the mistake of paying for the job in full. Although not terribly relivant, it took a few months to close up the walls and get the tiling done. The tile guy made some adjustments to the depth of the wall and called Frank to see if he wanted to reset the depth of the shower fixtures prior to closing up the wall. Frank told the tiler that this wouldn't be a problem and to proceed with the tile job. When the tiler was done it took numerous calls to get Frank back out to the job. He fused about the time between visits (which was irrelevant, as the time spent on the job was the same regardless of the time lapsed) and then finally came out. The shower fixture depths (there were two installed) were WAY off, such that the final look was very awkward. He tried to convince me that they were installed correctly until I provided him with a Moen photograph. Then he said that this was as good as it was going to get (these were very expensive fixtures). He left the job without all contracted fixtures installed. He also brought the wrong size trap for the sink and then told me that I had to go buy a new one and install it myself. So, he did not complete the job completely nor satisfactorily. Once I finally got everything done on my own, the shower did not drain properly (he had done considerable work to the drain pipes to configure the shower floor depth as the old floor was sunken in style). I hired a drain cleaning company for $285 (by the way, Roto-Rooter wanted $385) and after a half an hour with a snake only going as far as the drain trap, we removed the standing water and discovered the problem. The drain installer (Frank) had dropped a gob of cement into the drain and allowed it to harden, thus blocking most of the pipe diameter. The drain guy wanted his $285 even though he could not solve the problem and now I will have to jackhammer the new floor out to install new drain. This will be a considerable expense.
