ixing the problem, just letting it go and offering to come back in the fall. As for the whole house humidifier, Pedroza has made no offer or made any plan to repair or replace.
Description of Work: Pedroza Heating & Cooling installed a Comfort-Aire heat pump and Honeywell True STEAM whole house humidifier March 31, 2009. The following season, I had to call them back to get the humidier working. They were unable to. I ended up calling another company and they got it working. Starting in February 2012, the heat pump began failing--not producing heat. Pedroza came back checked out the unit and noticed it was low on freon and decided there must be a leak. They came back a month later with ultraviolet dye and found the leaks. The unit is no longer under warranty so I'll have to pay out of pocket for repairs. Had the leaks been detected earlier, like within the first year, they'd be under warranty. Pedroza recharged the unit with freon and it's working fine but another company I conferred with says that won't necessarily solve the problems I experienced and they recommend repairing the unit. Pedroza has not followed through on the whole house humidifier. Pedroza doesn't return half my calls. Others have told me similar experiences with the company and with equipment failure they've installed. I have no evidence that the company installed the equipment incorrectly and caused damage to the heat pump wich is leaking gas but I've been told by another company that it's highly unlikely for a new heat pump to be leaking freon. I feel the company has charged too much for service calls ($165 most recently) just to tell me there are leaks and not to worry about it for right now and they'll come back in the fall and check the unit again. The other company I conferred with said if leaks have been identified then they should be fixed. I can't say that Pedroza is responsible for the equipment failing but Pedroza is responsible for not returning calls, not taking care of the problem to my satisfaction. That is, rather than f
