Property Management, Real Estate Service,

About us

Allstate HOA Management, part of Allstate Property Group, is a premier, local, Homeowner Association (HOA) management firm which manages condominium buildings. We have been in business for over a decade, we are highly regarded within our industry, are centrally located, and pride ourselves in being responsive, knowledgeable and professional. Management services can be customized to your particular needs, and as an expression of our confidence in the quality of our services, HOA does not bind its clients with lengthy contracts. After a short initial commitment, our agreements are month-to-month. Through our Allstate Property Group affiliation we also provide unparalleled, real estate services should any of the homeowners within a complex we manage wish to sell. Ben Bar, the principal of HOA, is a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), a member of CAI – Community Association Institute, and a licensed real estate broker, Realtor and member of SRAR - The Southland Regional Association of Realtors. He has over 20 years experience in development, construction, brokerage and management. We thank you for your interest in our management services, and look forward to meeting with you to discuss your particular needs. If you have any questions, please call us at (310) 444-7444 or visit our Contact Us page and let us know how we can be of help.

In all three roles Allstate has consistently been terrible in their management of things.  They separate their business into areas of management, so instead of providing one person to contact for each property they have many.  It gets confusing and tedious and time consuming, requiring too many emails to get results on your requests.  Their response time is painfully slow, sometimes not responding at all until you send another email or call.  As a Seller, currently in escrow, the slow response time and sending of incorrect documents to the escrow company has put our closing date out for two weeks.  They charge a $495 fee to send PDFs of documents to the escrow account.  They must have a very expensive PDF conversion software.  They also charge an additional $500 for a "transfer fee" to change the name on their records to the new buyer.  Never mind the cost of waiting two weeks to close (half a month's mortgage payment) all due to their incompetence.  Communication within their firm is terrible.  Again due to the fact that you request something but no one seems to know who is supposed to respond or take action, so nothing gets done and then when it finally does, they don't tell each other and then someone else follows up when the action has already been taken.

They are not fully versed on the rules of HOA management or fully versed in the CC&Rs of each HOA.  At least not for the one I was a part of.  They illegally applied special assessments to Homeowners without first reviewing the CC&Rs which clearly state the amount and determinating factors where not allowed. They applied special fees against me in particularly based on one board member's request.  This fee was determined to be invalid and yet they took 6 months to remove it from my account.

Everything they do requires further management from the very people they are supposed to be providing management services for so that you end up spending more time managing them than you would have if you had taken care of the issue in the first place.
