It was a colossal waste of our time. My wife took off from work to meet the "Tech" on the morning of 10/12 and the guy who showed up, acted as though he had literally never seen a retractable downdraft. He just stared at it with a befuddled look on his face. After 15 minutes of poking around with the downdraft, he admitted that someone else would need to come out. Also, after his "tinkering" the blower motor no longer worked. Basically, wasted time and more damage caused. My wife called CAT to reschedule the following week. The second appointment however was a complete waste of time because no one showed up at all! My wife lost a day of work waiting for this service company. The scheduler apologized and made a third appointment a few days later. They showed up on the third appointment and again they had NO CLUE how to repair a retractable downdraft. My wife said they spent half the time on the phone talking to another tech who was walking them through what to look for. When my wife asked them why the blower motor wasn't working, they tried to claim that it was an existing issue! DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE CALIFORNIA APPLIANCE TECH
Description of Work: They were supposed to come out and service our retractable downdraft range hood. Ultimately they did nothing but broke it and made it worse than it was. Initially, the blower motor was working but it would not retract. After CAT FINALLY showed up after several scheduled appointments, they managed to blow the motor and now it does nothing.

We originally called CAT in December because they were the official "Maytag approved repair company". Maytag should be ashamed of themselves for letting these people work (or in this case, not work) on their products. I originally called them in because my washer was not getting hot water. They sent out a "tech" that looked like he was on his way to the Grateful Dead concert. No service truck, no snappy shirt with his name on it, no card with a license # on it to let me know he was "official". He said he needed a part and it would be in in a few days, and they would call when it was in, and charged me $139 for the visit. After 3 months of calling them every week and being told it was on "back order" we called Sears.com, and they were out in a day, with the correct part, and it was installed. I am still waiting for CAT to call me and tell me they have the part. The washing machine broke a month later, and my renter called CAT, thinking that they were, after all the "Maytag approved repair company". Same story, but this time it was the "motor control board". AFTER 3 MONTHS, THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PART! Frustrated, and needing a washer, I called Sears.com, and they came out, ordered the part which came in 1 day, and had it fixed the next day. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE LIARS. NO ONE CARES, NOT THE REPAIR PEOPLE, NOT THE OFFICE, NOT THE SUPERVISORS. IF YOU LOOK ON THEIR REVIEWS ON YELP, THIS IS THEIR STANDARD "SERVICE". (I wished I had checked it out before I ever called them.)

First they said the parts were back ordered, for two months. Then they said I could get the part and they would install it. I went to a local appliance parts place and got it the next day. When I called to schedule the repair, they made 3 appointments that they missed for a different reason each time. Finally we had aa appointment set, they showed up 15 minutes early with no call. We got home 5 minutes after the time and there was a note on the door. They have always called 1/2 hour before arrival, we were never more than 10 minutes away. After complaining, they scheduled the appointment Sunday, which there was no show and no call. On Monday I called and they said Tuesday after 5:30. They showed up at 3:30. My son happened to be home and the tech had an attitude. They collect $129.00 to diagnose and then it's applied to the repair. The tech said it was going to be an additional $70! I fired them. I would never use them again!
Description of Work: Diagnosed in October 2014, still not resolved in December 2014.

Description of Work: Missed appointments continuously. Finally had a firm appt. for 10 am one morning......they arrived at 9:30pm that night with no phone call to warn me of change. Took 6 weeks to finally get my appliance back.

They were referred to us by Maytag and where we purchased the appliances. For four months, the ice maker wouldn't work. They told us that it was the water line. We called out a plumber to look at it, but nothing was wrong with the water line. Then, they put in the parts wrong. For the fridge, they only put in some of the parts. They kept telling me it was three to five days to order the part each time. This went on for two months. At one point, they told me they lost the part in the warehouse. I eventually found out that they never ordered the parts.
Description of Work: They tried to repair a broken ice maker and the dishwasher.
