Chimney Clean Company

Scheduling was straightforward. Worker showed up on time and performed scheduled work at price agreed upon at time of scheduling, and cleaned up afterwards. I don't have any way of judging the quality of the cleaning, but everything else was excellent.

Things seemed to go quite well (though we haven't tested it with a fire yet). Dennis arrived a few minutes late, but was very clean in his prep - tarping the entire area. Noted a problem with our flue right away (it was partially rusted and not opening enough, which we previously couldn't see since the bar swung until it stopped). He was able to get the flue to swing a bit more freely to the fully open position. He also noted that the current chimney cap/spark arrestor were not allowing enough airflow out. He installed a new cap and screen and is pretty certain that the two issues of the flue and cap were the bulk of our problem. (He also swept our chimney, though not much soot was present). All in all, it went well. Dennis was very friendly and professional - and knew his stuff. He also offered a n/c return visit if we find that it is still smoking back. I would definitely use this company again.

Everything was good with this company. They price had also seemed reasonable, and I would use them again in the future.

Excellent service - took a little time to get an appointment but was a very pleasant experience overall. The workers came on time (actually about 10 minutes early), had booties, covered the carpet and surrounding furniture. Explained what they were doing, what they had completed. The floor of my fireplace is actually much lower than it should be - they pointed this out, suggested that they could either make a ledge inside which would cost `$50.00 - or that I could go to Home Depot and buy 4 bricks for about $1.00, which would serve the same process (I chose the Home Depot route). Definitely would use again.

They were very good because when the representative came out he had the booties on. I have hardwood flooring so there was no dirt brought inside the house. Everything was very clean. He let me know what he was going to do. He was very professional. When he was doing all the repair work he was willing to do a service for free. He was pretty good. They came out few minutes early to their appointment.

Dennis was on time and took care of the first task of stove removal and returned for chimney and fireplace cleaning. He was conscientious about covering his shoes with plastic when entering the house and covering the carpeting with sheeting while cleaning the fireplace box and two story chimney. He gave me instructions on returning to fireplace fires and using the damper. I was pleased with a job well done. I particularly like the fact that Chimney Clean keeps its customers in the loop with his wife Sheila and Colleen sending reminders no matter how long it's been since last serviced. It's a pleasure to do business with these people. You can trust them.

I was pleased with their thorough inspection of the fireplace. After the cleaning, it looks like it has been used very well this year. They did a really good job. I think the price was pretty competitive.

While sweeping my chimney on a prior call, their service person noticed that one of my two chimneys had a big hole in the damper and recommended that I get it fixed. I decided to have them install top dampers on both chimneys for a better seal during the winter. They showed up on time, installed the top dampers and everything went to plan!

Here on time, the guy they sent first covered the fireplace openings to keep the interior clean, then went to the roof to sweep the chimneys. Inspecting the flues, he recommended some minor mortar repair which he did the same call. He also advised that one of my dampers had a large hole in it and that I should consider installing a top damper which was a correct assessment. That couldn't be done that day so was done on a different call.

It had been a couple years since we'd had our chimney cleaned, and I wanted to get it done before we start using our wood stove this season. Ron from Chimney Clean came half hour early and did a thorough job of cleaning the chimney from top to bottom. He protected our living room floor and hearth before pulling out our wood stove for cleaning. He provided a written report with suggestions for things to do to make our chimney safe. He did not appear rushed and answered all of my husband's questions.

He was extremely polite, courteous and answered all questions. He took great care to ensure that the floors or surrounding were not dirtied in any way.He cleaned the chimney, inspected it and pointed out the 2-3 minor items that need attention though not immediately. I was really happy with the quality of service.

He actually came early. He did a really good job of cleaning up. He was very quick. It did not take a long time.

We called and got information and prices over the phone and made an appointment. The workman was on time, did a great job, and explained everything. There was also a written report. I'm really sorry I can't remember the workman's name. He was very pleasant and easy to talk to, and we could ask any kind of question and he gave clear and detailed answers.

He was prompt, professional, thorough, and respectful. He removed his shoes and put on covers without our asking, and before he entered the house. He completed his inspection, then spent quality time talking to us about our house, how our fireplace works, and what we can do to make it safe. I was VERY impressed with how the entire service was handled from the moment I called.

Excellent service. About an hour before the service was to be done, the worker gave me a call and asked if he could come early as he was running a bit ahead of schedule. I can't remember the last time someone called to say they would be early! The worker was very clean and sealed off everything before beginning and cleaned up afterwards. He noticed some cracks on our chimney top and gave me an option of having him fix them and what it would cost me. He showed pictures of it on his digital camera so that I knew he wasn't just making something up. We had him do that work too. He suggested one other thing, but said it would be an easy job for me to do (caulking) and didn't try any hard sale on doing either. He showed me where it needed to be done and I decided to do that myself. He did some quick cement repair inside where an old gas control used to be and didn't charge us for it. Fantastic service.

We called to schedule a chimney inspection and cleaning. The woman on the phone was very friendly and gave us an exact quote. She also called the day before our scheduled appointment to remind us. The representative from the company, Josh, arrived about 10 minutes late, but was also friendly and thorough. The inspection and cleaning took approximately 45 minutes. I would recommend this company for their good work, clarity, and friendliness.

He showed up on time, scheduling was no problem, cleanliness was no problem. However, when he finished the job, he told us that we needed to do $4000.00 worth of repair and upgrades in order to safely use our fireplace. He stated that we needed an insert, a larger cap and needed a new damper. He wanted to sell all of this to us. We were suspicious of his evaluation since we have kept up the fireplace. I called a Santa Clara County Fireman who has done cleaning for over 20 years for a second opinion. At no cost to us, he came and looked at the fireplace. He said that it was cleaned pretty well (just missed a few spots) but that all of the repairs and upgrades were not necessary. He said we didn't need any of it and we could start using the fireplace immediately. I trust a fireman much more than a service provider who wants to sell us equipment. So, for cleaning, he is OK, customer service is OK, but I wouldn't buy anything from him.

So great my parents called the week after to have theirs done too! The inspection found some issues with the way the other work on the fireplace had been done (we were resurfacing the hearth and adding a mantel). They gave me the information I needed to go back to the guys doing the fireplace and have them correct the work before it was too late. Saved me potential issues in the long run! I've put Chimney Clean in my address book for all future work - I can't imagine being happier with anyone else. The guy also asked when I had last had my dryer vent cleaned, and convinced me to have that cleaned out for an additional fee. What a difference - my laundry dries in the time it takes for a load to be washed - much faster than before. Maybe that's why the thermostat on my old dryer kept getting fried.
