The job was done very well, they were very concerned with any collateral damage. They advised me to put a tarp down for a while to protect property from sap until the trees healed up. Very informative, very cordial. We definitely think we would use them in the future. We were pleased with them being here and doing the work for us. I would definitely recommend them to anyone else.

We emailed them twice to get a quote and they never get back to us

I purchased this coupon for $199 for $400 worth of Tree services from Stevens Tree Service. Randy who represented Stevens Tree Service gave me a quote for Tree Service at our home. He was very courteous and great to work with. However, while arranging a date and time for the actual tree service to be done, we discovered the company's contractor license for Tree Service had expired in Nov 2013. They hadn't renewed it. In California, it is illegal to hire a contractor for more than $500 worth of work without a proper Contractor license. Randy offered to have the work with another company they owned, but that company had landscaping license not Tree Service license. Given this confusion, I would like to cancel this Deal and funds reimbursed. When Stevens Tree Service renews their D49 contractor license, I will be happy to consider them for any future work. Randy provided the estimate and oversaw the job. He was very professional, easy to work with and accomplished the job in what seemed record time: a little over 2 hours. He cleaned up and left the place looking neat and tidy. I was very happy I'd bought the coupon from Angie's List to help defray some of the expense.

The big branch had power and phone line under it and they cut it off without touching any of the power lines. they also cleaned up after themselves.

Great. Responsive. On time. Followed through. Gave advise on another infested pine tree. Very happy with the service we got. Will hire them again in the future.

After I bought my deal they called within a day to set up an appointment. The foreman came out to make a formal estimate and look at the trees. He gave me multiple prices for different options to keep the trees or take them out. He showed me though how the Cherry Tree was already too far gone and helped me decide to simply take it out. His crew was right on time the next day and took out both trees and left no debris or mess except for a little bit of sawdust that was neatly spread around the planter bed the trees were in. They left the area as if there were never two dying/dead trees there in the first place. They were timely and very professional. They deducted the price of my Angie's List deal off the total and everything worked out great!

They showed up on time. Listened to what we needed done and then trimmed the two trees that needed it. We were given a quote for the removal of a third large plant, but decided to not to move forward with it.

They did a good job and they were on time but I thought that I would get way more value there. When they came out, the guys seemed to have no idea that I had purchased the special so he gave me a regular quote that was like $1100 and I was dumbfounded, because I have a place in town do it for me and the guy is an arborist and depending on what I need done, it has never cost me more than $450 to $500. Their quote was extremely high. Then when I told him that I got the Angie's List deal, all he was willing to do was take the $499, which was the value and subtract if from his $1100 quote, which ended up putting it a little bit higher than what my people would have been, but I needed it done so I just went ahead and have them do it. But, I would just go back to my old people. The actual service they provided was an A. Everything was on time, everything was done, everything was left very clean. They were just expensive.

I bought a Big Deal knowing the work I wanted to do would be more. Terrance came to give me an estimate and is very knowledgable and professional, he also said that they would remove any dead trees/branches at no additional charge and plant replacement trees at no additional charge if they were there at the time of work. We even spoke about options for planting and he said he would look into it and inquire with the nursery. I was was thrilled until it took him almost 2 weeks to get me a proposal and when he did, it was only because he wanted to do the work the very next day (this was at 7:00 pm mind you) and no progress had been made on finding the replacement trees. I ok'ed the work and they did a nice job. There is no question about the quality of the work, expecially the removal of the palm tree (stump was ground out). Terrance was there to walk the job with me when I got home. When I enquired about the replacement trees he took notes and said he would get the office on it. As of today 2 weeks later, still no follow-up on the trees and I do not intend to be the person that has to keep chasing them to give them my business. Would I hire them again, I said yes, but in all honesty, maybe. Depending on what services I needed. Nice people, but as far as responsivness and follow-up, not so much.

The provider arrived on the day and time scheduled and did a great job removing trees and left no mess.

They came over and did a nice job. I had a big deal purchase with Steven's Tree Experts Inc but I had to pay an extra $100 because if I only would have done the avocado tree, he wouldn't charge me anymore, it was like I added more stuff to it but I think it was a little high, $300 is a little much. Actually, the avocado tree was the main one. I really needed that work and it was worth it for $200 but the orange tree, I didn't think it was a lot. It was just taking a few dead branches out of there. The apple tree was just to remove a few branches so that they don't hit the roof, it wasn't a lot of stuff and I though it was okay for $200 just for that added cost. I just thought it was a little steep because I had a tree removed once and he charged me $700 and that was a monster, that was a real monster. They were here a couple of days just to bring that thing up. It was a different company, they dug out the roof and everything and so I thought that it was kind of steep $300. Actually, most of the challenge was the avocado tree but they did a nice job. They do a nice job on the tree trimming and the guy who was an expert on it wasn't the one who did the work, he had guys come in to help him. The two guys were the ones who did the work and he was just watching them but they did do a nice trim job. They left it nice, they didn't do it ugly. They didn't just chopped it off, they did a nice trim on it. They were careful about what they did and it looks nice. The guy was really nice, I just felt he shouldn't have charged me extra and I didn't have to pay he was going to do the avocado tree so it was kind of my fault. He was friendly and very nice, I felt very comfortable with him. He's not far from my house. I think the reason why he charged me more is he had a big, giant truck machine and it seems to me that they'd probably do a lot of hard work so they're used to quite a bit of money. My job wasn't big of a job. They have that monster thing used for cutting big. giant trees. The price was fair. They were very courteous, they cleaned up and the treatment that I got was excellent, the way they handled the business. They were friendly, they were asking me questions about how I wanted it and they were easy to work with. They were all around, they can do cement work and they do everything landscaping. They were open to do anything. I will use them again in the future for big jobs but not for small jobs.

A little disappointed in how much damage was caused, 2 sprinkler heads broken, 2 outdoor light fixtures broken, one large plant left in bad shape. They did take care of fixing the sprinklers and the lights within a few days. Randy was a great person to deal with. I will give them another try in the future.

We used this service because we had gotten an estimate for a tree trimming/or removal which varied widely between the first and second look at the tree, so we decided to wait, since the price was beyond us. (We had received a lower bid from another company.) We hadn't planned on doing the work they did, but we had the coupon and needed to use it. I think we're through with coupons!

The gentlemen was kind and professional but the estimate was way too high. I did not end up using their services.

Randy and his crew were very professional. Both days they arrived on time. They were considerate of our neighbors. We have lighting in some of the trees, which they rehung correctly. The men were also careful not to leave gates open. A couple of sprinkler heads were broken during the trimming. Randy returned the next day to repair them. I hadn't even known of the problem. Our trees look beautiful, not butchered. I plan to use Steven's Tree Service again.

After a little hiccup on the start time - we had scheduled for first thing in the morning so I made sure I was up early and ready to go to work with enough time to go over things in the yard first, but it turned out they had booked another job further out that they did first, so I didn't actually get to talk to the crew first before I had to leave for work - the crew did show up after I left for work and a neighbor of mine told me that they worked hard all day. I got home after dark so wasn't able to inspect the work thoroughly until the next morning. There were a few little things that still needed cleaning up and Terrence was prompt in sending the crew out to finish up. All in all, they did a terrific job! I would happily recommend them to all.

The service worked out well. They did a good job trimming the trees, and they trimmed them like they are supposed to be trimmed. It is not easy to find people who can do that. The interaction with them was rough at the beginning, but eventually they got it together. The gentleman who does the scheduling and the girls at the office don't seem to talk to each other, but the most important thing is that they knew how to trim the trees. I plan on using them again.

Overall I was pleased - it was just too pricey based on my previous experience w/other trimmers. There was a misunderstanding with the original estimator - he told me their minimum charge was $1300 for my area and wasn't aware of the Angie's list promotion (I had already made the $199 purchase and just wanted my money back if that was the case). The next day it was cleared up and the service was scheduled. The tree was cut back but I think more should have been done to keep it out of my neighbor's yard in the fall (they were all packed up ready to go by the time I went outside to check). They did a phenomenal job on the bottle brush. They cleaned up the area nicely and were professional and polite.

Called Steven's Tree Experts to schedule a time for an initial estimate. Ray (one of the arborists) came over, and gave us a thorough estimate and let us know what they would do exactly. Because of prior work, could not start immediately, which was not a problem, but Ray called just to check in with me to let me know when he thought that they would be able to get to me. Very appreciative of his proactive nature in keeping me abreast of what was going on. Eventually, Ray and his crew came over to the house to cut the tree. They were very careful, and thorough in cutting down the tree. They cleaned the yard, and even used a blower to blow the residue tree limbs off of the roof of the house. I will definitely use Steven's again for the other trees in our yard, and specifically ask for Ray and his crew.

Overall, I was very satisfied. The Supervisor, Randy Clifford, took the time to communicate well, so that he understood exactly what we wanted to be done. Apparently, he communicated well with the other workers because the work got done the way we wanted it. They cleaned up nicely after themselves. On the day of the work, they didn't show up exactly when I was expecting them, so I called Randy's cell phone number, which he had given me, and he let me know they would be delayed slightly. They still got all the work done in one afternoon. The estimate was for $1300.00, but I got a discount for using Angie's Big Deal, which gave me $400.00 worth of work for $199.00. I had to pay the $199.00 in advance. To me, the cost feels expensive, but it is probably competitive with other tree services having comparable qualifications. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to remove the enormous weeds without breaking any sprinklers. I understand that one sprinkler pipe got broken in the front yard, but they fixed it so that I couldn't tell that anything had happened. Overall, I was much more satisfied with Steven's Tree Experts than with the previous tree service I had used.

They came out to give me a bid and were very courteous, but the bid was far more than I had expected or had ever paid in the past. I am unable to have this done at this time and would request a refund. Thank you.
