John did a great job. Very timely in requesting information and getting the documents back to me and smoothly guiding me thru the loan process.

Heritage Mortgage has been my mortgage broker since John was the realtor who helped us find and buy our house 25 years ago. John did our purchase loan then and two more refinances. In August, he called me out of the blue to say I could refinance, make the same payment each month and save $70,000 of interest on the life of the loan. I had to pay for the appraisal ($410) plus the escrow, recording and notary fees ($340.) He did a very good job as always. Trustworthy, honest and professional. I can only hope that rates will go down and he will call again soon!!!

We highly recommend that you call Lydia if you want to buy a house or condo; she is smart, savvy, and personable. When we found THE house, she did a phenomenal job of getting the seller and seller?s agent to accept our contingent offer pending the sale of our existing house. She really was incredible as she negotiated, communicated, inspected and advised. She and her transaction coordinator did all the paperwork, disclosures and reports electronically. Again, she did nice things along the way that no one else has done for us in the past. We had a small hiccup with the repairs and Lydia went above and beyond trying to make it right. A bonus is that John did our real estate loan so we were prequalified when we made the offer and we knew we were going to get our new loan and close on time. Don?t hesitate to call John and Lydia.

John has done several mortgage loans for us including our home purchase loan, a refinance, and our newest home purchase loan this month. A great rate, no surprises, good communication throughout the process, and the loan was done on time. John is ?on the ball? and knows how to work with complex situations. We wanted to buy a new house and he told exactly what to do. He told us how much to put down, what all the fees would be, how much our mortgage payments would be, and how much we would need to close escrow. He know his stuff and we are really happy?.

John was fabulous. What a contrast with the other broker! He was super responsive, fast, professional, polite, honest, and careful about every detail. Everything was meticulously done, and done in record time. In the end he would even have gotten us a better rate than the other guy. I wish we had found John last December when we started applying for the loan because he would clearly have been the better choice. The loan application process would have been finished and approved within 30 days with a lot less stress.

They answered all my questions, facilitated all the paperwork, inspections, etc. and successfully sold my prior home, found my new home and obtained a mortgage on my behalf. John provided outstanding service throughout my most recent re-fi. After having last re-financed through a major bank I wanted to avoid re-living such a painful experience and this go-around with John was like night and day. It is worth noting that this was not a simple re-fi as the timing coincided with the completion of a major home remodel and involved the subordination of a HELOC from another bank. Even with these hurdles, John was able to close escrow within the contracted period. In fact, we would have closed sooner, had the re-model not been delayed a week! John clearly has a customer focus as he was extremely attentive and responsive to all my enquiries. A specific example, is that he had a notary meet us at our house in order to complete a special power-of-attorney for my wife because I was going to be out of town for the signing. While it may be a while before we do another re-fi, I would highly recommend Heritage Mortgage to friends and family and will make them my first stop for home financing needs. I called John Engstom on the 22nd of May to requesting that he assist me in refinancing my house with a much lower interest rate. I was 9 years into a 30 year fixed mortgage with a 5.5%interest rate. John, after crunching some numbers with me locked me into a 20 year 3.6% interest rate. John has adept knowledge of his field and with his engaging personality walked me through the process of application, accumulating background documentation, and with the help of his lovely wife Lydia, the final escrow signing. All was done with great acumen, and it all happened in less than three weeks! I definitely recommend John and will use him for any future mortgage and real estate needs.

John was very courteous and responsive. From the beginning he was willing to listen and delivered as promised. He also gave me options and provided the best out there.

John listened to all my requirements, understood them perfectly and found us a great loan. We are going to be able to keep our monthly payments the same and shorten the duration of our loan which was our goal. We did have to pay for an appraisal but that appears to be standard practice and was not a fee charged by Heritage Mortgage. All the massive amount of paperwork that is required for a mortgage was handled electronically wherever possible (which we appreciated) and Lydia was able to meet with us to finish off the transaction with signatures at our convenience. The whole process was very quick, efficient and professionally managed. It was as painless as the process can be. We would definitely use this firm again.

This was my second refinance, no closing cost option, with Heritage, and it went extremely smoothly. John is nothing but business, and knows how to anticipate the questions that underwriters inevitably ask. He provided us with radar into the process of refinancing when employment has changed. He's very communicative either over the phone or by email, and he knows his business extremely well. I would definitely use John in the future, he definitely earned both my, and my wife's, trust in the process. Until we return to the no-doc days where anyone and his brother could be (and was) a mortgage agent, I'd recommend dealing with John.
