Justine Ford's involvement in the purchase of our first home was underwhelming and disappointing; to say the least. On one hand, I understand and appreciate that Justine's role as the seller's agent is to look out for the seller's best interests. That said, as the seller's agent, she has some basic responsibilities to the seller and buyer in facilitating a smooth transaction. On three different occasions, Justine disappointed us by failing to meet expectations, shocked our agent with her lack of professionalism, and added unnecessary stress to an otherwise smooth home purchase. The first disappointment occurred one week after our offer was accepted, during our home and pest inspections which we commissioned to ascertain and verify the physical condition of the home. Our agent notified Justine of the date and time of our scheduled home inspections and asked her to make sure that the home and garage were cleared out so that a full home and pest inspection could be completed. Justine assured our agent that only the garage would have a few small belongings remaining and should not interfere with the inspections. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that the home was still staged, and that the garage was still filled with the seller's belongings ? including an old car, mattresses, sofas and more, none of which I would categorize as small. As we feared, our home and pest inspectors could not complete the inspection that day due to the belongings blocking parts of the garage. Both my wife and I had to make arrangements to be present for those inspections during business hours. Due to scheduling issues, we couldn't be present at the follow-up inspection. We also were now forced to scramble in order to complete the inspections and get a contractor to estimate the costs of the repairs in the remaining week before our contingency period ended. This added unnecessary stress. It's also infuriating because she either lied, didn't know, or didn't verify the removal of the belongings as she had promised?? any of which is a poor reflection on her performance. Our second disappointment came just days before closing. Two days before closing, we were scheduled to have a final walkthrough of the home to verify that the condition of the home hadn't changed and that items that were requested or required to be completed had been. On the day of the final walkthrough, my wife, 11 month old daughter, and my in laws all drove over to complete this important step in the purchase of our home. Too bad for all of us, Justine had removed the key from the premises. When our agent called Justine, she confirmed that the keys weren't at the home and that she was about to sit down for dinner (who does that at 5pm on a Sunday?) and assured us that she would not meet us so that we could complete our final walkthrough. I couldn't believe Justine's complete disregard for our time. She didn't even have the courtesy to apologize for her oversight. It was astonishing to me that Justine could be so inconvenienced as to do her job and help complete this purchase. Our final disappointment arrived today. My wife and I arrived at our new home and was greeted by our agent with our keys. Unfortunately, it wasn't all the keys ??for example we can't open our mailbox, side door to the garage, or the door from the garage into the house because all those keys were missing. We also weren't given any manuals or documentation for any of the appliances, sprinkler system, or other items in the home that may require configuration. No explanation. No nothing. To top it off, as we explored our new home, we looked into the garage and still found a dozen of the seller's personal belongings lining the shelves. My wife and I can't believe how disrespectful and unprofessional Justine was throughout this whole process. In our opinion, she didn't do anything to deserve a single cent of commission for her involvement in this purchase. A promotional video she features on her site says that she "is someone who dedicates herself to doing whatever is necessary to help you. When someone truly cares this much, getting involved, taking action, and exuding passion are second nature." What a bunch of hogwash. Buyers beware.
