Mark's Drywall Service

I needed to have dry wall installed in our den that many years ago had wood paneling. I thought the paneling would have to be removed but Mark convinced me that the drywall could be installed over the paneling and actually provide a better installation for over the mantel above a fireplace. He was right about that and it is really a benefit because if you want to hang pictures or even a television you don't have to worry about finding a stud. I called Mark late in the afternoon and he was available to come over the next morning and do the work. He is a big guy and handles the drywall like it is a feather. He was very competent in his trade and had it installed in a matter of a couple of hours. He cleaned up after he had completed the work and even vacuumed the area where he accomplished the installation. My only reservation was the price he charged...$400. After thinking about it I thought maybe I had paid too much for a maybe 2 or 3 hours of work on a wall about 4ft X 12ft. Granted he is very skilled, but drywall isn't high tech, either. The next time, I might get a couple more bids, before I hired Mark again. But I heartily recommend him, just based on the quality of his work and the speed of completion.

We had mold damage in a bathroom and the living room from a water leak. After having the damaged drywall removed by a mold remediation company, we asked Mark to bid on the repair work. His bid was within the estimate from the insurance company, so we asked him to do the work. This was our second time working with Mark recently. Both times he was easy to work with: very professional, responsive, punctual, with high integrity. He is meticulous with the drywall work: patching, texturing, and painting. Outstanding quality and service at fair prices. You can't ask for anything more.

Mark was very responsive from Day 1. He arrived on time and performed the work as promised. He is highly skilled and did an excellent job. The walls look great! He was friendly, professional, very neat and meticulous in the work performed. I will be calling him again to make some repairs to the drywall/texture in my master bath when I am ready.

Mark was very professional and a true craftsman on the work he did at our home. We had a pipe leak and had several holes in walls and ceiling that needed drywall repair. Mark is extremely professional. Great communication throughout the project and offered suggestions which were much appreciated. Mark removed the old popcorn ceiling, added a custom texture to the ceiling and painted all the interior and the outcome was fantastic. I have found very few people that do what they say, when they say. It was a complete pleasure to have used Mark and have already referenced him to my neighbors/friends. I'm extremely picky and Mark exceeded my expectations.

He was awesome!!!! He made this experience actually pleasant. I appreciated that he answered his phone on a Sunday night and came out to see the job early that week. His work was flawless.

My initial contact with Mark was very straight forward and professional. We set up a date when he could come by and see the areas that needed to be repaired. Mark was on time for the appointment and provided me with a very reasonable quote. I had recently installed a chandelier in our dining room and eliminated two can lights which left two holes in the ceiling. Not very pretty. That portion of the project would be straight forward. The second part would be more challenging. Over a period of several years, water had rotted or washed away the drywall between the tube and the vanity in one of our bathrooms. Mark had an area of aprox. 2' x 4" to replace and not much room to work in. Mark showed up as scheduled to do the job and within three hours he was done. The areas looked like new. The ceiling texture matched perfectly and will be ready for me to paint in a couple of days. In the bathroom, one would be hard pressed to find where any work had been done. It was perfect. Overall, I am very impressed with the work Mark did for me and definitely will use him again, if needed. If you need drywall repair done and want it done by a pro, call Mark.

Mark was incredible and the sub-contractor he used for one part of the project was excellent also. He was reliable, timely, and very thorough.

We contacted Marks Drywall Service for an estimate. Mark promptly returned our phone calls and set up a time to give us an estimate. Mark called prior to the scheduled time to inform us that he was on his was over to the job site. Mark gave us a very fair evaluation of what the repairs would entail. We scheduled the work and Mark showed up at the appointed time and was very professional. Mark even when above and beyond the agreed upon work. He caulked areas that were not included in the estimate . I would definitely recommend Mark for any drywall repairs needed.

Estimate was fair, scheduled work for within a week of estimate and he did a great job. Cleaned up after every step so no dusk or debris was left to blow into my home. Am very happy with the completed work and would be happy to recommend Mark to my neighbors, family and friends.

I had called three places from Angies List. One returned my call, that would be Mark. Over the phone he gave a rough estimate based on my description. I wasn't able to call back and set up an appointment the same week. I called back the next week and he was still busy but agreed to come out on a Friday and give a hard estimate. He arrived on time and called about 20 minutes before he arrived. He was on time spent a few minutes looking at the hole and what I wanted done and he was gone. The estimate was the same as what he told me on the phone. We had set up an appointment for the following Tuesday. Tuesday came and Mark was on time. He did the job in about two hours. No mess was left I didn't have to clean up after him. The job was neat the work professional and dude was on time. I would hire him again in a heartbeat. I would recommend him to anybody who needs drywall. Oh, he also said he paints, but I have not seen his work. If it's anything like the drywall I am sure it's good. To other contractors on Angies List. If you don't answer the phone and a customer leaves a message call them back. If I had written down or remembered who I called I would surely talk some mess about them here. Unfortunately for me and other consumers I was at work using my cell phone on Angies List which allowed me to dial directly from the app, Coooool app by the way. So I didn't write down the other two I called. Yeah, my mistake. Made the same mistake calling about appliance repair on the same day, called some no call back can't talk mess cause I can't remember who I called! DRAT!

Mark was quick to quote and for a very fair price. He was on time and easy to work with. When the texture coating didn't dry within the time he expected, he left to retreive a couple of fans to help expedite the drying process. I like that he did not try to rush the finish so the work would turn out right. I would highly recommend Mark's work and would work with him on any future drywall projects.

Mark was exactly what you hope for when you hire someone to do work in your home. He called back immediately, set up an appointment to come look at the work to be done, provided an estimate later that day by email, showed up on the date set - on time -, kept the work area as clean as possible and totally cleaned up after the job was done, completed the entire job in one day, and did amazing work (just as the other people had stated on Angie's list). You truly can not tell where any of the drywall work was done and one 4'x4' section of a wall had to get new drywall. I would hire him again without hesitation!

Mark does beautiful drywall retexturing which was better than other drywall retexturing that I have had done. He also does a beautiful job as a painter. He uses quality Dunn Edwards Paint, is very neat in his work and cleans up after himself. He was friendly to talk to and very patient working with a dog in the house. I would highly recommend him and will have him do any future painting we need to have done. You definitely get quality work for what he charges.

Mark worked 11 days at our home. He removed the acoustic ceilings in 7 rooms, two hallways, and a staircase. He repaired drywall in the kitchen ceiling and two other walls. Mark repaired, textured, and painted all the ceilings. He painted the 20 foot stairwell. My wife and I painted most of the walls and Mark helped us with those. It was a long project as Mark works by himself and we stayed in the home the entire time. Mark drove about 40 minutes to our home each day. He was here by 7am all 11 days. Mark kept his equipment and our home clean throughout the project. Mark is easy to work with and he gave us lots of advice on painting. If the quality of the work is a priority, you want to use Mark. He is expensive but the end product is exceptional.

Mark is very professional and provided a comprehensive estimate for the work. He came on the agreed dates, did high quality work, kept the areas clean as the work was completed. He finished the work on time and for the estimated price (even though we found one repair that wasn't in the original estimate). You'd need a magnifying glass to tell the repairs from the original work.

I was in the market looking for some good honest advice and Mark was a great, unselfish help. Even though my job was too huge and wasn't in the scope of services offered by this provider, he gave me solid advice and took his time to explain the details of drywall repair and installation. I would recommend him to any person seeking help in this field of work.

I do not have enough words to describe how great a job Mark did in our home remodel. He repaired drywall holes and cracks, smooth coated the entire interior of the home (including ceilings), primed and painted the entire home in our mid century modern house in Laguna Beach. He was always on time, stayed late on some days, never complained, was always courteous, and did an amazing job. The job took about a month, and he even worked Saturdays. He communicated well and to be blunt, we have absolutely no negatives or critiques from this experience. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing paint work or drywall work in their home. He is a rare gem, and his work shows this. The one thing I would like to add is that mid-way between the job, Mark was upset one morning. I asked him why and he said because someone gave him a bad review on Angie's List. He said he always goes out of his way to commuicate and perform excellent work, and this is the first time it happened. He explained that someone called for a quote, and he told her he was busy with my job for 20 or so days. The lady insisted on having him come out THAT DAY for a quote, that she needed the work done THAT WEEK. So, he told her she should find someone else, because he could not do the job in that timeframe. So, she went on Angie's List and gave him a bad review. I told him that a lot of drywallers would have given the lady a quote anyways, knowing they were not available, then stringing both parties along while trying to do both jobs at once. Mark did not do that. He has integrity. He told the lady he did not have the time, and she punished him with a bad review. I feel guilty because he was working on my home at the time. He should not have been punished for this. Especially because the lady did not even have work done at her home-how can she write a review for his work? All I can say is that Mark is amazing and does phenomenal work. Trust me, you will not be upset by choosing him. The one thing is, he is very busy because his work is so good. So, please be patient. Good workers are HARD TO FIND!!!

Mark did an excellent job of removing our popcorn ceilings and wallpaper with minimal mess. He subsequently painted several rooms for us, and later returned to paint new baseboards that were installed with new flooring. All work was done to our complete satisfaction and we would highly recommend him to our friends and neighbors. Mark was very professional and prompt.

We couldn't be happier with our choice in using Mark's Drywall Service. Mark does all the work himself. The written estimate he provided was very detailed and complete, showing us just what to expect. He very communicative and very flexible with us in scheduling our project. (He was able to split our job in two parts to adjust for both our schedule and his previous committments so that he was able to complete everything within the time parameters we needed.) Mark shows up on time, is very detail oriented, organized and exceptionally clean throughout the project. He shows great work ethic and finished our project exactly when he estimated he would. Although Mark's prices aren't perhaps the cheapest in the industry, he is fair and worth every cent we paid. If you're looking for quality and someone you can trust, Mark is your man.
