Alpine Mitigation (owner is Guntis Kizans) was contacted to install the radon system. Guntis was able to work around our schedule and installed the system in a couple of days. My wife was not around when Guntis and I decided on the location of the system, and when she saw where the exhaust line was located she was not a happy camper! Guntis understood her concerns and relocated the system to where it was not as obtrusive and made her very happy! I expected the relocation bill to be as much as the original work, but Guntis outdid himself and only charged us and additional $100! What a great deal! He also provided us with a radon monitoring system since the new location wouldn't allow the traditional monitor to be used. Guntis is the epitome of an outstanding small business owner - he listens to his customers' concerns and goes above and beyond to make the customer happy. If you have any need for radon mitigation, he's your man!

Radon is the gas that’s naturally occurring and cause cancer if you spend too much time in it so they put in mitigation system to homes to make sure it gets into that. What stood out the most was their responsiveness and they made the process real easy. They were very good.

The radon level in my basement was coming back at 6.1 when I tested it, so I decided to install mitigation as I was considering finishing my basement. I called Guntis and he came by within a few days and provided an estimate. We talked about where to put the system and the box for monitoring. He came back in a few weeks to do the install (I was not in a hurry as not selling my home or anything). He did all the work himself. He was able to hook the system up to the existing french drain system which worked out well. It tested at under 2 once the system was installed.

I've recently had another radon test performed. The unit is still working just as well as the day it was installed.

He was recommended to us by our Realtor for Radon Mitigation for our newly purchased home. He came for the estimate and seemed like a very nice, reasonable, personable, knowledgeable guy. Then when it came to getting us a copy of his estimate, he was unable to email it, so he asked if he could fax it. I said he could fax it to my wife at her office. He called a few days later after experiencing a family issue that delayed the faxing of the estimate. However, even when he said he had faxed it we never got it. He tried again and we still didn't get it. He still had an and quot;email issueand quot; that prevented him from emailing it so he said he would mail it. I asked what the price was, he said it would be about $1,000 which I agreed to and asked him when was the earliest he could instal the system. He gave me his best estimate, but wasn't sure as he was on a job and needed to check his schedule. He told me he would call me back the next day. He never did. We ended going with another company, and I never heard from him again with the exception of finally receiving the estimate in the mail. Or so I thought. Then, several days after we were in the new house he showed up ready to install the radon mitigation system. I felt really badly as according to him we had scheduled that day, but now he was out a contract that he was expecting to complete that day. He was nice about the confusion, but stated that he had called me several times, leaving several messages without any response. My only guess is that he was calling the wrong number. What a mess! In conclusion, nice guy, but has some communication issues that are most likely hurting his business.

I have a radon system 8yrs old and was concerned about the accuracy of the Manometer readings. He listened to my descriptions, concerns, and questions. He assured me the system is working but likely the liquid in the gauge had evaporated. He could tell I was still concerned and gave me the information to get a trustworthy home radon test kit and can simply replace the gauge.

He dug down to the french drain in the window well and attached the system to the side of the house. I measured the Radon before and after and the readings dropped from 6.0 to 1.5. I tested the Radon 3 times since the install and the levels are staying low.

He never got back with me on the bid.

They guaranteed the work for a year. They have come back several times because one of the components on the system has gone out. He has replaced it twice, so I am happy with that. I would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.
