Westside Heating & Air Conditioning

I got quotes from 3 good heating and air conditioning firms to assess my needs and provide a quote for a new system. Westside Heating and Air Conditioning had the best solution and price of the 3 companies. Westside was very easy to work with and Ron and his team met with me several times to answer all my questions and explain the pros and cons of different options to meet my needs. I liked that their recommendations were based on practical solutions that would do a good job and did not included any expensive products that would be over kill. The system I chose provided everything I wanted and was well below the cost of the other two competitors' bids. Installation started on time and was complete in less than 2 days. Westside was prompt and responsive in every phase of the job. The crew is very experienced and did a quality job. They kept me informed on the job status along the way and got my input on matters when needed. There was one change I wanted after the install was complete and they came back the next day to take care of it. I am very happy with the performance of my new systems from Westside and I am confident that I did not need the more expensive and elaborate equipment recommended in the 2 other competitors' bids to meet my heating and air conditioning requirements.

After last summer, we agreed it was time for AC. I took several bids and Westside was firmly in the middle. When getting the estimate, I appreciated that they listened to what I wanted. We were able to make small tweaks to the bid in a timely fashion and schedule the install. I felt that they suggested just the right amount of work for our needs. Some bids were overkill and others I was suspicious that would leave me with a good system. We were able to add on to an existing, newer furnace system without any problem. The team was very communicative...letting me know when they would arrive and what they needed to move things forward. It was a two day install and the team arrived on time both mornings and got right to work. The updates to the heating system have made it very quiet. I have not tested the AC yet (because... February), but everything seems in good working order. They cleaned up very well and it was like they never were there. In general, I wish all of my projects were so easy. I was (intentionally) doing this project during the slow season, but if you have to wait during the busy season it may be worthwhile to get someone who knows what they are doing (either for install or repair), and really gets the job done. Westside is an excellent provider.

I had a 25 year old heater which was not working efficiently or safely anymore. I knew it was time to replace it so I got three bids from three Angie's List providers. Westside Heating's bid was competitive with the others but price was not my sole criteria. Westside's professionalism was evident from the start. Ron (one of the owners) thoroughly examined every inch of my home, answered all of my questions clearly and presented different solutions. Scheduling the work was easy and the installation went flawlessly. Mike (the other owner), Ron's son Matt, and Jay finished the job in one day. I like that Westside is a family business that clearly takes pride in its work and strives to make the customer happy. There is no hard sell. Ron's original bid had a less expensive heater and I was the one who chose an upgrade. They were very respectful of my home and cleaned up after themselves. All in all, I would say it was one of the best experiences I have had during my 25 years of home ownership. I highly recommend them.

Score one for Angie's List, which I just recently signed up for. It was my first time I used Angie's List and found Westside Heating and Air Conditioning, and they were fantastic. I've had the pleasure of meeting both Mike (on the first visit) and his son (on a second visit) and both were very personable and very clearly explained to me any issues they found. First of all, I called them during a huge cold spell in SoCal (cold for us Angelinos, anyhow!), and they were swamped with customers needing their heating fixed. But Mike found a way to squeeze me into his very tight schedule right away. But you'd think having a swamped schedule would mean long wait times for me, right? Not at all. He arrived very quickly on our appointed day and took care of my problem very quickly and efficiently (I even told my work I would be in late thinking I would end up waiting a while, and by the time Mike was done, I still got to work on time!). When I had them out the second time (which turned out to not be an actual problem, it was an error on my part), again they found a very close date to come out and check out my "problem". And this time, Mike's son showed up but he was also very prompt and I pretty much didn't even have to wait at all. And when they found out there was no real problem and it was my mistake, they were very understanding and didn't even charge me for the short visit. That, my friend, is how you build customer loyalty! Lastly, the price for the initial problem fixed by Mike was much more reasonable than I was expecting. Having had several plumbers out to my place in the past, I expected similar price ranges for heating and A/C. But Westside Heating and Air Conditioning gave me a VERY reasonable price, IMO, considering I bought form them a new thermostat and filter and such. Needless to say, I am going to keep this company on my list from here on out so I can use them repeatedly. Thanks to both Mike and his son for helping me out! My appointment was between 9:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. and Mike showed up around 9:10 a.m. He was very nice and asked me how the heater was acting, after I explained how we had to listen to make sure that the burner stayed on after we put the thermostat on the heat setting, Mike took his ladder to the attic door and went right up. After about 10 or 15 minutes, Mike asked me to turn on the heater and it came on with no problem and I was a happy camper! We were concerned about how much the repair would cost since we were just coming out of the holiday season and funds were running low, but when Mike gave me the news of the repair being minor and it was just $92.00 we were very pleased. He worked fast, quiet and he was a pleasure to do business with. I would definitely call this company again for heating and air conditioning.

Ron came out a few days before install and went over all that needed to be done. He did a thorough check of old equipment and vents in the house. Gave me suggestions on what to do and called the next day with a quote. Very happy with the price, I found it very reasonable. Matt and Jay came out the following week at the time scheduled and installed the heater. Matt explained every thing to me pertaining to the heater and thermostat. The whole crew was courtesy, and very professional in their job. I would definitely use Westside again for future needs and would highly recommend them to any of our friends. Also they cleaned up after the install. Very happy with Westside and my new heater.

Mike and Jay showed up right on time. They covered everything so there was absolutely no mess. The job was done quickly with no issues at all. Super friendly and professional. I can't say enough about how great they are!! Definitely an A+ experience!!

Appreciated Ron's willingness to work within our budget constraints. He and his crew were excellent - attentive and thorough with each and every step of the process from the quote through to follow-up. They even cleaned up - leaving no mess. The costs were reasonable and comparable to other quotes I received. Besides price - we considered the fact that Westside Heating and Air Conditioning is local - the owners live in our area and care about the quality of their work and their reputation. We will use them for any future projects or routine maintenance and with absolute confidence .... highly recommend them.

My dryer duct was clogged so I called them. I spoke with Ron. one of the owners. They happened to be doing a job a few blocks from me and came over within the hour. Ron climbed under my house--not easy--and told me the duct had broken apart and was blocked up with lint. He gave me a bid and told me when the guys were through they could come do mine. He thought it would be around 1:00 but they would call me 30 minutes in advance. They called me at 12:30 and arrived promptly at 1:00.The guys were professional and neat. It was not easy since most of the work was performed in a small crawl space. One of the workers was the other owners son. They did more than was promised for the same bid. I am considering a new heating and AC system for my home and would use these guys without question.

In the end it was a circuit breaker - but I had reset them to no avail last night. Mike, the owner of the business came and he did some tracing of power and checking. Then back to the breaker panel where he did the multi flip technique of the breakers and tested for power and the systems came back on. Since that was just a symptom fix, Mike's recommendation is a review of the breakers and wiring by an electrician, to who he gave me a referral. This is the second time we have done business and I find Mike to be personable, communicative, and focused on the job. He and Westside Heating are always my first call.

I call them up and i explain is for my brother in Santa Monica and hes scheduled is very busy and only time he's available is in the morning,and i call in hes behalf because i now more the him about AC and i'm living 400 miles a way from him and i don't want anybody to take vantage of him because hi don't know anything about AC and Furnace. Wend I call i spoke with Kathy and she promise me they will taken care my brother and they did. They been professional they explain to my brother what is wrong with the furnace and how much will cost to be fix ,and they got the right diagnostic,and my brother is happy with there performance. Westside Heating and Air Conditioning were terrific. They did what they'd agreed to do, when they'd agreed to do it and for the amount of the original estimate. They arrived on time and completed the job with no surprises. They were very neat, leaving my home as they found it despite having to work in a crawl space above my kitchen and having to install a new air flow outlet in the kitchen ceiling. I have already recommended them without reservation to several of my friends.

The job went great. Ron and the rest of the crew showed up when they said they would, were very friendly and did an excellent job. I recommend them and will certainly not hesitate to use them in the future.

A little negotiation was required about when someone would come out, which meant that it took a few days to organize the visit. When the provider came, I told him what another provider had suggested - the need for reducting the house - and asked him for a second opinion as well as a quote. The reason I liked these guys so much is that they said "I'll give you a quote, since you asked for it. But my opinion is that reducting wouldn't actually help your bills that much, and that you'd never recoup the cost of service in a reduction in your utility bills". Now, any provider who says that you DON'T need his services strikes me as being generally trustworthy, or at least not trying to take advantage of you. And this is the impression that I got from the provider from the first call to the last contact - a small business of competent tradesmen just trying to provide good, honest service. The quote that was provided was a little more than the original quote, but based on their comments, I've decided to go with neither. If I had decided to proceed, I certainly would have used Westside.

I needed to replace my old AC system and asked Ron to come and take a look. It's a free inspection for new installation. Ron came on time and checked all my rooms for the AC duct and AC machine. He recommended gas furnace instead of heat pump that another company recommended. He gave a reasonable price. Because the access panel of my crawl space is too small and it has to be expanded to let the machine get into the crawl space. Ron inspected the frame of the access to the crawl space and recommended me to ask somebody else to expand it. He won't do it because he is not confident about this work and he is afraid of the structure of the cripple wall. later on I did some foundation work and they said it's OK to expand the access panel to the crawlspace and it won't affect the structure of the foundation. I have another company did the AC work because they can also expand the access to the foundation, and they almost match the price what Ron has provided, in addition, they installed a better equipment. Although I didn't hire Ron because of expanding the hole to the crawlspace, Ron is the only one to check all the rooms and direction of duct. I respect his opinion that he won't do the work of the cripple wall. They won't do the work that they are not confident at the work. It looks like that they are a responsive and reliable company.

When I called to ask about coming out to give a bid to add A/C Ron was dismissive and discourteous. He said he is too busy. The property is just a few blocks from the business so I was shocked. I will not refer him in the future. If you need a response right away, don't call this company.

Smoothly, no problems

While exploring options for an A/C unit and installation, my fiancee and I met with four different companies and ultimately chose Westside Heading and Air Conditioning and we are extremely pleased with our choice. Ron from Westside was the first person to visit the house and give us an estimate and his friendly and straightforward approach resonated with us. He explained clearly what our options were, what he recommended as a minimum install and allowed us to consider our own upgrades and choices. There was no pressure or heave salesmanship and no sense of any unnecessary upsale. We have existing central heating so the job was strictly about adding A/C to what was already in place. The quoted costs were competitive and in line with what we researched as comparable for this level of work. There was a four man crew who showed up to install the unit and they were very friendly, efficient and aware of our space and needs. Particularly in the fact we had to leave them alone at the house with our dog and they went out of their way to be comfortable with the dog and make sure he was kept safe and secure. They went over all the details with us succinctly and completed the install in one day. They have since followed up a few times to ensure the system is working properly and make sure we don't have any questions or issues. I have now recommended them to my neighbor who is considering a system. If you want a no hassle, straightforward, cost competitive experience for A/C purchase and installation you can rely on Westside Heating and Air Conditioning.

The people at Westside Heating and Air are great. They don't try to oversell their products. They scheduled the work and installed it in a timely manner. They coordinated well with the electrician (which they said would cost a little extra and did). They explained various options and listened to our needs. The unit has worked perfectly and is quiet. We are enjoying a cooler summer.

Westside Heating was very responsive in coming out for a bid. The problem with the heater was clearly explained, as were options for the air filter. Scheduling was clear, and communications easy when I needed to contact Ron. He was very accommodating in working around plumbers who were also at my home due to an emergency situation. The installation was done in one day, and care taken for minimal disturbance. Cleaning was minimal after work was done. I will now be using Westside for regular maintenance; i.e. , changing filters

they were very professional, they had to make a new entrance to our ceiling crawl space in the hall way , and they did a great job with that. They cleaned everything up nicely. You would never know they were here. we are in the midst of the classic September heat wave, and I am thankful for our central air. It only took a few days to get the job done.

The crew was excellent and finished the work in 2 days. They came in, did their job and left no trace. Clean, respectful, and an excellent installation. And they put up with our two nosy dogs. Highly recommended.

I have no complaints, what so ever! Everything was done in a timely, efficient and professional manner. They kept me informed of what was going on at all times and called to make sure I was happy with everything along the way. Would not hesitate for one second to use them again and/or recommend them to others. Several of my neighbors have used this company and have had the same positive experience.

It went very well. It was a complicated job because I didn't want to have the condenser on the ground behind my house which would have been the easiest/cheapest place to locate it. I use that space as a playspace for my toddler so I wanted the condenser to go on our roof instead. Ron and Mike at Westside helped me find the quietest condenser possible and were able to do the install with a minimum amount of cosmetic work needed post-installation inside my garage and on the back wall of our house. The system is running smoothly and quietly in our house which gets very hot upstairs and my toddler is sleeping like the baby he still is. Everyone is happy!
