About us

We have been in business for over 27 years and are Nastec and NATE certified. We do over 20,000 service calls per year and about 50% of those are from repeat and referral business. A couple of reasons for that are: we GET OUT the SAME DAY and we have our own training facility where our techs are kept up to date on all the industry changes and not necessarily on your equipment. We are master plumbers, master electricians, and an HVAC company so if you have any needs in these areas let us know.

The guy took a couple of hours to diagnose the dishwasher. Ultimately he decided that overheating caused the problem. Once a unit has overheated it becomes basically unrepairable so we ended up purchasing a new dishwasher. His work was thorough and careful.

We had to wait 2 days for someone to come out - they were supposed to arrive between 10-2 and arrived after 5pm. No phone call to advise us of the delay It is commercial refrigeration and had to wait almost 2 weeks to get repaired..

They did get someone out to me fast. However, they wanted to charge me over $1000 to fix 3 appliances. I ended up only accepting them to fix one appliance. The part was a special order so they charged me over $300 upfront. They then called me back two days later and said they misquoted me and it was going to be an additional $200 due to the cost of the part. After this, I told them to cancel the work. I was charged the $60 fee for them just coming out. Then decided to do the work myself. I fixed my microwave for $25 which they told me would cost $500 to repair. I also fixed my fridge for $12 by replacing some tubing which was for the **special order** part they had to get and the reason why they were going to charge me an additional $200 on top of the $311 I had already paid. They still have not refunded my $311 that I paid upfront before any work was done. Which was my fault for paying before any work had been completed. The diagnosis was wrong, they were about to charge me an arm and a leg for some things that turned out to be simple fixes. Would be very cautious with this company. I am not impressed

The two different technicians that came to the house seems knowledgeable and performed the duties as requested. The problem is with scheduling. I contacted the office at 8 am on the day of the second service call to clean the furnace. The office assured me the technician would be at our home between 8 and 12. At 230 PM no one had shown up. I called and was told a technician would still becoming. About an hour later they call and canceled the call and rescheduled for two days later. If I had not prepaid for the service I would not allow them to return. They need to get the scheduling worked out.

I hired them to repair my ice maker and here has been my experience so far... 11/10/20 scheduled repair between 2-6 - NO SHOW 11/11/20 rescheduled repair 12-4 - NO SHOW again. You must be wondering why I did not fire them after this... well, I prepaid (yes, I know better). 11/13/20 - rescheduled repair 9-12 window- actually shows but after 12. Spends 2 hours in my kitchen. My ice maker is not working still. I am out $776 and 3 days of my time. I, of course, called them and have a new appt window for Monday 16th. Fingers crossed at this point but I am not hopeful. I have filed a dispute with my cc company and I will cancel the dispute if they show and actually fix my ice maker. Tech showed up (1.5 hours outside the appointment window and still have not fixed my ice maker. I plan to hire a reputable company to complete this job and I will be calling the BBB.

We hired Action Appliance to repair our home refrigerator. They were quick to respond, but overcharged outrageously to replace our compressor which they did. The fridge appeared to be fixed, although it was definitely uncharacteristically noisy. It then failed completely after just 3 days, heating up to room temperature. They came back, diagnosed the problem as a need for a new control board. We waited two weeks for a new board which, when installed was never able to cool the fridge below room temperature, though the technician left saying everything was working well. When we called to explain we were not pleased they offered to send an *experienced technician*. Why not send out only competent repair technicans initially? Unfortunately, we did not check their references before hiring them. Do your homework, ie BBB, yelp etc, not just on this site. I would not use either Action Appliance OR Home Advisor again.

John not only replaced the defective dryer drum but also gave me advice about the vent (it was being squashed) and put a strap around the two stacked appliances (washer/dryr) to prevent or reduce vibration.

Dishwasher. No call, no show. I called with 10 minutes left in their *repair window* and was told that the techs were running behind and they were JUST about to call me. They said they would have to reschedule for the next day. The next day, the tech came and *repaired* the dishwasher. Started a cycle and left within about 20 minutes and AFTER charging me almost $300!! The cycle finished and powered off and now the dishwasher will not power on again. Called and no answer. Called again and the girl, Amy (who refused to give me her last name), said that no one was available until Monday...SIX DAYS after they were initially supposed to come out! Leaving me with no dishwasher through the weekend. I said that I could not do that and asked for a refund so I could call someone to actually repair my dishwasher and I was told that they would NOT give me a refund because the service was done, and now it was a WARRANTY issue. If the tech had repaired my dishwasher, then I would be having the same exact issue, the only difference is I have less money to hire someone else to fix it correctly! I am furious! This company is nothing more than a bunch of swindlers with a business license! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They will take your money (a lot of it) and not repair one thing! Amy refused to give me her last name. Amy refused to tell me who the manager, or owner, or her supervisor might be. She said she was the GM, then she said she IS the boss. If you are looking for an honest, trustworthy company, DO NOT USE ACTION APPLIANCE, INC!!!

DO NOT USE, THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR WORK. I replaced $400 worth of parts For my dryer on December 27th last year. In March the dryer was making noises again and a Technician came out and could not find the problem. Now I am having the same problem I had last December and they want to charge me $400 to do the same exact parts replacement. You tell me whether you think that you should replace $400 worth of parts in your dryer every 10 months. When I asked they said they only wanted their parts and labour for 90 days. They were also pretty rude to me on the phone and wanted to argue as opposed to trying to find a solution. I will never use this company again.

They misdiagnosed the repair work, they put in expensive parts that werent needed, they made me pay half that money up front, and they continue to charge for service charges because they cannot fix it. They damaged the refrigerator. They have been late almost every time and were so late yesterday we had to cancel the appointment. It has been a really bad experience.

I had to fix the ice maker in the refrigerator. On the last visit, the tech came out with a new part. The original maker was actually working when he came. He went to replace it with the new part and he stated that the part came in with a broken arm. We told him to put the old one back in. This too does not work. I do not see an arm at all on it. There was a lot of cracking noises as the work was being performed. They have ordered a new ice maker again and supposed to come back to fix it. Right now I would definitely now recommend them now.

I can not recommend this company for dishwasher repair. After a prompt initial visit, everything has gone haywire. After installing 2 new controller boards (1st of which I had to pay for to the tune of $566) the tech realized that was not the problem. Then, after installing a new heating element, he was unable to get the unit working. Action Appliance is now stalling a remedy claiming the manufacturer does not respond. We are now on the 49th day of this fiasco. I reported the problems, but after one week they have not responded.

Terrible company; negligent repairs, excessive fees, incompetent work; a business model that attempts to trap consumers into an endless cycle of warranty callbacks to fix their prior negligent repairs Over the course of a month-4x Appliance came to fix a refrigerator and despite representing each time that everything was fixed and good to go, the refrigerator is still out of operation. Our experience leads us to the conclusion that this company is a consumer predator with questionable business practices.

My furnace stopped working about 6- days before the weather was forecasted to drop down to 8° at night. I obviously needed a company to fix my furnace quickly, because 8° is more than just a comfort issue, it is a life safety issue and water pipe issue. Action Appliance got someone out to my house that day and the technician was very nice and helpful. He said they did not have the control panel in stock and it would take 3-5 business days to arrive but he would do his best to get it fixed in time. Two days later someone called me and said they had the control panel but not a *sample kit* and they were not sure when they would be able to get that part. I asked what a sample kit was and why it was needed because the tech never mentioned it, and the lady told me *we do not give out that information.* I told her I WAS WILLING TO DRIVE OUT OF STATE TO PICK UP THE PART FOR THEM TO ENSURE MY FURNACE WAS FIXED in time, and she still would not tell me anything about the part. She said she would call them back to find out more. I asked her to call me back that same day and she agreed to call me back one way or another to let me know if she heard from anyone. She did not call me back. The next day when I still have not heard back from her, I called a different company. They sent someone out, confirmed they had the part, and fixed my furnace that same day. When I called Action Appliance back to cancel, and to express my concern at not getting a phone call back when I told them I would personally drive out of state to pick up the part on their behalf, the people I spoke to were snarky and dismissive. She kept saying it was impossible for someone else to have the right parts since they did not have them, and her tone was incredibly dismissive and condescending. I could hear other people picking up the phone to listen in on the conversation, so I guess my situation was amusing, because at no point did anyone seem concerned about it being 8° and all I wanted was to pick up the part for them so they could fix my heat. They charged me over $400 in cancellation fees and service fees. No joke. $400. In the meantime, I have heat from a different company, and they are all nice people, not just their techs.
