Barry asked me to meet him at the carpet showroom he shares with another company, which I agreed to do, but as I was driving up to the showroom he called me and said he couldn't make it but someone there would help me. I went and picked out a carpet I liked and took home the sample board, which had all the details and pricing of the carpet on it. I let Barry know I'd found a carpet I liked and set up a time for him to come to my home and measure. He came out and measured and picked up the carpet sample board. I showed him the exact color and style I wanted, everything was on the board. Barry emailed me an estimate the next day for $1438, which I accepted. I asked him if I could meet him at the showroom the next day and give him a deposit, I also wanted to see the pad that he was going to install as he had stated it was an upgraded pad. We agreed to meet at noon the next day but an hour before our appointment he called and asked if he could just pick up a check at my office. I explained I'd rather meet at the showroom so I could see the pad, he reluctantly agreed. When I arrived at the show room Barry informed me he had the wrong pricing for the carpet and it was actually going to cost close to $2,000. I don't know how on earth he could be so mistaken on the pricing as everything was listed on the sample board he had in front of him. Needless to say I am very disgusted with the way this man does business. He gave me a written estimate and then said sorry it's wrong, It's going to cost you an extra $600+. This is no way to do business.

I cant say enough good things about Barry. After a long Summer of finishing my basement, it was a relief to have someone stick to their bid and finish on time (the only one of subs to do so). Barry always responded to my calls and emails, and would be at my house within days of me scheduling him. His workers were fast and friendly. The vinyl and carpet were both put in well, but the tile came out amazingly. And then there is Barry. I so needed the last bit of the basement to go well after so much disappointment. Barry could see how stressed I was, and worked around me and my schedule. He has a great attitude, and made adjustments to keep me happy. I would definitely hire him again.

We were very please with his work and the men who worked for him. As we are fairly new to the area, we asked for suggestions from a local decorator when we wanted to replace carpet in two bedroom and stairs with wood. Barry was very helpful, professional and knowledgeable. His men were also personable and professional. Barry oversaw the work and when there was a spot we felt needed attention, he was right there saying "no, this needs fixing"....and it turned out perfect. I would highly recommend Barry Floors. I should mention that the decorator gave us a second name from which to get an estimate...a larger operation. Well, they came out, took measurements and NEVER called back. As it turned out we got the best personal service from a "smaller" operation. We are so pleased and it's beautiful!

We had a large project to have done in our home. Barry Richardson met with us and understood from the beginning exactly what we wanted. We had different crews, hired by Barry Floors, to install new hardwoods, refinish hardwoods, carpet bedrooms and turn our old carpeted staircase into gorgeous hardwood stairs. Barry was always professional and attentive to our project. There was nothing too small or too much trouble that he did not handle with a smile! We are so happy with the work done by Barry Floors. Our home looks brand new! Thank you, Barry!!

Great experience! Small company that does honest work with fair pricing. They had to remove two layers of flooring to complete the install and it looks great! Everyone is very easy to get a long with.

Exceptionally well. Barry was personally attentive at every step. He supervised the subcontractors and filled in himself. He was prompt to get on every issue we raised. The installed flooring is beautiful!

Barry's wonderful installation crew removed and replaced over 2,000 square feet of carpet plus two sets of stairs. The previous owners' dogs had soiled the old carpet, so the crew applied two coats of Kilz to the floor also. Despite having to go up and down stairs many times removing the old and bringing in the new carpet and pad, the crew did a fabulous job in only six hours. They brought their own lunches and never took much of a break as far as I could tell. They were quiet, courteous and professional throughout and left the site spotless. The seams are perfect! Their hard work made a one-day job out of what I was sure would be two. Highly recommended and I'll be using them again in a few months.

Barry and his team were professional in all respects. We received a prompt estimate for the job and were able to get an installation schedule that met our needs. Hardwood floor work included demolition, wood installation, sanding, and application/curing of finish coats, all completed within 3 1/2 days. Finished product was very acceptable to us and was done on the schedule we agreed on with Barry. Only surprise--and it may be common within this type work-- was our need to separately arrange for moving furniture in advance of flooring work, and Barry helped us get some moving help. Given reasonableness of floor refinishing bid, we were able to accommodate the move within our budget. Bottom line: Quality work, reliable service, on time, and at a reasonable cost.

First the floor was really bad. 9 years of wear and tear. Dog Traffic and Kids. The floor was first sanded. The sanding was done in all areas even the closets. They than clean the area till there was no sand. Than food a finish on it. First Day. The next day they ran a slight buff/sand before putting the final finish. The guys doing the work were friendly and helpful. Answer every question that I asked. Worked very hard and were on time. They completed the job 1 day early. Amazing job. I really did not expect the final result. It looks better than the day it was laid. I would never think twice in using Barry Floors again. Fare price and Outstanding job. Thanks Guys. This floor was on its last leg and you brought it too live another 10 year or more.

Barry visited our home within a few days of our first phone conversation. He seemed nice enough when he arrived however, within a few minutes of arriving he started to tell me something about the floor then said, "Well, I'll have to discuss that with your husband." He did not take any time to discuss options available instead he just told me what he would install. He also seemed bothered that I would not let him remove pieces of my floor at the time of his visit. We didn't get the actual quote from him until almost a week after his visit and that was only because my husband called to ask him if he was even interested in doing the work. After receiving several other quotes I learned that there were several options as far as size and quality of wood as well as options for replacing the vents that would make the floor look so much better but he didn't offer any of this. His quote only listed 2 1/4" red oak. I came to find out later that there are different varieties of red oak as well as different sizes. When I inquired about which red oak he was quoting it turned out he was quoting what I consider to be the "lower quality" of the two main choices. It is very unfortunate that I had this experience considering that Barry came highly recommended not only on Angie's List but from the company who performed a refinish on the floor in question several months back. If he had taken the time to give me the proper information and given me choices instead of acting like he didn't want to talk to me because I am a woman he might have had a shot at this project.

I had my red oak hardwood floor refinished on the main floor of my house (living, dining, entry, kitchen, 2 closets and hallway). Barry was awesome to work with. He is personal, professional and funny. He was timely, knowledgeable and answered my many many questions. He instantly put my mind at ease about the refinishing process. My floors were refinished while I was on vacation and I came home to perfectly finished floors. I would easily recommend him.

Even though it was only an estimate, Barry took the time to listen to my needs and carefully evaluate them. His honest opinion about the necessity for work to be done now was appreciated.

Barry and his crew refinished the cherry floors in my home before I moved in. When I called for an estimate, Barry called me back while he was on vacation to let me know that he'd be in touch as soon as he was back in town. He did call back promptly and his price was very competitive. He took the time go to the house with my realtor to measure the floor area prior to closing and his crew was there the day after closing to start the job. They took down all window coverings and thoroughly masked the area. As a result there was very little dust to clean up after the job was done. After two coats of polyurethane Barry thought the floors needed another coat, so his crew put down another coat and it certainly looked better for it! There was no increase in the price despite being a bigger job than he originally expected. Barry Floors was skilled and professional throughout the project and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future

We originally had Barry Floors come out to the house and show us different carpet and hardwood, and were very pleased with the variety and quality that was available. It was a little unusual, but very nice that the owner (Barry) himself came out and showed us the products. He was very helpful with helping us make an informed decision on the type of wood and the color that would be best for our home. Choosing the carpet was the same way, it couldn't have been easier. The prices were very competitive. The installation team was professional looking, very knowledgeable about the job and considerate of my home and my dogs. I liked that! We had a pipe break where a large portion of our hardwood floors were ruined, Barry Floors came out, matched the wood and the color perfectly, you would never know we had any damage. I would highly recommend Barry Floors to anyone wanting a quality product, professionalism, and an incredible responsiveness to the customers needs.

Barry Floors Inc. used a secondary contractor (in this case a local wood floor refinishing company) to perform the actual job of refinishing the oak wood flooring in house we are putting on the market. A two man crew was used and took two and a half days to perform the actual labor which included the drying time before the floor could withstand any traffic. Day one the crew arrived promptly and answered all of my questions and concerns. They were very courteous and began without haste. The entire area being worked was masked off from the other rooms that could be contaminated from the minimal amount of dust that the sanding machine creates. The first day was spent sanding and staining the entire surface with one of three different stains (your pick), and the first coat of polyurethane (first coat needs to dry for at least 12+ hours). The second day they put a final coat of polyurethane on and let it dry for at least another 24hrs. After the job was complete, only a fine coating of dust remained in the areas that were being sanded. This was expected and all I had to do was a quick wipe down with a damp cloth and this was all that was needed to clean it up. This property was not being occupied at the time of the job so we left a house key with the labor team so they could arrive on the second day and get straight to work without waiting on me to show up to give them access to the house. After they were finished with the job they notified Barry it would be ready the following afternoon. Per Barry he went to inspect the work for himself and pickup the house key from the labor team. When Barry finished with his inspection of the work and with his concurrence, he in turn notified me that the job was complete and asked to come meet at the job site for a self inspection and delivery of the house key. Unfortunately I was unable to meet him to go over the job site and we agreed to leave the key in a place where I could pick it up later. I eventually arrived a day later to inspect the job. The color (cutmeg) of the floor turned out beautiful as well as the sheen (satin) on the floor, not too dull and not too shiny. However, I did notice a few places throughout the floor that with the right reflection of light you could notice places where the polyurethane hit the floor in heavy drops and dried that way on the floor. You don't see them when there is no light reflecting on the floor, but when there is light reflecting on the exact area of the drops, they are quite noticeable. Honestly though, I could see where somebody could miss seeing these, especially before they had a chance to dry and create a more three dimensional aspect. As well some masking was left stuck to the ceiling when I was inspecting. I would definitely have Barry and his team try to fix these issues if I was not in such a hurry, but I have other work being done and contractors on the property and can't afford allowing this small issue to hold everything else up. Caveat: Not sure how Barry is able to manage, direct and/or affect a team of laborers that do not work directly for him, especially if work being performed turns bad. It is not explained up front that he will be using a 3rd party company to perform the actual labor. Good thing I had no real concerning issues with the 3rd party labor team. Mostly though, I am very satisfied with the price I paid for the quality and timeliness of the work performed.

Barry Floors installed hardwood floors while we were traveling. Came home to a beautiful new floor. No dust/dirt was left behind, no mess or anything. I already had hardwoods and they were adding on to what I already had; the new section matches the old stuff perfectly. They did the work when they said they would and at the price they quoted.

We were so impressed with Barry Floors! We closed on our home in October 2013. The entryway, kitchen, breakfast room, hallway and small bathroom have hardwood flooring. The flooring was scratched up and badly needed work. I chose Barry Floors because of the reviews on Angie's list. I called to make an appointment to have them come take a look and give me an estimate. Although they were very busy, they were able to squeeze us in within a few days. We were promptly given an estimate on a light sanding and a maintenance coat which was initially thought to be almost as good as a full refinish. We were wanting to move into our house in a matter of a couple of weeks so we didn't have much time. For obvious reasons, we wanted to get the floors done before the movers arrived. We were given a very reasonable quote on the job we had agreed upon and the work was started the next day or two. Once they got started they discover the previous owners had used some type of product with wax on the floors causing it to gum up when the sanding was started. It made it impossible to do the job as we had planned. Therefore we had to do a full refinish which took them five straight days and the floors turned out beautiful! Our floors are not what you usually see in most homes. They are a bit darker, with the full grain showing through, giving it a more rustic look which I love. The quality of work was done by a true professional. They got the floors done in the short time frame we gave them, including drying time and we moved in on the day we had planned. Our floors now look brand new! It was a pleasure working with Barry Floors and it was stress fee to boot.

HORRIBLE. I needed repairs on portions of my hardwood flooring. After he told me I could afford to have all replaced (over 750 sq feet), I couldn't wait for him to leave. He said he would email me with an estimate for repairs within the next 2 days. Never heard from him again.

They gave an honest quote which ended up being the final price, so there were no surprised. He even did more than we discussed. It took about a week to do the work and there was a crew of about 6 people; each person had a speciality job. I was very satisfied with the results.

The work was completed beautifully and with a minimum of dust. We anticipated applying two coats of polyurethane, but when the wood absorbed more than expected Barry insisted that another coat be applied so that the end result was perfect. It is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend Barry Floors.

Service was excellent. On 4 and 5 June 2013, the carpet was removed, subfloor cleaned and treated with KILZ for old pet urine stains, and the hardwood was installed by one crew. The sanding/finishing crew arrived on 5 June and completed final coat of polyurethane on 7 June 2013. The tile crew completed work on 11-12 June, and also installed the railing and iron ballisters. Owner Barry Richardson did two inspections after that, and completed fine detail work – trim, caulking, minor drywall repair, and some painting of drywall repair and trim. He also did a final clean up.

I had another contractor scheduled, and he could not do the project due to death in the family. Barry fit me into the schedule, and project was a bedroom 10 x 10 Bellawood Hardwood. The wood was not measure correctly from the other contractor, but Barry team cut the pieces just right, and it all fit together. I had him do new trim as well, and project was completed on time and in the budget amount. I will be using him again for the next room. Great Job Pat Steiger Colorado Springs, CO

We were impressed with the quality and attention to details. Quality is very important to us and I am willing to pay for quality workmanship. The floors are beautiful! My wife is so happy with the results that life is good! We went with a Brazillian Cherry pre-engineered floor downstairs on the concrete foundation and red oak solid floor on the stairs and hallway. We were very impressed on how well the two matched up when completed. We wish we could have done the whole house: but we will contact them in the future to do the rest of the house. Outstanding work!

I would give them A on everything. I would recommend them to friends and family members. I would use them in the future.
