They were really a wonderful company to work with and delivered exactly what they said they would. They were very clean, they took care of my house and took time to make sure they were careful with my floors.

I reached out to ASI Hastings Heating & Air Conditioning Inc to do an energy audit for me last summer. The team at ASI Hastings Heating & Air Conditioning Inc inspects the furnace and all other aspects of HVAC. The team at ASI Hastings Heating & Air Conditioning Inc really provided a good value and I had a good experience with them.

The next day an estimator came out and looked at the furnace and gave me several quotes for various types and brands. The Lennox 2 stage furnace 80% efficient was $1,200 more than the quote from another company for a Trane 2 stage that I ended up buying from the second company. Also the Trane furnace from all I researched is a better product for a lot less money.

I had a technician,Toney, come out. After a preliminary call for directions, as my location is not on most maps, he arrived on time. We got to work promptly found an igniter gone bad. Replaced it and then found the gas meter for the furnace was also bad. It was strange that two things would go bad but I was convinced as the solenoid was showing a broken wire. Toney said the igniter should show 26 volts when it was to ignite and was surprised that indeed the VOM showed 26 volts. We had some problems with the fuel meter but these were just because we did not have exactly the same meter, a Rheem meter, to replace on my 16 year old furnace. The replacement part was a trusted supplier, Robert Shaw, and we had to modify a few things to get it fit in the furnace enclosure. Toney adjusted the gas pressure and triple checked the furnace, because I burn propane gas, to make sure it operated normally. I trusted having the company visit again for further work to bid for a solar install and perhaps a higher efficiency furnace. I am thankful that I found this company via Costco but also reaffirmed that Angies list also listed the company as good. Thank goodness for Angie's list for some consumer feed back.

tech did not use a potentiometer or any tools to diagnose the problem. he played with the startup mechanism a little and concluded the problem was an "ice-cube" relay that needed replacement. the problem was that part was not available and I'd have to replace my furnace. In addition, there were several features that were not up to current code, and I had some rust in the interior from a possible water overflow or backup from the A/C, and a couple of other things - he kind of just kept coming up with things to convince me we needed a new furnace. I watched him inspect the duct with an optical fiber and did not see any rust, just dirt. I did not buy into any of it. I had another company come out a few days later and they fixed the problem (a completely different part) in less than 20 minutes. I won't be using them in the future.

waited ....they for a 8-10am call. they called, i called back and told them i was waiting in the house. did not show up and when i checked at 10:30 - it looks like they messed up in their dispatch communications. basically pretty unprofesional and not punctual.

They charged us huge amount just for the call. The guy who came was polite but said we needed a new unit for $6000. He said our unit could not be fixed. I called a friend in industry, he referred me to small business who came out and fixed unit for a little less than $400, and it’s been working great ever since. ASI tried to see me a product I didn’t need. They basically lied to me.

ASI was able to respond to my issue quickly. They resolved the issue with a few new parts, and got everything up and running within a few hours. Overall, I was happy with their service.

We did not in the beginning take the installer's recommendation as to where to place the unit. My husband wanted it in its original place, which they did. It became apparent when the ducts were to be hooked up that it would not work there. We paid $4800 more to place it where they suggested. That was our error; my husband really didn't understand how big and space filling those ducts would be. If placed in the original area, it would make it impossible to get through the door to the storage area. If the installers recommend where to put it, do what they say, as they are ones with the experience. I was disappointed in the routing of the duct work under the house. There were some pre-exhisting wires that they knocked down, and they threaded the ducts around the wires rather than either all under or all over the wires. I didn't see this until several days after the job was completed. The workmen were delightful to have around -- very positive and polite. I have already recommended ASI Hastings to a friend who needs their service.

We had called another well-known company who claimed all 3 furnaces were unsafe and wanted to repace all three for $18,000! ASI assure us they were safe although they recommended wedo a check every year as the furnaces are 10 years old. The technician was very knowledgeable and thorough

We had been considering replacing our 16 year old air conditoner and heater that had been causing high SDG&E bills in both winter and summer. We ran into an air conditioning specialist at Costco and scheduled time for an estimate. ASI came and assessed our situation, made suggestions and took a couple of mine under consideration. We agreed on the work to be done and a price which was a little under what I thought it would be. They arrived when they said they would and completed the work on time. They replaced and sealed all our ducting, replaced the furnace and air conditioner and did all the necessary repairs and modifications. They were very polite, efficient and friendly. They kept everything clean by putting down drop cloths and wearing covers on their shoes. We waited until we got our next bill to see if there was improvement and there was. I would use them again and recommend their company to anyone needing this kind of service.

I am satisfied with them. They are prompt coming out when I call. They do a good job doing the service. My air conditioning and heating have worked perfectly well. The prices are fair.

They were very professional. Their prices are a little high. The quality of their work is very good. I would use their services in the future also.

They advertise as the "white gloves guys". We really like them; they are very good. They are really excellent. They were really efficient, polite and well mannered. Their price was competitive and lower than some of the others that we called. We will use nobody but them.

The work was fine; the work I paid for through Angie's list was not done or applied to the payment. I wom't use Angie's list in the future.

They were very good so we had them do some work for us and we were very happy with what they did. We have no complaints at all and we recommend them. They put down drop cloths everywhere so that they wouldn’t track in dirt.

They were great. They did everything that they said they would do. The contract said one thing but the workers who came out were missing some of the elements. They did not say that they would come out later or that they have to talk to their supervisor but just fixed it on the spot. They are probably the most responsive contractor we have ever worked with. It was great and we got our money's worth. I would tell people that they are great and do top quality work. They are expensive, but if you can afford it, then it is worth every penny.

The ASI repair guy gave me a set of their white gloves, which I thought was gimmicy. Then he proceeded to take a look at my central airconditioning unit. After that, he took a look at my furnace. Both were malfunctioning. He was a little smarmy in his interaction with me, a little too much of the salesman vs the knowledgeable repairman. He handed me an estimate for the airconditioner of $589 and for the furnace $3500 (total replacement). Then he charged me $65 for the estimates. I asked if the $65 would be credited toward the repair cost for the airconditioner and he said he thought so if I had it repaired within a day or two. So I asked him if there was really a timeframe associated with crediting the cost of the estimate and he actually said, " I don't know". I felt he was "pushing the sale". Later, I noticed on my airconditioning unit a sticker with the name and telephone number of the company that installed it. I called them (its only 4 years old). Their repairman came out, told me the unit was no longer under warranty but repair would be quick and easy and affordable. Then, he took a look at my furnace and said it was just dirty and needed cleaning. So, he cleaned it and fixed a few things here and there. Now, the airconditioner works like a charm and the furnace does too. TOTAL COST: $268.00. The ASI company is just a total rip off. Angie's List really needs to investigate this company a little. They're highly rated but look what happened to me!

It went very well. The estimator and the installers were very professional and friendly. They protected my floors and were respectful of my space. The estimator seemed to have good advice about what units would work best for our space, and did not over-sell the size of equipment needed. When the work was complete, the installer had some helpful advice about how to take advantage of the features of the new system. As far as I can tell the installation went well. We are enjoying our new air conditioner.

I smelled the smoke of an electrical fire today in my house and after the firefighters and SDGE came out it was determined that something was up with my HVAC unit and i was told i should not use it (they unplugged it) and call for service with a HVA specialist. (And its the first day of summer!) So, of course, i went right to Angie's List. Based on the good reviews i saw here i called ASI, and explained my situation, I told her i needed someone out here today. She put me on hold, and came back to tell me they would be able to service my unit today and recommended a service call for $67 which would apply to an repair rather than the $87 maintenance deal they were running since it was inevitable i was in need of an HVAC repair. They offered me a time window between 2-5 pm and said i would receive a call when they were on their way. At 5 pm i called to see why nobody had come - or called - and got a message that the office was closed. So, I called the answering service 2 times over the past hour and a half; and was told someone would call me back with a response. It is now 6:30 and i have heard from nobody and still no one has showed up to do the repair. What a waste of my time. I have been sitting at home for 5 hours waiting for them to show up, unable to do anything else with my day today, and now its evening and my AC is still hazardous to turn on and a threat to my home. Plus we had a showing today, with a realtor, scheduled at 5 pm to sell our house. ( My house is on the market) If they had been here on time i would not have had to explain to these prospective buyers why all the windows were open on a summer day and the AC was not working. NICE. :( Stay away from ASI, is my recommendation.

Bruner was very nice. (He has been here before.) The folks at ASI are very careful to keep everything clean (their gimmick is white gloves). He spent the time to answer my questions. I am thinking about an air scrubber system, but it is too much for my budget right now.

Searched on angies list on Monday, purchased the "big deal" for inspection for $87 Received immediate confirmation and instructions to call contact at ASI to arrange appointment. ASI answered immediately and setup appointment for next day (3hr window for appointment). Technician arrived roughly 1hr into the appointment window and stayed for over an hour. He found issues above and was very professional, comprehensive, and easy to work with. He probably saved me $$ in addition by helping put together a framework for future work and avoiding some unnecessary projects. On the other hand: - it was clear that ASI expects its service engineers to (respectfully) sell as much as possible - I turned down offers for a new thermostat, estimate to upgrade a/c unit, prepay for future inspections, install anti-allergy add ons, and get a full home energy inspection - I was recommended to install a part that is advertised for $12-$20 on the internet, but which ASI prices at $180. The engineer acknowledged ASI may be marking up the part by 900% but noted he had absolutely no leeway to negotiate. In general, I found the ASI tech to definitely know what he was doing, be well worth the time for inspection/maintenance, and provide an extremely professional service, however this is definitely a case where one must zealously defend his/her wallet from unnecessary upgrades or price markups. That is kind of sad, because these guys really know what they are doing and in my experience a professional consultant (of any kind) should be marking up the cost of his time and otherwise avoiding huge markups on parts/materials. ASI seems to have the opposite approach, and this means I'll never know how much to believe what they recommend for me to buy.

I would highly recommend. They are great problem solvers when any problems arise. This is the second home they have worked on for me, and they are great.

They were prompt and polite. They were good. I enjoyed their work. They did god work. they explained and answered any questions I had. I would use them in the future.

Overall, the services we recieved were well worth the price! They have the professional ethics that I expect from a service company. Because they cared to do the best job, we know we have extended the life of our AC/Heating system. We will call ASI again the next time we need service.
