ASI diagnosed a failed transformer on my AC Unit. They replaced it. They charged $327 for the parts and labor total. The part can be found online from the manufacturer for $20. Labor was less than an hour. Nate, the service manager, took my complaint call and we negotiated down to $145 total, $125 for labor and $20 for the part. Nate stated that $327 is their standard parts and labor for replacing a transformer and they "do not know what their price is on parts". I suggested a good businessman would know the price. All in all the message is "buyer beware" but what is new about that? I guess I just want to get the best value for the best work and while their work is great, ASI did not (initially) provide value, but I had to discover that myself.

They were very professional, the entire process went extremely smoothly and we are very pleased with their service. I will sure use them again.

The replacement part was rather generic, no special bells or whistles like wifi or automatic learning. While I thought that their price was high, they were otherwise fine.

It went fine. The tech did say many times we should replace our furnace as it is old, but frankly that is not in our budget, and as long as it works, we'll keep the old one. It didn't bother me, but it did feel a bit like he wanted to sell a furnace. Other than that, they're great. We've had them out before and will again in the future.

It went fine. There were no problems. They took care of cleaning it up and they offered putting on a transformer to isolate any electrical problems. They were prompt, on time and cleanly.

I had used ASI before but I called two other companies so I would have three bids. They were schudled after I had the free SDG& E Inspection. The first one didn't show, the numer 2 told me I needed two new furnaces . And ASI said I needed one replacement, which is what the City inspector had said. ASI's price for the same heater and instillation was $175 less than the other bid. ASI arrived on time, removed the old furnace, installed the new one, and cleaned up. Oh, and estimator #2 came to the house with his "supervisor". That means "try and sell em two heaters" may be policy. The new heater works fine, it's a little noisier than the old one but it heats the bedrooms faster.

The review went ok. ASI arrived on time and did a review on heater. He noted that I have a hydronic heater and that was it. Nothing more was done.

They told me my gas furnace was condemned so they were unable to perform the service. They replaced my furnace and heat pump. They were very professional. They actually did the work on New Year’s Eve. They did a clean installation and the furnace works well. They also followed up with me after the installation. They took care of getting all the permits which was included in the cost. The two organizations who came to inspect their work found no problems.

Scheduling was done in a timely manner. The service was fine.

Originally they sent out the wrong technician for the audit. I had to follow up with them because they didn’t call me to reschedule the appointment with the correct technician. The service wasn’t quite what I expected. I think he was thorough with the inspection but I was hoping to get more ideas of how to make the house more efficient. I didn’t realize that the inspection was a more of a segway to selling their products.

The technician arrived as= scheduled and tested out the furnace and cleaned the interior. Changed the dirty filter and verified that the heater was functioning properly and the flames looked correct and no carbon monoxide issues. Thorough, clean work.

They did well. They had a checklist and went through all of their findings with me.

Employee of ASI was on time. Was professional and polite. Explain some issues of the interior walls of the furnice and possible future problems. Would use ASI again.

It was a good experience. He was friendly and solved the problem. It was a bigger problem than originally thought. He was personable and on time.

The service turned out just fine. They were very professional and on time. The whole process was very smooth. They were a first class outfit.

I never had a checkup, my furnace is approx. 8 yrs old. Brad J was professional, knowledgeable & answered my questions. When he went to my attic to I watched him inspect the ducts & he found a broken one that someone broke & repaired it incorrectly & within time it broke open again. The last time anyone was up there was 7 yrs. ago, either the termite guy or roof guy did this & did not tell us. The ducts are approx 19 yrs old. So Brad repaired it & no wonder my A/C & furnace never seemed to be efficient. What I have learned from this point on is I or my husband will be following the work people while they do their jobs. We have been ripped off or given poor service by so many companies that hire people that don't care if they do the job correctly. THIS IS WHY WE JOINED ANGIE'S LIST SO the companies will be held accountable for their workers. Now when I hire a business for services they know i belong to Angie's List & will write a review. I am going to ask for Brad again in spring to do my A/C checkup.

Very professional throughout the process.

The tech arrived promptly and was courteous. The first issue was that he was not informed that I had bought service for two units and he had to check back with the office to see if that was true. That itself took some time since he didn't believe that I could have two services through the Angie's List service offer. After trying to resolve the issue, he started working on the units in the attic. About 20 minutes later, I noticed a burning smell coming from the attic and he comes down to tell me that a capacitor is bad and it will cost over $300.00 to replace, also the blower fan was now dead. Since I had home insurance I told him that I would get the problem fixed through the insurance. I was not going to pay for a repair for damage that he may have caused. As a result of the fan not working, now the unit couldn't be serviced. To top it all he had me sign a piece of paper saying that the unit was not 'to code' and there was condensation damage. And the units were installed by.................ASI Hastings! They would not take responsibility for their own faulty installation!!!

We had called our usual company that we use for routine HVAC issues. They surveyed the job and after my husband had two or three conversations with them, they couldn't figure out how to make it happen. They eventually stopped returning my husband's calls. ASI found the job to be no problem, and did the work just perfectly. They will now be our go-to company.

They were excellent. The price was reasonable. They were extremely friendly, extremely clean and they were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. They were able to explain everything about what they did and why they did it and they gave me an estimate and they weren't pushy about it.

They worked quickly and efficiently with no trouble to my renters or to myself. Communication was excellent. Everything works perfectly and looks great. ASI secured a permit from the City and it passed the inspection with no problems. This was a hassle free experience and it was a pleasure to deal with a company who were polite, kind, knowledgable, understanding and work closely together.

I have a dual zone system in my house so I had to pay for both units. They serviced both units and inspected to insure they were running properly and they changed both air filters as well. Their rep was friendly and informative. Overall I was very satisfied.

ASI Hastings installed my air conditioner in January 2009 and it stopped working (switched turned it off shortly after it turned itself on based on my temperature setting) in May 2013. I don?t know when or how it cracked because it was inside the HVAC unit in my attic which I never go into, however, when I spoke with Nate, the Customer Service Manager, he was very understanding and calming about my situation. He had Marty and Thomas from ASI come out to assess the cause of the unit turning itself off, and in a follow-up appointment, they replaced the pan, plug and coil at no cost! They were knowledgeable, experienced, quick, and conscientious about keeping my house clean as they went in/out and I sincerely appreciate that level of customer service and expertise! I?m extremely grateful for Nate?s expertise and understanding of my situation and that ASI ?made it right? for their customer! Thank you ASI!

Scheduling was fairly easy and they were able to accommodate us. They did the tune up and found some issues. They tried to oversell us on the parts so we went with someone else for the repairs.
