Grissam contracting was supposed to start early on Monday Octo 15th. They never showed so I called the salesman Greg and he did not know where they were either. Greg called back to let me know they would be here soon finally around noon I called back to find out they would not start till Tuesday Octo 16th between 7:00 and 7:30, They got there about 8:15 and started stripping the old roof tiles. They put tarps in front by the front door and the garage, they also put a large tarp in the back yard by the back door. They did not lay tarps on the north side of the house (Dog Run) where they dropped several wheel burls of roof tile loaded with nails, right on the ground (no tarps). After seeing this we left for a while and returned around 10:am only to find ceiling spackle all over our couch and floor, as my wife and I looked up we saw cracks in the skylights. I brought the foreman inside to show him the skylights and mess, he did not say a word to me went outside and called someone on the phone. I called the salesman and left him a message to call me back right away, in the meantime I had to go look for new skylights (keep in mind two hours out of my day, to do there job) I went to Home Depot which did not have the size we needed and tried Lowes which had some in our size. I returned with the new sky lights for the roofers to install. The salesman (Greg) called me back and said the workers did not break the skylights they were like that already and he wanted pictures from the insurance inspector to see if they were cracked before. My wife is always looking up at the skylights making sure they stay clean. She told me the skylights were not cracked or broken before they started, she should know. So Greg (salesman) wanted proof the cracks were not there prior to starting the job. (Greg questioning my ifs integrity and mine ) was really starting to upset me. I called the roof inspector and asked him to email me the pictures, if he had taken any pictures of the skylights. He e-mailed me back and said unfortunately he did not get pictures of the skylights but did say he did not see any damage to either skylight at that time. The roofers slapped on the new skylights without using a sealer or any kind of caulking before screwing them down. (They did not finish the job that day either. They picked up the large debris and the tarps around the house before they left for the day but since they did not put down a tarp in the dog run my wife went out with a flash light that night and picked up the nails in the dog run before the dogs could use it. She picked up 5 handfuls of nails from that one area and there are probably more but she could not see them all. (I hope we don't find one in a paw). Another day, Once again on the 17th I called Greg the salesman to find out why the crew had not showed up to finish the job when they said they would and he said they were not coming today because it was to windy and it could blow a worker off the roof (What?). It was not that windy and we saw several workers from other roofing companies working in our area. The salesman said they could not come till tomorrow to finish the job and at that point I was done, I had it with him and Grissom contracting, He had asked me what was wrong and before I could explain myself he was interrupting me/my answer. He was rude and arguing with me, and I got so upset, I told him to shut up and I hung up on him and called the company directly to talk to the owner or a manager. I told the manager I did not want to deal with that salesman or have him call or come over. I explained to him, that is not the way you talk to or treat your customers and I will not be referring Grissom contracting to anyone, I have let the person that referred me to your company,(via. referral group) know about this and he will not use you as a referral again. Almost finished, overall almost everything is looking good, but the poor quality of the service is what has bean the deciding factor for me, not so much the the wokmanship, One more day of this, We Hope!

Response from Grissom Contracting
We understand {removed member name} frustrations on certain points. However, our company went above and beyond, including installing brand new skylights at his residence at our cost, to ensure that {removed member name} property was restored to pre-storm conditions. We feel that an F rating is extremely unfair, as we completed all work as he directed. We have a A+ rating with the BBB with zero complaints over the last 15 years. Our workmanship and customer service speak for themselves.
