Description of Work: First repairman installed several parts; two at the condensor, one at the furnace/fan-coil plus a new thermostat. When we complained the problem still existed, a second guy came out found that our water leak was from the condensate line that had been improperly installed years ago but, also that we may need a new fan-coil unit since it looked like it was leaking. Problem is, he said that we'd need to replace the entire system. Replacing just the fan-coil would (or could) throw the whole system off. He recom- mended going ahead with an entire replacement...which we did. The new "Trane" system works great and we're very happy with it even though it cost us an arm and a leg.

Description of Work: Paid for $55 from angi's list, get another unexpected charge for $ 35. technician very pushy toward serviced the service and very unprofessional don't give a chance to discussed with family about the cost. Just to find the problem, asked for $ 389.00.

Description of Work: Magnolia H/C were very nice over the phone they understood my problem and when Brian came out he fixed the Air conditioner that had broken. The also checked out the other AC to make sure it was working. He then came in checked the air intake, changed the filter, then checked out the furnaces. He explained the problem and suggested that the cooling units needed cleaned. Since the cleaning was within my budget I told him to go ahead. Every thing was done and he made use I understood the whole service and that everything was cleaned up when he left. My son said that we will use them again for all our H/C work.

Description of Work: The Angie's List offer was for a A/C system tuneup and inspection. But it doesn't apply if the system is not working. I knew the system had problems, and asked him what service he recommended. His reply: 1) clean the coils on the outdoor compressor unit 2) perform a leak check 3) fix the leak 4) refill the refrigerant 5) verify functionality. Before proceeding, the technician explained exactly what the cost would be, then asked me to approve the cost and repair using an app on his iPhone. For the first time in years, the a/c works. Here's what impressed me over the shyster A/C guy that came to my house last year and left the system broken after charging $450. David, the technician knew his A/C repair, had digital pressure gauges and a refrigerant gas sniffer to detect leaks (and used it to show me where the leak was - on the line caps), explained what he was doing, explained the list of FAILs the shyster that came out last year committed (confirming what I suspected: its hard to find honest A/C repairmen), weighed the amount of refrigerant the system needed because of the cap leak (about 2 of the 8 lb supply had leaked out) and FIXED the leak. By the way, I (thought I) cleaned the outdoor unit fins - David told me "nope, that really isn't a foam filter over the cooling fins, that's a mat of sucked in dirt. Even if you didn't have a leak, your A/C wouldn't have been able to pump cool air. One final note: I keep my receipts from repairs on appliances - but carbon copied hand written scrawl is impossible to read after years go by - Magnolia Heating and Cooling emails an invoice detailing every step they did and what they charged for the step.

Description of Work: The technician came out and looked at one of my a/c units. |After careful inspection, and questions regarding what happened and when, Adam decided to look at the unit in the attic. |I had my ducts professionally cleaned and they knocked a wire loose. |Adam was able to spot the problem quickly and had it repaired just as fast. |Great job!
