+ -1 moreThe repair person showed up. Started looking at the ovens. Wouldn't communicate with us. We decided to just let him get started. Then he got a call on his cellphone and started speaking to someone in another language for about ten minutes. Doesn't that just seem rude.?Then he gave us a form to sign before he could do any work. It was a waiver of liability and indemnification of Active Appliances for any damage they might do to the appliances or anything else in our home, whether they caused the damage or not. What? I'm a lawyer. I would never agree in advance not to hold someone responsible for whatever harm they may cause. He refused to do the work and left. I called Active Appliance and the dispatcher confirmed no work would be done unless the homeowner indemnified them and held them harmless for their own mistakes. Made me wonder whether they had been sued a lot and their lawyer decided to just have homeowners sign releases that prevented claims.
Description of Work: This is the KitchenAid-required repair facility for their ovens. We have two brand-new ovens that show intermittent error messages whether we are using them or not. They don't turn off when directed. Just a lot of problems with the electronics. The provider schedules with 6 hour windows. Would be better if they didn't keep you home-bound for that big a window. See below - they just aren't consumer friendly.
