Rigid Mason Contractors

Working with Bob and Tommy Giuliano was a pleasure. They are true craftsmen and the treat each home as if it was their own (they told me that at the start -- and now I believe it). At first we agreed to repoint the main fireplace chimney but after Tommy inspected the chimney more closely, it was apparent that it was safest to take it down. Rigid worked with me to design a new chimney that would look authentic to the house but be designed to better handle the tough CT snow and rain with an extended cap around the brick body of the chimney. The quality of the work is fantastic. They matched the bond of the brick of my house to that of the chimney and also matched the joints (I was not an expert but apparently i have a Flemish Bond and a rake joint). The brick we chose looks almost exact to the house brick (which has a bit of luck there as they dont have original brick lying around) but Bob and Tommy scoured the brickyard to find the bricks that would look best. Its also obvious that they took care to install the brick so it mimiced the color and installation of the main house brick. I could not be more pleased with the work and give them my highest recommendation. I knew they were not the cheapest option -- but I think if you want the cheapest option your masonry won't look as good as the work Rigid does. Ive looked at other chimenies on my block and most look like the mortar was simply slapped on and has a very sloppy look. Mine is simply the work of a careful, serious craftsman and I got what I paid for - and more... but that didnt stop me from negotiating with Bob on the price of course. Call them and they will give my name as a reference and anyone is invited to take a closer look at the workmanship.
