Coastal Tree Care

They were very good. I actually wasn't around, I just let them do their job and I came in and out. They cleaned up after themselves really good. You wouldn't know they were here after they were gone. I was very happy with them.

They were late because of traffic the first day. After apologies they set to work in a professional manner. They were well equipped for the job. They knew how to use their tools. Estimater had provided a list for them to use, but they went around with us again to be sure they understood. We are pleased with the results.

Showed up on time ready to work. They had to protect our front lawn which is a new artificial turf just put in. That took a little longer than planned but was well worth it as no damage at all to the turf. Worked hard, had to use a small stump grinder due to access to our back did not allow for a larger one. All in all a great experience. Would use them again without hesitation.

I decided to go with them for the service because I needed the service, shopped around, and consulted Angie’s List. The quality of the service and professionalism is excellent all around. What stood out is that they were just very straightforward in terms of what could be done and demonstrated an expertise and understanding of what I was looking for.

It was an excellent experience. I sent a message requesting an onsite estimate. It was scheduled for the next day. I explained that Although the three trees were long overdue for pruning, I wanted the trees to provide shade and privacy. The estimate was roughly $200 per tree and scheduled within a week. The crew of three arrived and completed within 2 hours. They left the trees trimmed and laced to my wishes and cleaned up all the trimming. Very pleasant and professional. I would use them again and recommend them. They really know what they are doing!

They did a great job and we would consider using them again. They trimmed about 6 trees and the quality was very nice! Scheduling was slightly difficult, but it worked out in the end. I never got a specific arrival window from them so they showed up at an inopportune time. But again, the end result was good.

Joseph (and crew) did an amazing job. We actually never met in person but Joseph went to the house for an estimate and called to explain everything he found (living in high fire zone there were a lot of trees that needed work). The price was a bit higher but with the previous reviews and the time he took to explain and provide options made it worthwhile. We were even out of town when he preformed the work! Coming home to see our new yard and how beautiful and clean it looked was priceless. They removed a Ficus tree, cut down 17 eucalyptus trees, removed bushes, and other moss producing stumps all in 3 days. This crew is amazing and I highly recommend Coastal Tree Care. We will be adding a tree (where the Ficus was removed) and will be using them in the future.

The team of two arrived on time and reviewed what I wanted done. They went to work immediately and worked steadily until they finished. They were very responsive to my questions and adjusted their trimming according to my concerns. They were friendly and professional. No complaints at all.

The experience was great! They cleaned up everything! They were really nice! They did a good job! They were flexible as well.

I was very pleased with Coastal Tree Care and would highly recommend. We had a large acacia tree blocking our view and pushing up against our deck. Joseph returned my call within 24 hours. He came to give a free estimate within the week. I felt that he was very upfront with me. The tree was in a very ackward position and it was large. He quoted me $625 but said it was unusually expensive due to the size and location. (My gardener had been battling this tree for a decade!) He didn't pressure me at all to commit and gave me a written estimate. All was good. However, I became concerned when he emailed me to change the time of our appointment from morning to afternoon. I was further concerned when he said the crew would be there by 1pm and at 1:45 I was becoming very irritated. Then the guys showed up. They looked at the size of the tree, the location, and told me their truck was full from the morning work. I was getting pretty angry but resigned. The main guy said he would call Joseph. And just when I was ready to start a complaint, they smiled and said it would be no problem. They got to work and it was excellent! A very hard working crew working under difficult conditions! They were polite and professional and had the tree removed by 5. They cleaned up all the debris. At the end the crew leader asked me for a check for $625 (no surprises!) and I was happy that the check was cashed within 48 hours. My neighbors all came to inspect the work and agreed that it was a good job and done very professionally. Despite the challenges of this tree and whatwever they had going on with other work projects, they completed this job very well and with professionalism and integrity.

It went great. The four-man crew stayed all day and, except for a few well-spaced breaks, they worked hard the entire time. I was pleased with the results.

Needed trees trimmed in backyard for upcoming fire season, but wanted to retain a "privacy screen" between our house and the one next door. They did exactly what I requested and laced my ficus so that it was thinned out but kept foliage between us and the neighbors! The two queen palms were cut back so well that they shouldn't have to be cut again for a year. All in all, very satifsfied with work and clean-up.

Did not explain that trimming, (skinning), the previously trimmed branch stubs was not part of the service. Just wanted to cut branches.

Joseph's crew were to arrive early afternoon, they arrived right at noon. They, as Joseph, were friendly and professional. They removed the tree and shoot, and ground stumps. They were quick and quiet. I will use them again.

It was little sloppy. They did it in two pieces. They came to dug out the tree. Another guy came with a tractor, which was a subcontractor. They left a lot of dirt at front door. They had to come to clean it up. They got out the tree which was the main goal. They send pieces of their crew to different jobs.

We would definitely use them again.

They did an excellent job. We met with Joseph Eves, who is a certified arborist, he is very knowledgeable about plants and trees. We asked questions and he provided us with informed answers. We scheduled his crew for the 17th of July. They were here on time, did a full days work and the cleanup was exceptional. We provided little supervision.....they were kind and polite. Joseph came near the end of the project and checked on his crew. All in all, we give them an A+!

They showed up and although we had discussed and agreed on the work, Joseph did not do all the work. On the last tree they broke a riser and just left it there. with a bad knee I could not fix it and had to wait for my regular worker on the following Saturday to fix it. Too expensive for what they did. If I knew I wouldn't use them. Angie's list advertises for these people and they all make their money and the homeowner pays them all. I wish Angie's list did what they say they do. They must check these people first.

They showed up right on time and were very polite and considerate. They went to work and the way they worked demonstrated skills and care. The biggest concern we had was about taking down a very tall Aleppo Pine, and they did it without a hint of a risk to the house (or themselves). They ground the stump, pruned the other trees, cleaned up everything and left our property looking so much better.

Joe came out and was very professional and detail oriented. He took down the details on an iPad and forwarded me an estimate promptly. The job was for removing a tree and a palm, grinding the stumps down, removing juniper and ficus hedges and grinding down those stumps and grinding two stumps of trees that I had already cut down. The only reason I didn't select Coastal was their price was the highest of the three bids I received by about $300. I was happy with their professionalism and knowledge of the trees and plants I asked them to work on.

Adam & his assistant arrived on time and worked quietly & efficiently. They were careful not to damage any landscaping & cleaned up all debris. I am very pleased with the results of their work.

The initial contact went well, with a message on the online message center the next day asking for the address and contact number. After responding, I didn't hear anything for 8 days. An arborist came out to give me an estimate. He told me what parts of the trees he'd trim and which he would have thinned. He didn't know the names of the trees I had in the back yard, unlike one of the other tree company arborists. The estimate was inline with other estimates that I'd received for the same work. So, either their normal estimates are very high, or they inflated the estimate to make up for the Big Deal Discount. Based on their reviews, I decided to accept their bid and we agreed on a date to trim the trees. They arrived on time and set to work after we review what needed to be removed and what needed trimming. The trimming went quickly and was cleaned up well. I only found a few stray twigs about, but I had to look hard for them. The quality of work was mixed, the trees in the front yard were trimmed nicely. Unfortunately the back yard trees were not trimmed as nicely and many of the cuts were exposed and looked awkward. These trees will recover fast, but next time I'll use another company.
