Coastal Tree Care

It was great. They responded to our call very promptly. They scheduled a time that was convenient, and showed up when they said they were going to. After removing the tree, there was hardly any remnants of the tree left they did such a good clean up job.

The Big Deal was a bit deceptive, because it didn't disclose a minimum service charge. Joseph did agree to come down in price some, but sent two apparently inexperienced employees to do the work. Some of the blame was my own, for not communicating clearly enough what I had in mind, but they did the minimum amount of trimming and the result was not terribly good-looking.

It was just a simple tree removal and they were quick and efficient. They did what I asked and they have a good price.

Joseph was very friendly, responsive and helpful. We had two trees removed from our backyard whos roots were threatening our pipes and foundation. Joseph reached out to us after we purchased the angies list deal and worked around our schedule to come out and give us an estimate. After we decided to remove the trees he was worked with us to find a price that was within our budget. On the day of the removal my wife was blown away that they were able two romove both trees in a little over an hour. When they were done we wanted to pay with credit card but their reader was not working so Joseph gladly came back the next week when it was working. He also gave us some great suggestions of trees that would be good to replace the onces we removed. Overall it was a great experience and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I recently moved into a condo that has a decent size backyard but was completely crowded by 7 large Ficus trees with roots showing above ground. These trees have invasive root systems, but also provided shade and privacy, and I was debating removal (as recommended by the home inspector) or trimming. I saw the coupon for Coastal Tree Service and decided to see what could be done. Joseph promptly called me to discuss the services I was interested in. I explained the situation and wanted to know what my options were. Joseph promptly came out to assess the yard and trees and provided several options from trimming dead/dying branches, to crown and canopy thinning, or removal, and explained what type of future maintenance would be involved. I decided to have the trees removed (including stump grinding) to prevent future issues with potentially invasive roots and scheduled an appointment. Joseph was able to schedule the tree removal within a week during a time that worked with my busy schedule. He and his crew showed up on time and got right to work. They were friendly, fast, and efficient, and completed the job in a shorter than anticipated time. They did fantastic work and a great clean up job, too. I live in a condo association with an HOA and Joseph was kind enough to review the list of 'approved plants/trees' outlined by the association to make recommendations from the list for trees that would suit a small yard, but still provide shade, beauty, and privacy. I would highly recommend Joseph and Coastal Tree Care.

was was not wasting my money. The final understanding was for the trimming of fronds on a tall palm tree and cutting back an overhanging good-sized branch of a pine tree. He and his crew performed that job on an agreed schedule a few days later. The palm tree job was better than expected compared to similar work performed the previous year by a drive-by offer that I accepted. The overhanging branch was taken care of in a way that it was not obvious that it had existed. Clean up was also beyond reproach. In summary I could not have been more satisfied with the work done.

It didn't start off very well. First, his missed his initial appointment we had scheduled. Later he contacted me by phone and told me had peeked over my fence to the rear and we discussed pruning the large tree in the back (I admit that I mistakenly named the type of tree, but was very clear about the tree in the back yard), and removing the tree stump in the front yard. When he eventually showed up (with very short notice), he requoted prices for both tasks higher than what was quoted over the phone. He claimed the price for the tree was for the small tree in the front, and that the cost for pruning the large tree was $150 more. Also the tree stump removal would cost $50 more than quoted over the phone. I let him have the price for pruning the large tree mainly because I had misnamed the type of tree, but I had to argue with him over the price of the stump removal until he relented. Overall, he did a good job of pruning the tree and removing the stump, but the experience of having him changing the prices he had quoted me on the phone left me very dissappointed about this business. I guess I should have gotten a quote in writing...3

Worker and Joseph arrived early on the scheduled day, went right to work and had finished entire project in 3 1/2 hours. The entire area was swept and left neat in appearance. As for the tree, it's hard to believe the difference in before and after. Before Joseph saw the tree, I feared the entire tree would have to be taken out. I am extremely pleased with the work performed by Joseph's worker and Joseph himself. Not a wasted moment! And the price was more than reasonable. I'll recommend Coastal Tree Care to all my friends and neighbors.

Joseph and his crew arrived and got right to the job of topping the melalucas and removing the schefflera. The guys were efficient and professional. The trimmed melalucas looked really good afterwards. The crew did a great job on the clean-up, leaving the yard tidy after all the trimming and grinding. I am very happy with the results and plan to call upon Coastal Tree Care in the future.

Three people all arrived about 10 minutes early on the day that the work was to be done. The owner, Joseph Eves, had me show him, again, exactly what I would like to be done. Since I am disabled I needed to show him, mostly from inside my home, the things that were needed. While the work was being done I also had a lady that I had employed to help to prepare my meals, go outside to try to assist Mr. Eves in understanding what needed to be cut. The work went very smoothly - and I would say, very professionally - in all respects. A little extra trimming was needed after most of the work had already been completed, which Mr. Eves did personally, without complaint. After all the work was finished every single thing was cleaned up extremely well, leaving almost no trace that the tree trimming had been done. That was special, since other people in the past have left a mess. Overall, I would say that everything was done with superb professionalism. I would definitely recommend Coastal Tree Care to anyone looking for someone who will do a good job and clean up afterwards. I had originally wanted to have the ash tree trimmed down about 20 feet so that there would be more sun on my solar panels during the morning hours; however, Mr. Eves said that doing this could arm the tree to the point that later it would not survive, so I decided, along with him, to simply thin it out. He said that later, in the future, he could trim it down a little at a time if I want to do it then.

I called regarding the coupon to see if it would cover my needs. They quoted me on the cost based on a drive-by. They were on time and were very professional. They even hauled the stuff out to the alley that needed to be put through the chipper so I could lock up the property and go to work. I was very impressed.

I was out this morning and when I returned home about noon, he and his crew of three were already working on the trees. He said he left a message on the machine this morning [he did] but was in the area for other jobs and had the time to do ours. Alls well that ends well. He and his crew did a thorough job of trimming, lacing and cleanup. They were on site for less than 2 hours. We are very satisfied with the quality of the work. The total stated cost for the work was $300 [$200 for the special plus the additional $100]. This was a little on the high side but since we only paid $199 [$99 coupon plus $100], we felt we got a fair deal. If, without the Angie's list special, we had received a bid of $300, we would have sought other bids.

They did several things on their own. They really went above and beyond. They ripped and chipped a dead Plump tree without us asking. They took all the dead limps and put them through the chipper even after we paid them. They also worked on our huge Melaleuca tree. They were honest. They were communicative every step of the way. Joseph approached us about the price and scheduling the appointment. There was no pressure. The price was fantastic. We could not have been happier. They were respectful and on time. We would recommend their services with no hesitation.

Joseph did an amazing job pruning my trees. The trees look great after a much needed trimming. I have a black pine tree over my mail box and the mail box had become a home to the spiders that lived in the tree. Now the tree looks wonderful and the spiders are pretty much gone...
