We rented two properties from Heritage. The first townhome was in ok condition when we first moved in, however the swamp cooler was supposable ready for use. the first attempt at using the swamp cooler we found water running through the ceiling of the upstairs bathroom and hall closet. It took two very long, hot summer months to get all the repair done. Mainly due to the fact that every time I would call to remind them that we had four industrial drying fans running upstairs, they had to look up who we were and what our problem was. That winter, the furnace went out. Two days without heat later, the plumber came only to tell us that that furnace heats the entire four house building and we had been paying for everyone's heat. When we told this to Heritage, they said that was between us and the energy company. About a year later, we needed something with more space and saw something listed through Heritage. The price was right for what type of property it was and they said they would be willing to rollover our deposit and take already paid extra rent from the last property to create our new, higher deposit. Upon moving in the deck off the front of the house broke. After three phone calls to them and two weeks had gone by, we were finally told just to repair it ourselves and get credited for the supplies. We were credited for the supplies but no labor even though I restained the entire deck while seven months pregnant. A few months pasted then we found several black widows in the house and garage. We called and were told that bugs are our responsibility to take care of. So, we sprayed and continued to have problems. We were still told that they did not handle any problems with bugs until it became threatening, so apparently two young children and black widows are not threatening. Another few months pass and we are informed of an inspection and told to leave a note with any concerns. We left a note with several notices of these going wrong with the house including a light switch that barely worked. Three months later the light was not working making one bathroom completely usable. It wasn't until a week after we moved out that someone called to fix the light. As we were preparing to move, I gave our thirty days notice. When I went in to pay the prorated rent I made a comment about our deposit which they replied that they have no record of part of deposit. I told her that the money couldn't have just disappeared, and she reply that she was sorry for the disappointment. After almost sixty days of waiting, we now have our deposit minus the "lost" part and a cleaning charge which the invoice from the cleaning company remarks unnecessary. DON'T TRUST YOUR HOUSE WITH THESE PEOPLE!
Description of Work: They were the property management company from which we rented for just over two years. The collected rent and handled any problems with the property.
