I was insulted to be spoken to like this.

No date was ever set. After they asked for photos to be e mailed of the trees to be cut, which I immediately did, they didn't contact me. I contact them three times and was promised immediate contact. I need to get the trees cut as my HOA is not happy it hasn't been done yet.

I was to choose a couple of dates, which I did. I got a response that it would be on the 13th at 9am. I called on the 7th and asked how it worked. I went out and took pictures of the 2 trees I wanted removed and sent them to Megen at the office. She told me someone would get back to me. They didn't. Then on the 13th, no one showed up, or even called. I finally called them and today received an incredibly high estimate -- more than $1100 to remove 2 small trees -- my gardener did the last one for $100. At that point I was no longer interested and wanted my money back.

They responded to my initial e-mail very quickly. Everyone I dealt with from the workers to the man who gave the estimate was very polite, courteous, and helpful. I was very pleased with their work, and unlike some workers, they did a very good job cleaning up when they had finished. They even went up on the roof with the blower to remove any leaves and other debris that had fallen while they were trimming the sycamore. I had to do very little clean- up work myself when they left (it took me all of 2 minutes!) and my back yard looks so much better now that those trees are trimmed. I would gladly use this company again and highly recommend them.

The guys arrived right on time and were very courteous and friendly. They performed the service exactly as described in the original proposal. They cleaned up everything and were very professional. My wife said it was cleaner after they left than it was before they came! To top it off, thanks to an Angie's List deal from them we were very pleased with the price. I would definitely use their service again.

Boiled down to money, too expensive compared to others.

Upon purchasing the Big Deal with Steven's Tree Experts, Inc. I promptly called to make an appointment for an initial consultation on my "$400.00 tree work." 'Ray' answered the phone and I asked how much time needed for an initial consultation. Ray replied about half an hour.I then explained my purchase of a Big Deal from Angie's List. Ray seemed not to know about the deal but said that if I had a coupon then that amount would be applied to the total cost of tree work. I explained that I understood I had purchased $400. worth of tree work and how much tree work could be done for that amount; that the Deal said services can include "tree trimming, seasonal pruning, limb removal, ornamental pruning and stump grinding". etc. and that I had a tree that needed pruning. Ray again said that the $400. would not cover a total tree pruning but that amount would be deducted from the total charge. So I gave, as an example, my eucalyptus tree and Ray said the it depended on the height but would be in the $2,400. charge range!!! So I asked him about a smaller tree and Ray said again that they could not prune any tree for $400. Ray then seemed to lose interest, so I hung up. I understood, as described in your Big Deal that I was purchasing a complete tree service as described. It is impossible for me to accept a Deal without knowing the final charge. I do not wish to pursue work with this company and request an immediate refund. Thank you.

They arrived when they said they would and worked as a good team. Some trees were between our house and neighbors , some needed to be cut back due to solar panels. As they are old and part of our view of the valley out the windows, it was important to us that they were shaped nicely and safely from the houses. They did an excellent job of shaping vs. hacking. They cleaned up everything--hard to do in our native garden. I was surprised at how quietly they were able to work.

I purchased a $199.00 coupon (value at $400) for tree service from this company. They acknowledge the purchase via my email stating they couldn't retrieve my contact information from Angie?s List. I called them and the first thing they attempted to do was up sale the purchase. Therefore, I made an appointment for the suggested estimation. A nice gentleman showed up to give me an estimation on 2/4/14. He said they couldn?t prune the oak tree during this time of year. I told him that informed the receptionist that an oak tree was one of the trees that needed to be pruned. He said that he didn?t recommend pruning the oak tree this time of year. I called Angie?s List and cancelled the coupon purchase.

I waited one hour and forty five minutes. They were supposed to arrive by 11. I called at 11:30 and they confirmed it was between 11-12 but "everyone was running late today". They said they would call the person who was scheduled to come to the property and call me back. I said no need to call me back as long as they were here by noon. They called at 12:45 to cancel and reschedule.

Ray Sanchez, the arborist, came to house to give me an estimate the same day that I initiated the call to him. I accepted his proposal, and he was available the next day to do the job. His crew arrived early the next day to do the work. Eric, was the foreman, and managed his crew. He had new equipment, including a chipper, to do the work. They worked for most of the entire day. They cleaned up after themselves, and did a wonderful job. I would recommend them to anyone else needing tree trimming done. The trees were trimmed very professionally and I am very satisfied. The house is a two story structure, and leaves were trapped in the rain gutters on the second floor. The crew, using an extension ladder, cleaned the roof and rain gutter of debris with a blower. Again, I was very happy with their job.

Cleaned my small front yard, trimmed a huge tree and all bushes. wonderful job, Ray was amazing!

Ray Sanchez, who is an Arborist, came out and gave us the estimate. We got the Senior Citizen and Angie's List discounts. He arrived a few minutes early. He answered all my questions and I had many. He checked out each tree and told me what kind of shaping and trimming was suitable for that kind of tree. I valued his opinion because what he was telling me was making a lot of sense. His crew arrived at their scheduled time. They went right to work. They had all the work completed in about 4 1/2 hours. It was a very HOT day and that didn't slow them down. They did a beautiful clean up job. They even picked the oranges and put them in bags for us. The trees look great. I'm very happy with their work. I recommend them and I will use them again. Thank you Ray and thank you Eric and your crew!

We contacted Steven's Tree Experts to bid on removing some ivy from our front porch and cutting down the trunk. They were responsive and punctual in coming to bid on the project. Their bid was the same as another company's ($300). We ultimately went with the other company because they were available immediately, and we were on a tight schedule, but we would definitely contact Steven's Tree Experts again if we're in the market for tree services.

They were Fantastic! The crew arrived, when they said they would, they were very professional and did a Great job! Our trees look Wonderful!

They were are quite common in this area. They came out and gave us a reasonable estimate as I recall. And, they did a pretty decent job. They were professional, efficient and clean.

Everything went very well, from start to finish. Particularly helpful was the service representative, who was prompt, thoughtful, and efficient in arranging for the tree to be removed and for the fence to be repaired.

Since this was a small job, I had to wait a few weeks for a spot on their schedule. Once the workers got here, the crew of 4 worked to get the job done in a couple of hours. Clean, courteous, professional, well-done.

They did a great job chopping down and cleaning up a 100+ foot silver maple tree in my house.

They showed up on time, cleaned everything up, and charged exactly what they said they'd charge.

The office persons and the actual on-site workers were always very courteous and prompt. I like to support local businesses, which is why I picked them in the first place. They men who did the work always cleared up the debris afterward. As I recall they brought their own chipper, too. They made my palm trees look clean and no longer scruffy. The tree company is well known in the Pasadena, CA, area and their business has grown steadily over the years. While they are not aborists, they do know how to correctly thin out tree branches and how to cut back on large bushes (the camellias). I have recommended the company to friends in the past.

I agreed to pay $1500 to have a large oak tree trimmed along with 4 smaller trees. I discussed the work to be done with the arborist the week before the work was done. The oak tree was to be thinned out, smaller and dead branches removed and the skirt of the tree to be raised to about 10 ft off the ground. We had similiar discussions about how the remaining 4 trees were to be pruned. The arborist canceled our original appointment due to problems on another job site. We set another date and the crew arrived on time but the arborist did not show up. The crew butchered the oak, cutting off several large branches at the trunk of the tree thereby raising the skirt to around 20 ft in a few locations. This allowed full sun on my shade garden. The oak is now unbalanced and looks terrible. I suggest anyone who uses this service insist that the arborist arrive with the trimming crew and that instructions to the crew be clear and concise. Also the contract for the work should be detailed in writing. The safest approach would be to find a better tree service.

Very punctual and professional. Maybe not the prettiest job ever, but it was always intended as a means to cut trees back from our roof so as not to worry about it for several years, and we were less concerned about aesthetics. They did the job well.

Terrance, the crew and receptionist were EXCELLENT! Punctual, thorough, sweet, kind, hard-working, fast and clean. I am grateful for their beautiful work and help, and to Angie's List for helping me find them!
