BEWARE----- FROM MY EXPERIENCE ALL OR ALMOST ALL AIR CONDITIONING COMPANIES WANT TO SELL YOU A NEW FURNACE AND DO NOT WANT TO REPAIR THE ONE YOU HAVE. I ALMOST FELL FOR THAT WHEN I HAD FOUR... YES, FOUR REPS FROM DIFFERENT COMPANIES COME TO MY HOUSE AND TELL ME: YOUR FURNACE IS 29 YEARS OLD SO YOU NEED A NEW ONE. BUT BY ACCIDENT I FOUND OUT THAT THE FURNACE WAS NOT TURNING ON AND WAS NOT STAYING ON BECAUSE OF ONE LITTLE $100 PART. CALLED A LIMIT SWITCH. SO I CALLED SOUTHLAND BACK TO ASK FOR A LIMIT SWITCH. THEY SENT OUT THEIR SERVICE SUPERVISOR WHO INSTALLED THE LIMIT SWITCH FOR ABOUT $200 INCLUDING PARTS AND LABOR. FINALLY AFTER 4 DIFFERENT COMPANIES COMING TO MY HOUSE TELLING ME I NEEDED A NEW FURNACE AND HAVING SOUTHLAND COME TWICE I GOT WHAT WHAT I REALLY NEEDED: A NEW PART! THAT IS A LOT LESS THAN $2000 TO $3000 FOR AN ENTIRELY NEW FURNACE. NOW WITH THE NEW PART MY FURNACE IS WORKING EXTREMELY WELL. WHO WOULD KNOWN??? YOUR EXPERIENCE MAY DIFFER SO THE ABOVE IS A SUGGESTION FOR YOU.

Southland Heating and Air is unique as far as I know in that after a service call they send a feedback email in which you are able to grade the service you just received. The first check-up by another employee did not go so well... But thanks to the feedback email... Justin read it and responded to my concerns quickly. He took care of the problem with speed and fairness. Five stars!!!

From start to finish, this company has been nothing but a pleasure to work with, far and above my expectations! We had a new furnace and a slim profile AC installed along with a smart thermostat. Employees were very professional, on time, and polite. Anna in the office was super on it, making sure I had reminders of visits and workers texted ETAs. The install was done in half a day, they took care of all the permitting hassles, and we paid for the HERS test, something other companies don't even mention! Even with a couple minor snafews, Southland was easy to work with and had no problem driving over an hour one way to do the job. So glad I used Home Advisor to find them, never would have thought to call them other wise as they are not local. Sadly local companies were not high quality or affordable. Thank you Southland! An A+ project! When Matthew showed up for the first time he spoke to my wife and treated her with respect and answered all questions that she asked about replacing our central air and heating and insulation. He also discussed LADWP and Southern California Gas company rebates which were not even mentioned by previous contractors that we met. Unlike the other contractors that seemed inclined to emphasize cost more than what they would do, Matthew stressed exactly how and when the installation would take place. He kept to his word and the project was done efficiently, professionally, and all the workers were friendly and made sure all trash was picked up. And the cost was actually less than that quoted by the other contractors. During the entire project Matthew was always available to answer any concerns. My wife and I are extremely satisfied that we chose Southland and we heartily endorse them to anyone wanting central heating and air conditioning.

So my partner and I bought our first house and we decided that we should install an HVAC system before moving in. After going through the song and dance of meeting different contractors we decided on Southland because of their financing options, reviews, and the knowledge the contractor had regarding installations. Well, when the day came for the install we ran into several issues and are continuing to have these issues. We had a wall heater that they insisted on removing and then did a horrible wall patch. During the installation, the people drilled through the ceiling in the wrong places (more bad patch work). Oh and when they were connecting the gas lines, they forgot to turn off the main gas line and everyone had to clear out. There were questions whether we'd be getting a nest thermostat when we did the install. They told us we were but then said no because of the unit we got; it wasn't compatible. Not sure about this one. The day after the installation, we walked into the house and it smelled like gas. We had someone come out and apparently the installers didn't tighten everything up underneath the house. Then after that guy left, the gas was turned off and they didn't turn it on. Now, the unit is having issues with programming and the pilot light not turning on and the unit keeps sending out an alarm. Someone else of going to come out to take a look at it. It is just frustrating. I will admit that we are continuing to work with them in the hope that they will fix these issues but until that takes place my rating will remain the same.

I replaced my 3-ton central air system (condenser/coil/furnace). Got estimates from 5 companies, and did a lot of research before choosing Southland. Best choice I ever made! They surpassed expectations in every way; knowledge, experience, honesty, professionalism, quality, and follow-up. I've already recommended them to 2 of my neighbors.

I am so glad we hired this company! They installed a new system in an old 1920s spanish flat roof home with plaster walls. Lots of customizing needed to make the system look well integrated. It all turned out flawless! Unbelievable, they did it in 1 day!! They quoted me the lowest price and the customer service was amazing! I got so much more than I ever expected!

I am very satisfied with the overall service. Carlos took care of everything needed with getting HOA's approval to finding me a handyman to patch the wall. Very impressed.

They are excellent. The owner provided the estimate. They set a date to do the work. Called when another time opened to install sooner. They sent a full crew who did their work quietly and efficiently. I would check them out for your HVAC needs.
