They did fine. They performed the work in a timely manner. They came back to repair some upholstering that had come loose. They have a lifetime guarantee on the work.

They did a nice job but I thought their price was a little bit high.

We interviewed 3 upholstry companies and chose Buzz based on his years of experience and customer reviews. We also visited the shops to look at work-in-progress. Pros: He is very professional--he returns calls promptly, has a nice website, and also takes time to explain the process. When the chair and ottoman were done, he called and was really excited about how well it came out. I like when someone is proud of their work. His price wasn't the lowest, but it was competitive. Cons: We felt like we needed to follow up and/or remind him of several details. 1) We had to special order leather and asked him to call us when it arrives so we could check it. After about 2 weeks, we called to ask if had arrived and he said it had, and his guys were already half done with the chair. 2) He quoted us one price, and offered us a $100 discount, and since we were using our old cushion he said he'd take an additional $75 off. Fortunately, we wrote all the figures down. However, when he gave us the final invoice, his figures didn't match ours. 3) There were lots of nicks and scratches on the legs from normal wear and tear. We talked at length about how he could touch them up. However, when he delived the furniture, the legs looked exactly the same--same dings and scratches, which really stand out now that the upholstery looks so nice. 4) Lastly, we were disappointed that he couldn't give us information about leather care, considering he reupholsters leather furniture so often. He gave us the name of a friend who recommends a product. It wasn't what we were hoping the hear.

As with all the other work he has done for me over the years, the pieces were wonderful. Exquisitely done. But I expected that and he didn't let me down. He is not the least expensive in town, but you can count on his work. You won't regret working with Pt. Loma Upholstery.
