Reliable Roofing responded within hours of searching for roofers on Angie's List, and was the only contractor to make additional calls to contact me. Project Manager Ray (and his assistant) was very helpful and explained the project to my wife and myself. Our original plan was to improve our roof for solar. Ray did a thorough inspection on the roof and in the attic. Based on his findings we decided to have the roof stripped, replacement of damaged insulation in the attic, overlaying plywood over the old damaged skip sheathing, membrane underlayment, replacement of vents and flashing, 50 year energy efficient shingles and ridge caps. Demolition crew showed up to commence the project and completed work and covered up with tarps. Next day the project was completed save for the area around the satellite dish, which required AT&T involvement. Gutters were replaced taking only half a day. As soon as AT&T completed their work they returned and completed the area. All work provided by Reliable Roofers was performed in a timely and professional manner. A plus was that the crews all cleaned up the yard everyday before leaving. Excellent job!! Thank you Ray and your crews for an amazing job!!

It took them 2 months to finish the job as compared to what was promised to finish in 2 weeks.

It's a mistake to hire them, I spend so much time to ask them to come back and continue the work, I hired them to replace my whole roof: 1. Time: when they do the evaluation, they convinced me they will finish the work in a week, because the rainy season is about to come, at the end it took more than 2 months, they did the demolition the next day and just let it opened for 2 weeks, after the plywood installed, and another 2 weeks underlayment installed, then my house just stay in the rain without shingle for another 2 weeks. Their promised schedule always slipped, the workers didn't show up more than so many times without prior informed, I had to call/text them more than 10 times to ask what happened, the project manager always told me he needed to ask and call me back, but in most cases they just don't respond. I have to call several times to get a small update, I can't even trust their new schedule until I see it happened. 2. While they work, they just throw the waste everywhere, I found cans, materials, broken ladder, material package and waste randomly left on my front and back yard, driveway, until now large sack of attic waste are still on my driveway, they don't respond to my text/call about when they will clean it up. 3. Quality: When they told me it's done, I see the metal flashing are flipped without fixing on the roof, electric wires/cables are hanging off the siding(yes, they break it during demolition), unused shingles are left on the roof, those are so obviously undone, and they are asking me to sign completion of work and final payment already. This project cost me about 30,000 USD for 1600 sqft house so it's not like I hired anyone who showed me the lowest price. I hired them because they have a good reputation, but I don't feel the way it supposed to be, it's hard for me to recommend anyone to hire them according to my experience.

*** Only facts*** I contracted with Reliable Roofing and retro on October 23, 2019. They originally told me that my four Plex would be done within one week. Large reason why I chose that company was because of the salesman ARTIN, very informative, nice humorous guy. They did the tear off on time and was done within a day or two days. But after that there wasn t any work for weeks. I spoke with ARTIN two or three times within the month he explained to me that there was a material shortage problem. Since we were not in the rainy season yet, I didn t see a problem . The last time I talked with ARTIN was Nov 14. At that time he assured me that the roof would be installed Nov 18-19. I attempted to contact him at the end of the week Friday, November 22. He did not return my call. I text him a couple of times and then left another voicemail. He still never Returned my call. As of the writing of this review November 29,I have not heard from him. My tenant did notify me on Saturday Nov 23, That someone was working on the roof. I assumed they were delayed and they was going to get the job done by the end of the weekend, since the first storm was due in right before Thanksgiving. November 26, I went by the property since I hadn t heard from ARTIN yet telling me that everything was complete, to find out that none of the flashes around the whole perimeter was installed. There was still product on top of the roof. Friday, November 29 I called their office headquarters. Talked with their assistant manager who told me she would get back to me. She never got back to me , so I gave her another call the same day and she told me that she talked with the manager who only came in for a few minutes and she would try to call me later on that day, Friday Nov. 29 or Monday Dec 2, I explained to her that another storm was coming in for the weekend is there anyone that can come out. she reiterated that the manager would give me a call that evening. No one ever contacted me. Update as of 12/19/19 my roof is still not complete.

I was very surprised by the company's requirement that both my wife and I (homeowners) be present during their alleged inspection visit! Not only is it ridiculous but incredibly restrictive for a working family.  They obviously have more work than they need and are trying to up sell services we don't need.

This was an outstanding experience! The supervisory personnel were outstanding. We had extensive cumulative termite damage to the wooden infrastructure of our roof and attic. Although we had had numerous termitings, with subsequent re-tarrings, no one had ever mentioned the gradually increasing structural termite damage, probably because they were not qualified to repair it. Reliable Roofing correctly diagnosed the problem, and explained it clearly, as well as their proposed course of action. The workers were also very experienced at what they were doing. Now, with previous bolting and boarding of our building's foundation,we now feel much more prepared to withstand serious damage in upcoming earthquakes. It was worth every penny of the cost. We highly recommend this company, indeed already have to at least one friend!

I paid 1.5x the other quotes for this company because I fell for their high pressure sales tactics, and the other companies would have done my garage roof as well. Half way through the job, they claimed I required plywood to be put down and that it would cost 12k. The plywood was not required, and the price they gave was 3x what every other company I talked to said they'd do it for. They repeatedly lied to me about why it would cost so much, telling me the reason was work that was already budgeted in and paid for. They also did an INCREDIBLY bad job of cleaning up. After making them come out 2 more times to pick up their trash/nails, there are still hundreds of nails easily findable All over the property, and pieces of shingles scattered as well. I finally signed the paper saying the job was done, just so I could be rid of them.

We signed contract with agreement that they would start immediately and finish while we are out of town. This was to accommodate their schedule and save cost for the company in leveraging and sharing the resources of the nearby job. We reluctantly agreed while we preferred to start when we were around. We needed to make several special arrangements with our house sitter, animals sitter and neighbors. The first day they did the roof demo in two hours and we left town. The next five days nobody worked, the job dragged on was just starting we returned from vacation a week later. Lasted more than a week to complete. The project manager was never around, didn't return calls. We had no idea when they?ll work and when the job will be completed. It was blamed on inspection scheduling? this was an overblown excuse. We jumped through many hoops to accommodate their schedule all for not. The workers did a fine job when they were scheduled to work, but the whole experience was very frustrating

First -- I'll know the quality of the work next time it rains. The gentleman who bid the project was great, and all else wasn't. ) All initially went well until the day they stripped the roof off. I recieved a call telling me the General Manager wanted me to stop by the home as he needed to show me something. I requested I be told what I was walking into, so I'd be able to start problem solving if it was a big problem. The response..... if its a big deal i'm sure they'd let you know&. (No return call). When I arrived on site, I was brought up on the roof and shown the boards were more than 1/8; apart and instructed that this is NOT up to current code and wouldn;t pass an inspection. I'd need to add to the structure by re-sheathing the entire roof. Cost? Another 10 thousand dollars. I was totally over a barrel as my roof was gone, and I agreed to that on the spot that evening. The whole thing felt to me very hinky, so the next morning I called LA Building and safety and spoke with an inspector. I was informed there no such code, and It was then recommended I stop work and call for a pre-inspection to allow an inspector to see the conditions. When and inspector came out for that pre- inspection, he repeated the same -- there was no code saying I needed to re-sheath the entire house due to the boards being more than 1/8; apart -- period. All was just fine, and the work could proceed as is. Response from reliable Roofing? I would need to pay a restock fee for all the sheathing acquired and the labor used to pick it up, and deliver. Summary -- The General Manager from Reliable Roofing looked me in the eye and told me something was code and it wasn't. He looked me in the eye and gave me a price of almost $10,000 for a job I didn't need. Draw your own conclusion as those are just the facts. What I will say is after re-reading other reviews, I am NOT the first person to have had this experience. The following day I arrived to look at the work and discovered that the perimeter of the house was covered nails and detritus. All the more upsetting as there was a child living in the home and I had made daily cleanup a specific request given safety and liability issues. I called the gentleman who bid the job and he was likewise upset about it... I told him I'd clean it up and to just let the workers know to please clean up the job-site at the end of each day. The project is now over and while the job looks good, I guess weâ ll see when it rains. That said....thats the experience for what it was.
