If you just want to get a report and no explanation or implications of the report, then I suggest you call Same Day mold testing because that's all you're going to get--a one page report. NO explanation or follow up about the findings of the report. However, if you want someone who is VERY knowledgeable in the area of molds and takes the time to explain to you about the process, then you want to call Chuck from One Source. I wished I had called him the first time around, that way I would have had my mold issue resolved. He is not only knowledgeable but seems very concerned for my well being. I called him in the morning and he made his way over to my house later in the evening, going completely out of his way just to give me an inspection. At the house, he took the time to explain the issue and was very patient with all my questions. He not only explained everything in great detail but he wanted me to walk away understanding the entire process ie. mold remediation, testing, and insurance claims. Don't let the purportedly HIGH reviews from the other mold testing facilities fool you, especially one day mold testing. All they want is your money. They don't care if you pass the mold test or not. Chuck wants you to pass the mold test and will do what it takes. He's unlike anyone I've encountered in this kind of profession. I can't say enough about him. Please give him a call, you'll be glad you did. Your peace of mind will thank you.
"Hello, are you sure this experience was our company, One Source Group. This does not sound familiar, this inspection nor property and certainly is not our approach; we are exceptionally forth coming in our pricing even prior to our arrival. Our services are disclosed we have a work authorization, we report both our inspection findings and laboratory analysis. I would appreciate your looking back at your report and determine if this was from One Source Group. Thank you...."
The only reason I rated One Source as a B rather than an A in professionalism is that the representative who came to take the samples reeked of stale cigarette smoke. He was a nice guy, but I was glad it was a warm day so I could leave the doors and windows open to minimize the smoke smell that he carried in.
I was very satisfied with the quality and promptness of the service.
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention as to the cigarette smoke smell. I agree this is not a pleasant experience and I apologize on behalf of this person. We appreciate all feed-back and try diligently to make every customers experience and pleasant one. Thank you,"
The negotiations to the house fell through on 10/20/13 and Chuck was able stop the mold analysis request before they got sent out, refunding us $135.
What we appreciated most about Chuck was his integrity and helpfulness during a particularly stressful time as, thank you, Chuck! If we needed another mold inspection, we would definitely work with Chuck again.
We set up that same day an appointment for the following morning. An associate, Renee, came to the house right on time at 8:00 A.M., and was very professional and friendly as he collected the necessary air and material samples, which he then hand-delivered to a testing laboratory. Chuck called again in follow-up the next day with the results (with a written report to follow) and explained them. Knowing now what I am dealing with, I can go ahead and fix the problem that is causing the stains. Chuck also said to call him any time if I needed further assistance, or if I had any other questions. Both Chuck and Renee were very knowledgeable, and spent time explaining things to me; they made the experience go extremely smooth and fast. I would certainly highly recommend them to others who need this type of work done.
pictures from my duct without my knowledge and written permission and they sent me an invoice of $410 for testing service and authorization letter to collect the sample after collecting samples without my written permission. When i refuse to pay the invoice so Mr. Chuck threatened me to put lean on my property and file a fake complaint with city, so i paid the invoice in full. I believe that One Source Group violated my privacy and collected samples without written permission, so they should refund my payment and
destroy the samples and they should stop unfair business practices.
"Our services of providing environmental inspection investigations take in to consideration a myriad of factors. Our clients potential exposure to toxic substances is a paramount concern and is truly the cornerstone of why we provide these services. When a client calls us we are walking into a new environment that we know nothing about and our dialogue with our client helps us to understand their concerns. We diligently try to understand what is happening in a property and with this science requires sampling, study and recommendations to protect the occupant and the property. When One Source Group is retained for our services we pride ourselves in addressing your concerns and we want a respectful working relationship with our customers. However, there are times when some ask for our services and have a large misconception or another agenda. In this inspection we were specifically asked to perform an inspection to include sampling for asbestos. Upon completion of the report we asked for payment of services. The customer decided to re-negotiate the cost of our services and wanted that we fold our cost in to the demolition of his HVAC duct work. As we mentioned to this client before we are a third party inspection company only and we do not provide demolition services since this would be a conflict of interest. We tried to explain to the customer that their matter was serious that their property was contaminated due to activities that damaged their ducting but once the customer learned that we do not provide demolition services he stated he did not want the report and would not pay. Unfortunately we were unable to educate this client and they do not have a working knowledge of regulated substances in California. Asbestos is a regulated substance known to the State of California to cause cancer and this matter, this environment, unfortunately was contaminated and is exposing the occupants; this is a serious legal matter and requires your attention. We hope that this client understand that to ask for services you are required to pay for said services and to broker a deal after the fact to save monies is an improper tactic especially when it comes to a persons health. We ask you to consider your exposure in this situation and sincerely suggest that you should take necessary actions to protect all occupant health in this property as soon as possible."
"Hello (member name removed), as we brought to your attention in our email of the analysis for asbestos; asbestos sampling that we took from your home were 3 total samples not 12 the amount of lead sampling performed was 6 by your direction and not 9. The 12 total analysis is due to the laboratories "layering" of the samples that we have no control of and that is simply dictated due to the regulation of the examination see; EPA PCM 600/R-93/116 methodology for examination for building materials that may contain asbestos. The laboratory that we use is an accredited laboratory by NIST, National Institute of Standards and Technologies, which accredits asbestos laboratories by what is called NVLAP, National Voluntary Laboratories Accreditation Program. The laboratory, due to their accreditations will examine all samples thoroughly to ensure that the analysis is correct. When considering budget and time constraints, knowledge and ultimately safety, we at One Source Group will act in a professional and appropriate manner to provide you with accurate information. Our goal is to protect your health first and foremost and the difference in price due to the additionally analyzed samples was $180.00. We apologize if this caused you frustration but again our interest is your health and we will not sacrifice the quality of our work nor will we diminish our attention to the project we have been intrusted to perform. If you like we are more than happy to refund you the $180.00 due to our belief in serving not only our customers needs of understanding their structure but to also ensure that our customers are educated, informed and protected. Thank you, Chuck Moore"
"Hello [member name removed], we apologize if your having to wait for our arrival upset you however you did not suggest a specific arrival time. It's difficult to understand a clients needs, we appreciate the flexibility in the schedule you did allow. We try to accommodate everyone's schedules to be flexible to their individual needs but in your case we regret that this may have caused you any disruptions. Thank you,"
"Member, we are happy that you were pleased with our services. I would enjoy being able to be at every inspection but in order for us to serve as many customers as we can we have to have employs. The technicians in your property are employs of One Source Group. What you saw was a ID badge for an on going commercial project where in we are the subcontractor to another company and I apologize if this confused you. One of our goals is to provide quick responses to our customers needs. We are constantly reminded that in today's business world transactions happen quickly. In order for us to maintain a timely response to your needs and a competitive edge we simply can not finance any project. We've made payment arrangements as easy as we possibly can by not only being a "Green" operation in that we handle all payments and documents electronically but we've given opportunities to pay via Paypal on our website as well. You may want to consider that many service providers require payment at time of service simply, in order for us to extend a low cost of service to our customer we require immediate payment. Thank you for your patronage it was our pleasure in servicing your inspection needs. Respectfully, Chuck Moore"
After reading about mold online, we almost backed out of the house purchase. We called Tom, who talked everything through with us again. He explained the likely severity of the problem and our many options should there be any surprises down the road. He reassured us the fear of mold on message boards can get out of hand and that our issue was fixable. We are so glad he talked us off the cliff.
One Source also tested for asbestos. The test results indicated there wasn't any found in the popcorn ceilings, which was a relief. Soon after they left, we realized vinyl flooring had been glued to the original hardwoods below carpeting. Aware asbestos was sometimes used in such floors, we called Tom yet again. He offered to test a piece of the floor for the cost of the lab without charging to have the asbestos inspector return. Tom was very helpful, professional, and patient. We will be using him for any other future surprises during renovation.
"We are sorry that this customer had a bad experience. Based on the budget they gave us to work with, we had to target the area they requested and contrary to what they stated, A visual evaluation along with moisture testing was performed in all other suspect areas of the home along with other valuable advice for asbestos and LBP. Furthermore, the remediation area that we specified (water heater location) was a small job that did not require a fullblown workplan. It should be noted however, that after the customer requested it, it was provided SAME DAY. Bottom line we have a a great track record on Angies List and we hope that this ONE review doesnt afffect you decision to call us for our services. Furthermore, it should be noted that the person who wrote this review was not present during this inspection and it is in our opinion an impulsive post from second hand information at best. During the discussions on the work scope question it was discovered the client was hiring a company from San Diego to do this small job in Fullerton. We tried to give some advice as to why the SD company was asking for such an expanded scope for such a small job (i.e. obviously they didn’t want to drive all the way up from SD for a "free" estimate). As the saying goes "in one ear, out the other". I offered them some good LOCAL mold remediation firms they could call that would not have asked for this and caused the confusion in the 1st place. Lastly, we at 1SG take each and every project large or small seriously and we just wanted to set the record straight on this particular post."
