Small Appliance Repair
$50
We purchased a 2011 model used dishwasher on 4/17 from this person for $300 plus $50 installation fee after our more than 15 year old dishwasher didn't work one day. While he was here installing the dishwasher he said he had rebuilt it and replaced the pumps.
The first time we used the dishwasher (4/20, Easter Sunday) we noticed that the pipes banged a lot whenever the pump came on and off. The pump also cycled frequently, and the dishwasher was not draining properly. We contacted David the following day (4/21) and he felt it was the computer. After that, we learned that one of the hoses came loose and water leaked down through the walls into the basement, soaking some laundry that was waiting to be washed. The hose was reconnected but we still had problems with the banging and the dishwasher not draining properly.
After not hearing from him for about a week, we texted him again on 5/1 and he said the computer was on back order. We asked when it would get here and his last response to us was "I'll find out." That was two weeks ago and the last time we heard from him.
We have attempted to contact him many times, by phone, by text, and by email, and he has not responded. Yesterday we ordered a new dishwasher from Home Depot, and David has been notified that if he wants the dishwasher he sold us he will need to let us know before Saturday, otherwise they will take it and we will be out the $350 that we paid to David.
This review is being submitted publicly as a last ditch effort to get this matter resolved due to David's lack of response. If David contacts us before Saturday to refund the money for the dishwasher and remove it, we will revise this public review.
