Description of Work: Martin and his crew, Darren, were very professional and responsive to our needs. I checked him out on Angie's List and ask for referrals. I did contact all of his referrals and got glowing comments from everybody. Now that the project is completed, I will add my own glowing comment to the accolades of all the others. The crew performs to a high standard with a great work ethic. They arrive on time and do a full days work. Their skills are amazing, it was very interesting to watch them work. They arrived, set up shop and went to work and kept theirs heads downs all day. They cleaned up in the evening, broke their work area down, and then repeated daily until they were done. I would use them again, or refer them in a heart beat. The finishing crew that they use is equally good, showing up on time and working efficiently. The job is totally done now and we are very very pleased. Can't wait to have people over to see our newest addition to our beautiful home. The amount spent that is shown above does include the complete job including the finishing crew. The job that we asked Martin to do was to add skirting to our stairway walls on both sides, change the existing cap on the pony wall side to a very custom design and replace all the painted wood spindels with metal spindles, replace existing treads and risers. All of Martin's work was done in oak and then the refinishing crew stripped to bare wood the existing oak handrail and then stained and lacquered everything. Job is now done and we wonder why we waited. We are delighted. Randy & Catherine

Description of Work: I called Martin Stairways Inc for a quote because I was looking at getting my stairs done so I did call them. I talked to the owner and we had some email correspondence and I got a quote from him. I gathered a quote to have the stairs put in and stained and painted.

Description of Work: Martin and his son replaced our stair railing with a custom oak system. This involved modification from the original plan, but with their experience, it was not at all a problem.

Description of Work: We hired Martin Crandell of Martin Stairways to remodel our old curved stairs and install new maple curved handrail and treads, iron balusters and wainscoting on the curved walls. Martin is a local contractor with years of experience in stair construction and remodeling which is very intricate. He brought samples of balusters and posts to our house to select from and we felt very comfortable when we met him that we were dealing with an experienced stair contractor who knew what he was doing. We were very impressed with Martin’s knowledge, his extensive library of pictures of the many stairs and styles that he has built and his guidance as to what would look nice in our home. He gave us a fair price and was punctual and completed the job on time as promised. The overall look of our new staircase has significantly improved our home and Martin did a good quality job.
